Yeah, the coordinates are correct.

The idea is that you kill mobs until you get a 2 minute buff that says that it allows you to commune with the statues, and then you walk up to each statue and you get the "prophecy" and the statue whispers you.

Seems you only get the debuff from the Grishna Matriarch. Killed a ton of the Scorncrows, Harbingers, Falconwings, no buff. Only got it killing the Matriarch, in range of it.

It does seem like you have to be close when they die. They have various emotes (e.g; "Falconwing speaks to his pet, sending it into a rage!") that you need to be in range for when you kill them. I killed them at max range for 45 minutes without getting a buff til I figured that out.

This quest can be done with ONLY one kill. You don't have to dismount to get the prophecy's as you'll get them automaticly by standing at the totem.

Step 1: Find out where the totems are located nad make yourself known by how to reach them.

Step 2: Kill a Grishna Falconwing

Step 3: Ride through the camp and visit ALL the totems. I recommend doing them in this cycle:

Fourth(On the left side of the hut),

First (In the northern towers, last tower)

Second (Last tower on the lower floor at the southern towers).

Coords are right but as you can see by so many comments its a real pain. There is another quest you can do at the same time by picking up an orb from the guys. Not too shabby.

As another post mentioned, kill a Falconwing (the ones with pets) to receive the buff.

From the huge friendly tree elemental near the fork in the road, head north and eventually you'll see the path branch off into two bridges that lead to the treetops. Take the left bridge and follow it to the last hut.

Jump down, head southeast a ways to the lone hut facing the lake.

Head northeast a bit across the same lake; the totem there is alongside the lake, below a hill.

Finally, go up the hill and look for a bridge that leads to the three easternmost treetop areas; you'll find it on the last hut, on the bottom floor.

Ok there are actually 2 "buffs" here.
The first arakkoa you kill gives you "Soul Attraction" that makes you able to get the 2min buff called "Understanding Ravenspeech" wich is rather easy to get by killing around 5 arakkoa, and 2 mins are enough to get 2 totems discovered.

And I'll say where the totems are since some didn't understand the other posts. 2 of the totems are up on the treetops so just just climb up and look around while you have the buff and you will get them complete, other 2 are on ground level, one is by the water with the basilisks, and the other one is at the side of the big hut to the south of the camp.

This should be easy for anyone cause you have to kill a lot of mobs to just move to the totems so you're getting the buff all the time.

Ok, if you don't get the buff after the first kill or two RELOG! I spent an hour killing and couldn't get the buff. I relogged and the first kill I got gave me the buff, then I killed a second and got the buff again.

Many have experienced the same thing, don't waste your time and relog if you don't get the buff after the first two kills.

A trick that worked for me to get the buff, was to be within melee range of the Falconwing's when they die. I am a hunter and it took me quite some time to figure that out.

Note that there are two treehouse networks in Raven's Wood. They're not connected and I spent a long time in the wrong one looking for those prophecy totems. You want the one located in the main camp, there is a little hill with 2 walkways leading up to towers from the same hill.

The wrong one is a tree with a spiral inside the tree to get up into the treetops...

Also, I found that the ones with pets do indeed give the buff every time while the others only occasionally give it. It can still be a pain to find the ones with pets when you need them (there are none in the treetops), but it is the best way to guarantee the buff.

this quest could be dropped. Use your own judgement. In my experience it was not hard, however it was tedious and frustrating. (Finding the totems and not having speech or having speech and not being able to get back to a totem.)

the quest is quite easy. follow the directions in the first posts on here to find the totems. they are quite easy to find.

be sure that you are in MELEE range when you kill a falconwing (with bird). if it does not work: relog. when you kill them you get a 2 min buff.

they is also a permanent area buff. you need that one to get the 2 minute one. but you get the permanenet area buff quite easy by killing some dudes there.

