If you're a hunter or other pet class, dismiss your pet this quest seems bugged and doesn't give credit if you attack the mobs and your pet gets involved.

If you're having issues getting credit from the non-elite mobs, attack the elite mobs instead. They live longer.

I present A New Path Storyline part of Chains of Domination which is the criteria for Breaking the Chains. This Story line have 15 Quests. To start it You need to have 56 Renown.

Quest Name:	Start and description
1 A Paladin's Soul	Start Quest from Thenios 62 25 Korthia. Now You need to go to Torghast and use Wayfinder 37 46. On Floor 3 You need to kill Keeper Hazaduum then use Portal of Souls 33 28 to pick up Remnant of Justice 40 30. Then leave Torgast and move to Bastion 40 19.
2 Wounded Memories	Press on Remnant of Justice 40 20 next to Uther, cinematic will start.
3 Step Into the Light	Use Soul Mirror 40 20 next to Uther. You will be move to Uther's memory. First If You don't see Extra Bar You need to turn off addone ( mine was Dominos and is just for this quest after you can turn on ). When You have Extra bar press it under Gold mark after ceremony open door then kill 10 mobs and destroy 6 Plagued Grain ( use extra bar spell ). Skill 1 - single dmg, 2-3 AOE dmg skill 4 to move.
4 He Was My Student	Use Soul Mirror 40 20 next to Uther. You will be move to Uther's memory. After conversation defeat Arthas Menethil to 40%.
5 I Intend to Live Forever	Use Soul Mirror 40 20 next to Uther. You will be move to Uther's memory. Slay 10 mobs and rescue 5 citizens /way 42 65 /way 41 66 /way 42 68 /way 45 71 /way 45 73 . After that go to fight with Arthas Menethil 45 69 ( You can't win xD )
6 Blind Loyalty	Use Kyrian Courier 40 19 to get to Elysian Hold and speak with Polemarch Adrestes 55 42 cinematic will start.
7 Compassion in Devotion	Go to 24 30 in bastion.
8 Reclaimable Anima	Next 3 quest together. Get 5 Tainted Centurion Core is drop from Mechanical mobs: Automated Defender, Dark Sentinel and Ravening Guardian.
9 Rebuilding Faith	Convince 10 Forsworn to return to the Path. This better to do solo if you kill them to fast you will not convince them, they get convince when low HP by them self.
10 Directing Dedication	First press on 2 Anima Channeler /way 24 22 /way 22 24 then press on 2 Anima Collector /way 22 23 /way 22 22 then on 2 Gate Vesper /way 20 21 /way 20 24 . Return Quest to Polemarch Adrestes 20 22 use flying He is floating in the air.
11 The Vesper Rings	Defend him by slaying Arso'un the Caged
12 A Triumphant Return	Meet Polemarch Kalisthene 37 61 at Elysian Hold. Use Kyrian Courier 20 22 to get there.
13 The Grand Reception	Speak with Polemarch Kalisthene 37 61 at Elysian Hold. You will be teleported. Now speak with Uther, Mikanikos, Kleia and Pelagos after that 4 speak with Polemarch Kalisthene 56 30
14 The New Path	Speak with Polemarch Kalisthene 56 30 you will be teleported, then speak with Kleia 43 67 cinematic will start.
15 New Sigil of the Kyrian	Speak with The Primus In Korthia. Use Anima Gateway To Oribos 50 71 if need it.

I'm here to admire the brilliant, brilliant writing. So, after admitting that Forsworn were basically right and it is indeed a good idea to keep the memories, we are trying to convince them to join Kyrian (which admitted to being wrong in the first place) once again, by beating the living crap out of them, or eventually killing them if they refuse. Man oh man, if this doesn't make you feel like a terrorist, I don't know what will.

Your two companions actually deal out quite a bit of damage, so make sure you leave the Forsworn with enough hitpoints, that they have time enough to change their minds, before Uther and Nikolon kill them.

The quest itself is fine, but the way you have to progress in it is so dumb that on the world competition of dumb things it'd get second place, cause it's too dumb to get the first.

As an unholy DK I've dismissed the ghoul and used autoatack on elite mobs. They live long enough to listen to what Nicolon is trying to tell them. If the mob says something like "I'll never trust Archon again" - kill them, they cannot be reasoned with.

Did anyone else notice some of the forsworn speaking in Demonic? Kind of suspicious on what that's all about.

Not convinced this isn't random whether they convert or not. Like looting for something. Doesn't seem to matter how long they live having done this on a few alts. VERY difficult to do at rush hour as everyone is tagging everything and multi killing. And some people just being jerks killing your mob on purpose. Best way I found was to find a quiet corner off at the far end and just keep tagging the same respawns

Don't hand this quest in first if you want to keep Uther and Nikolon around for dealing with the centurions. They'll immediately leave when you do.

Alright, so, after getting very frustrated with my results I think I have figured out the best way to get this quest done quickly. Give Uther and Nikolon multiple elites/non elites to pound so they stay alive long enough to "choose."

Did anyone at Blizzard play these quests?

1. Elite area with Elite mobs that will kill you if you're not careful
2. You also have to damage the mobs enough to get them to change
3. High chance they WON'T so you have to kill them
4. You would think they would give you buffs to not die or DPS more, lol no.
5. If you turn this quest in first before doing the Reclaimable Anima quest, Uther and Nikolon leave and you have to solo the Elite centurions.

