If, after traveling through the portal and landing in the cave, Venari does not move after telling her you're ready, try this (this is what I did to advance):

-Slowly walk to the back of the cave - there will be a zone change (this sounds weird, I know).
-Once the zone changes, stop, turn around but do not move another inch - stay in the new zone.
-If you didn't walk too far into the new zone, you should still be in range of her - talk to her.

I can't guarantee this will work for everyone, but it did for me.

I got it working by...

- run out of the circle and die
- respawn at cave
- start escort again and dont skip cutscene (i skipped it before)

This quest bugged out on me directly after viewing the cut scene. Venari wouldn't move and only told me too "stay close maw walker". Some reported skipping the cutscene and this happening. For me, I watched the whole thing and it still bugged. To solve it, I stepped out of her shroud, died and restarted the quest again.

If this happens to you, remember to pick up your stygia. If you don't get it right away, you can go back and get it. I did this before turning in the quest just to be sure I didn't accidentally push the story forward and miss out on the chance.

After you accept this quest, run down a small ramp to the right of Ve'nari and use the teleporter device.

Appears to be buggy after the cut scene ends. If she doesn't move after the scene ends, just hang tight for a few minutes (4-5ish) and she'll start moving again.

Rather than being completely halted on this quest, she took a long time to move.

Based on these chatlog timestamps with her statements:

It took approximately 16 minutes for her to move.

I was thankfully reading other things and looking at a few Twitch streams while playing, so I was occupied at the time and assumed she was just sitting there until I started a quest, but maybe 4 or 5 minutes in I noticed there was no quest.

Walking out of her circle lead to the Eye of the Jailer saying “I see you, Maw Walker.”

I had no problem walking back into the circle.

Rather than immediately abandoning the quest (which I know would solve the issue temporarily, or at least bypass for another attempt), I decided to write a bug report. She started moving as soon as I started typing.

I would recommend abandoning and starting over, not simply waiting. But, a relevant observation in case someone runs into an unlucky chain of abandoning and quest progress failure.

Others have observed 4-5 minutes average wait time, so my longer wait is hopefully an outlier.

If you are a Shaman and die by stepping out of her cover just release, don't bother Reincarnating. Ve'nari will be right there with you if you reincarnate but walk BACK to the cave you started in but you can't actually get in it without going outside of her cover and you die anyways.

I was stuck despite listening to the cut scenes and waiting the suggested 4-5 mins (actually about 20) ... so I left the safety of the bubble but nothing happened bar the warning and my swift return to safety bubble, then I abandoned the quest (dont do that) and was left standing in the same spot. Killed by a number of shadehounds and others and my action bars didnt seem to be working. A couple of other quests appeared in my quest log and I received credit for killing a shadehound (though pretty sure I hadnt) and some other quest I dont remember. Reloaded - worth a try but nothing. Then rezzed and returned to cave where Venari is, using the transporter thingy we buy from her. Picked up the quest again and all ok, I had given up on the stygia but after obtaining the new portal I went back on a mount (yay) and found my stygia :) happy now. then back to to portal and now wondering what to do re the Charge of the Covenants because have the quest but no directions - hello wowhead! again!

Another way to maybe get it working. I waited a long time, but nothing happened.

Just to test it, I went out of Ve'naris protective circle, got the eye of the jailer debuff, right-clicked it to remove it and stepped into protective circle. Ve'nari then started moving immediately

I thought mine was really bugged but it was 7.5 minutes after she froze till she started moving again.

Hi all

I present Maw Walkers Storyline part of Chains of Domination which is the criteria for Breaking the Chains. This Story line have 9 Quests. I get this Quest after log in to game after path 9.1.0 and i had 40 Renown.

1 Opening the Maw Start Quest from Tal-Inara in Oribos 39 69. Then speak with him
2 Link to the Maw Go to Maw and speak with Ve'nari 46 41
3 Mysteries of the Maw Move to 47 43 and press on Animaflow Teleporter You will be move to new location, when you will get on ground follow Ve'nari Will be a Cinematic after it still follow Ve'nari.
4 Korthia, the City of Secrets First speak with Ve'nari then go to 58 20 and speak with Tal-Galan then follow him.
5 Who is the Maw Walker? Speak with Tal-Galan You will learn The True Maw Walker ( now in Maw and Korthia You can use Mounts :D )
6 Opening to Oribos Activate Waystone 64 23 and use it to back to Oribos.
7 Charge of the Covenants Use skill on EXTRA BAR and move to portal. Return Quest to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon 62 24.
8 Surveying Secrets Get 4 reports:

1 - Keeper's Respite Defense Report from Nadjia the Mistblade 61 25
2 - Fauna of Korthia Report from Featherlight 54 30
3 - Anima Survey Notes speak with Surveyor Mnemis 52 38 and kill Ravenous Gorger ( After kill you will get Anima Survey Notes automaticly )
4 - Mawsworn Movement Report first speak with Whisperer Vyn 59 31 then kill mobs to get item from drop.
Return Quest to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon 62 24.

9 In Need of Assistance Finish 3 Daily Quests From 3 deferent NPC:

1 - Ta'nasi Quest Observational Records - Pick up 5 Observational Record from Observation Device ( they looks line white orbs. 36 49, 36 46, 34 45, 32 44 and 31 51
2 - Kael'thas Sunstrider Quest Anima Reclamation - Go to 55 20 and kill mobs and get 8 Devoured Anima from drop.
3 - Mikanikos Quest We Need a Healer - You! - Go to 51 51 and use Mikanikos' Restorative Contraption on 10 Kyrian Guardian.
When You done all 3 Daily Quests move back to finish them then go to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon 62 24 to finish Campaign Quest.

There is nothing wrong with the quest. It's not buggy. After you take the quest wait just a few seconds. Look at your mini map. Your target appears on it. It's a small portal. Run down there and click on it. The path to the portal is on the right as you run to Venari. You can see the portal after talking to Venari.

If it bugs, far faster to abandon the quest, cypher back to her, and restart it.

Travel with Ve'nari to the site of the new landmass within the Maw

Description

The Maw is changing, mortal. And with change comes opportunity. The Jailer has pulled a realm that was hidden deep within the Shadowlands into the Maw. It is a location of some interest to me, but I do not wish to approach it alone. The Mawsworn are swarming the area, you see. There must be something of value that they seek. I have a safe enclave nearby. Accompany me there and I may be able to help you find that waystone you're looking for. Do we have a deal?