3 in trees and one by swamp as mentioned. Fight on bridges, less aggro and Paladins, use seal of justice as these guys run away and bring party favors. Once you figure out patterns ain't so hard.

The quest itself is not too hard, but it is a very tedious one. I reccomend teaming up with any friendly players you see to make things easier on yourself, or at least wait for a busier hour so other people will also be in the area killing. Respawns are VERY fast and there are a lot of criss crossing patrols. I imagine this was made so players would not be lacking in finding the mobs to kill for the buff, but it would have been preferable to have a longer buff and lower respawn times.

This is by far the worst quest i've encountered. I do not rec'd it if you don't need the quest rewards....

If you do:

Coords above are correct. For RANGED FIGHTERS: YOU MUST BE IN MELEE RANGE WHEN YOU KILL THE FALCONWING or you will run around for hours (like I did) wondering why the heck you didn't get the buff.

As said above, DO NOT DIE as the run back is just about as bad as this quest....
Fast respawn rates.

Is an easy enough quest for soloing if you have all the information before you begin it. If not, you're wasting time and gold on repair bills.

VERY easy quest if you are a druid with flight form. I killed one mob, got the buff and flew to all the totems. Took 45 seconds.

I feel bad for everyone having trouble. Oh and Supple leather boots are awesome for Bear armor.

u cannot get damned buff while killing those mobs with ranged wpn
no matter who does killing blow u or your pet

I renewed the two minute buff several times before its duration ran out and hit the first three prophecies in about 6 minutes. Then I triple pulled, died, rezzed, got the buff AGAIN and it allowed me to complete the final prophecy.

So I don't know what all this business is about "one one kill."

Simple quest, just remember where each totem is on the map.
Kill a mob with the pet to get the buff, and then mount up and run to them all.

Did it in about 40 seconds, no real troubles.

Might want to kill the mobs for the item that starts a quest though.

This quest totally sucks. I died about 5 times because I couldn't rezz properly because of all these monsters. As a caster, I couldn't stay next to the monsters so I needed to go back and I always aggro'd too much.
I still finished it but I wouldn't like to restart it.

I ran through this tonight. Mobs respawn quickly. And It seemed that I gained the "Soul Attraction" buff whenever I entered the general area after loosing it. I did have to relog after my first attempt as It was the only way for me to regain the buffs.

Some minor corrections on what I've read above:

First Post: The coordinates for the first and second prophecies are correct , but the prophecies aren't on the very top story of the tree towers - they're on the story just below. They're tiny little versions of the regular owl/bird totems you see in Arakkoa camps, on top of little prayer blankets. I was confused for a few minutes checking all the tree towers looking for them.

Other post: Someone said that the "soul attraction" buff is gained upon killing your first Arakkoa in the area - not true. You gain the buff as soon as you enter the Grishnath area. I used my flying mount to go over the mountain, to avoid the mobs in the tunnel, and I gained it while still in flight as soon as I neared the ground. As long as you're in the area you have this buff - leave the area, lose the buff. You can only gain "Understanding Ravenspeech" while you have "Soul Attraction."

That being said, I did this with a hunter in about 5 minutes. After figuring out where each of the totems was it was a breeze. I don't think any of the Arakkoa we killed failed to give us the "Understanding Ravenspeech" buff. That didn't seem like a problem. If you have a flying mount this quest is even easier - fly to one of the prophecies, dismount, grab an arakkoa, kill it, get credit for that prophecy, mount, go to the next one. It makes the ones up in the tree towers especially easy, as you can fly right onto the tower, kill one of the patrolling arakkoa, get credit, and jump off.

This is one of the very few quests I abandoned while leveling. When I have both buffs I still don't get whispered. Only the one in the little pond seemed to work.

I'd stand next to the stupid totems for the duration of the buff and nothing would happen. Then the graveyard is also very, very far away, so forget this quest.