This quest very well be the reason I quit this game. Nothing fun about it. 30 minutes in and only halfway done. Gross.

if this is taking too long, you're probably killing them too fast.

The idea is to "convince" them to repent, by kicking their asses. They need enough time to change their minds.
You will see a debuff they get after Uther speaks one of his lines: Seed of Doubt.
Once this is applied, they will repent and count for the quest. You must give them enough time for it to be applied, and don't kill them before they get it.
Aggro them, then have Uther and the other one deal with them. Don't kill them too fast.

This way it should go much faster.

Yet another one of these absolutely dogs#%t quests where you get stuck at 8-9/10 and killing more than double the population in these locations. Lazy devs relaying everything to RNG for the 100.000.000th time in a row. Doesnt matter if i dps them slowly either like other suggest. Terrible, horrible, horrendous.

Kind of a stupid quest from a story and just logic sense (not to mention all the wonderful RNG).

We beat them, why would we spend too much effort on ones that want to fight still. They lost.
The whole thing is kind of silly, literally they've been doing it this way for eons and somehow we're supposed to believe that poor Uther breaks the mold?
Why would you want all these forsworn back who are literally traitors and killed your compatriots?

One of the things I originally liked about this xpac, at the beginning at least, is it seemed to put Azeroth in its place (not the center of the universe). But now we're back to Azeroth at the center again.

Edit: After doing this quest on several of my toons this quest gets my vote as the worst one in this xpac so far. This is the kind of quest that you want to force a Quest Designer to have to play themselves over and over again...

Because that's basically what this quest is about... beat the $#!+ out of them until they either die or "see the light".

Attack the elite Ardent Warriors, they live long enough to count. The Assuming Scholars can summon in adds that can make things really hectic.

If there was a book, a guide for game developers to help them make better games, this quest would used as the perfect example of what to NEVER do. Ever. It's horrible. It isn't fun. It doesn't make any sense to the story. It's a useless, frustrating time sink that teeters on the brink of being a reason to unsubscribe completely. Whoever came up with this vomitus mass should feel bad about themselves and worse about choosing to become a game developer.

Garbage quest which is one of many in the Shadowlands Expansion, does question if the Devs do actually play their own game.

Anyway, I found a ring of Aspirants around 27,27, if you aggro them one at a time then let Uther and Nikolon aggro them ( and you stop doing damage), they 99% of the time become convinced.

I had 6 in a row and completed the quest quicker then attacking mobs elsewhere.

This really is the most pisspotical quest I've come upon in a while, among a whole pantheon of pisspotical quests that were designed for Shadowlands.

What on earth were the developers thinking when they made this? I sincerely hope the person who created this quest was one of the Blizzard staff who sent a female colleague a @#$% pic and got sacked.

It really is dreadful, for all the reasons mentioned in this thread. Just terrible.

Terrible concept, absurdly hard, utterly ridiculous, very low chance of getting one of the ten you need, and so on. 0/10. And that's being kind.

This is the weirdest advice i'll ever give but undress before you start this quest. With a lower ilvl they die slower. They died with my ilvl this high even though i wasn't fighting them. The 2 helpers apparently also fight weaker if you're weaker. So STRIP baby!

Guide on completing this quest (DO NOT KILL)

Only aggro or pull one mob at a time
Group play won't help here - go solo
As a Prot Pally (or any other toon) - all you have to do here is aggro the mob and then stay behind uther or nikolan --- this works...just keep doing defensives. do not attack. let uther and nikolan take the aggro.

This has got to be one of the worst quests I've ever done in my 15 years of playing WoW. It's just plain boring and bad design.
As a druid I ended up attacking the mobs initially to tag them but then went into bear form and just sat there while Uther and Nikolon were either able to convince them or kill them eventually. There was nothing engaging/fun about it, just waiting around for RNG and as is the case with a lot of max level RNG based quests, it takes ages.

Not to mention the fact that we're there to convince these guys that everything's all good now and they can keep their beliefs and memories if they join us. But if they don't, we kill them?

As an added side note, the area and the hostile mobs don't change after this quest because it still has to be used as a world quest area. They could have at least added some kind of phasing.

For those trying this quest at higher levels, I personally found going after the non-elite mobs with Soft Foam Sword to be the most effective method

At around 27, 26 (outside where the map tells you to do this) there is a circle of aspirants that you can pull one at a time. Good place to get this done.

to show how terribly designed this quest is.. try it after shadowlands..

essentially what you wanna do is unequip your weapon. that's an issue. only go after the elites. make sure you use one abilty to hurt and aggro them (For example paladins judgement) and then leave uther and whatshisface wear them down.

So this quest is pretty terrible to do at level 80. I had to completely strip down and I used the Soft Foam Sword that Eatyerface suggested and that only worked 1-2 times for me.

I, as a Paladin, pulled the elites using Judgment or just meleeing them and hoped I'd get credit. It took me ~20 minutes to complete the quest this way.

I don't know what Blizzard is thinking when they create quests like this that requires you do deal a certain amount of damage so another NPC can interact with the mob. It's not an issue AT level, but people do quests at higher levels too (especially if they are returning to the game after a long hiatus) and they really need to take that into consideration when creating quests.