In the 2.1.0 patch I noticed that you can see the yellow dots on the minimap, when you can interact with the "totems"
(you just walk close and you achieve the objective). So when you don't see a yellow dot, you can't yet complete the objectives. :)

simple to notice that when you get the understanding ravenspeak it will highlight your minimap when you are nearby a prophecy. I also had some issues with coming off a flying mount and killing mobs and not getting the buff. so make sure you have the soul attraction buff before killing any arakkoa

Useless piece of information:
The Understanding Ravenspeech buff will replace your tracking type (only proffesional ones I need confirmation about tracking huumanoids, giant, etc) and can not be dispelled by right clicking on it. When finished it will re-use your previous tracking type (I repeat I have tested it only with proffesional tracking mining, herbalism and not with player tracking system like humanoid tracking or elemental)

Does anyone know anything about a pendant? I was following a leveling guide and it said if you didn't get a pendant, you probably didn't receive them in order. This is the only time it mentions this, it didn't say anything before that and none of the comments here mention it. Any idea what this guy is talking about?

Goddamned Grishnath sure do love patrols.

Everywhere you go, patrols patrols patrols. Every square inch of Grishnath has a patrol covering it IN ADDITION to the mobs already standing around. I also have a theory that they practice an unknown form of stealth but I can't verify it yet.

Just be wary.

Also kill falcon pets before you kill the master, else they go Beast I-Win.

For those of you as confused as I am about it, and why you can't find any arakkoa with a pet- you're at the wrong camp. You don't go back to the one north of evergrove where you started the quest, you have to go west across the bridge and through the tunnel for this part.

Recommend doing this with a flying mount. Takes 5 minutes tops (ignoring all the mobs you don't care about ftw), and you can get "credit" for each prophecy by merely flying near the totem thing.

Oh, and grab the mail shoulders if you're just planning to vendor the reward, as they give the most gold.

All coords are correct. BUT to clear up some confusion. You first have to kill one Araakoa before you get buff 1. Buff 1 allows you to collect souls. Second you have to get another buff from an araakoa around the totem. The second buff is what allows you to collect the prophecies. Very easy on a flying mount, especially since Blizzard put in the yellow dots to show where the prophecies are. Simply fly around or walk to the yellow dots following the coords in the seperate post:)

Fairly easy quest now. I did not have to kill a Grishna Falconwing with a pet, as when I moved towards #1, there were 3 Grishna Harbringers on the tree platform. After killing the 1st one I received the reading buff. #2 is just a few meters from the ramp leading down the #1 tree. A note here, I had to dismount and click on the totem to receive the info. Took maybe 5 minutes to complete.

Just did this on my PvP Warrior at lvl 70, and it might be worth saving for max level. With flying mount, all you have to do is:

- Kill a Grishna Falconwing (Within melee range)
- Mount up
-Fly by the Totems (You don't even have to dissmount)

I just did this as a 70 rogue, once you get the buff, you can stealth and walk past all of the "prophecy" things in stealth mode, without aggro, and still get credit.

I think this quest is bugged. I could only get the 2nd buff from the Talonwing guys. That made getting one of the totems almost impossible since there was a LOT of clearing, more than 2 minutes worth and I have no flying mount yet. Sooooo I went down the tree, killed a Talonwing and zerged, not stopping for anything. That was the only way to complete it without a flying mount.

You can get the buff and then ride around on your mount (Yes, ground mount) and get 'em all without killing more than one arrakoa. The treehouses don't count as buildings, no dismounts. You may take a lot of damage though, but I did it and had 20% hp left on my L68 protection warrior (11k armor 12k hp).

I've had trouble with this quest in the past on different characters, especially after getting the buff once and only getting 2 or 3 of the Prophecies, and trying to regain the buff to finish up. Had the same problem today. First time around, I got the buff from the first Harbinger I killed. Managed to get 3 of the Prophecies taken care of in that 2 minutes.

Once it wore off, I killed probably a dozen mobs, a mix of Harbingers, Falconwings, and Scorncrows, with no luck whatsoever. Finally, I decided to try and relog. First Harbinger I killed after relogging, presto, buff gained.

So! If you're having trouble with this, try relogging.

Edit - For the record, I had the Soul Attraction buff the entire time. The Understanding Ravenspeech buff was what took a relog to gain.

This quest along with the other quests in this ravens woods enclave of blades edge used to be some of the most PITA in outlands imo. This one is particularly broken now with flyers since you can simply fly past all the prophecy totems in one circuit with the two minute "understanding ravenspeech" buff.

I was having trouble spotting the totems, so I thought I'd try and write a detailed, worded, and hopefully easily understood location of the totems. And a short breakdown of the language learning.

When you arrive in Grishnath you should gain Soul Attraction, which allows you to learn the Arakkoa's language when you kill them. This buff is called Understanding Ravenspeech and you will only have it for two minutes before you will have to kill another.

Once you have the buff, I believe you can learn the prophecies simply by getting close to the totems. In which case you could fly up to them and away, without having to engage many enemies. (Provided you have a flying mount of course.)

As for the locations ..

First Prophecy - Lies on a tower in the northern end of Grishnath. Note the purple carpets on the outer edge of the tower's floor.

Second Prophecy - In the lower floor of a tower on the eastern end of Grishnath; it is very slightly north of the 'A' in Grishnath on your Blade's Edge map. Look for a totem standing atop a green, rectangular carpet.

Third Prophecy - Pretty easy to spot. NE corner of Grishnath, it's on the shore on a small pool inhabited by Basilisk.

Fourth Prophecy - Right underneath the 'H' in Grishnath on your Blade's Edge map. You'll find it between a round-walled building and a small lean-to.

Not sure if this quest has changed in the last patch, but...I never did get the two minute buff for killing the arrakoa. Instead, I went to each totem and killed the one that was the closest. Then was able to get the prophecy completed.
Worked out well, actually, as I hate the timed quests. Gives you a chance to take your time and grab a beer or take a leak in between totems lol...the coordinates listed above were right on, by the way.

Here are the prophecies for your reading pleasure:
First Prophecy:
From the darkest night shall rise again the raven, shall take flight in the shadows, shall reveal the nature of its kind. Prepare yourself for its coming, for the faithful shall be elevated to take flight with the raven, the rest be forgotten to walk upon the the ground, clipped wings and shame.
Second Prophecy:
Steel your minds and guard your thoughts. The dark wings will cloud and consume the minds of the weak, a flock of thralls whose feet may never leave the ground.
Third Prophecy:
The old blood will flow once again with the coming of the raven, the return of darkness in the skies. Scarlet night, and the rise of the old.
Fourth Prophecy:
The raven was struck down once for flying too high, unready. The eons have prepared the Dark Watcher for its ascent, to draw the dark cloak across the horizon.

As a hunter with all trackers on, the totems show up on my mini map as yellow point.

Not sure if this has already been noted, but as a hunter you can see these on your mini-map with your track hidden turned on.

I see no reason to worry about the time constraint as the type of foe killed which allows the speech is found everywhere and each time you kill one the timer resets. Consequently just proceed to your target (totem) and in course of travels you will invariably encounter the buff carriers in plentiful amounts. I was able to pick up while mounted in one case without the use of the action "cog-wheel" that says open. ..Weird. Also once the timer starts the locations of the totems are displayed as yellow dots on mini-map like an herb or the like.

As mentioned:
If you have a flying mount, you don't have to kill anybody, unless there's one standing right next to the totem. Don't need the pendant either. Just land on it, click it, and take off. I did have to fly away from one, and come back.

If you are having trouble getting credit for this quest, first kill one mob to get the buff, then go in order. You don't even have to click on the totems, simply getting near them will trigger completion, but you must go in order from First to Fourth. You can't start at the second like I tried to do, wondering why it wasn't working.

Description
