As usual, this quest was not well thought through. Alliance & Horde both camping the NPC. Horde keeps one shotting it when it spawns, which does not give adequate time for the second NPC to appear for the quest. And yet, they cannot figure it out and just keep doing it over and over. The whole realm is sitting here watching a few horde do this continuously. Cannot progress past the quest :(

Convincing people to not kill the dragon is hopeless. Don't bother. Try to death grip the dragon away or get a control undead off.

Easiest way to get this guy is to target and control undead, giving enough time for the rider to spawn. Might take a minute to manage to snag him, but that's how we (finally) managed to get him to spawn.

Hi guys

Can anyone tell me how you return to this instance. I can not figure it out and I have researched the net and there is nothing about it. I have no portal in my order hall. I've been to the pit of sarin and it's just the dungeon.

Seems it's been fixed and the rider will spawn without the drake being targetable.

Why would they not make this an individual instance rather than letting every Death Knight and their mother join and leaving it so open to abuse? They made Icecrown Citadel a solo instance for the Frost Artifact quest, but this? NOPE.

EDIT: It's been fixed so Andjor Dragontamer actually spawns with the Broodmother, making this quest actually beatable. Really, don't know how it got through testing in that state...

So here's a great way to speed this up assuming it's still packed with people killing it repeatedly:

-Tell everyone to stop attacking it because the actual quest mob needs to spawn on the drake (you can add a couple people of the opposite faction to bnet and have them spread the word as well)
-Tell everyone to spam control undead instead (the mob can spawn on the drake while it's friendly)
-Go blood, and make this macro:

/targetenemy
/cast Dark Command
/cast Death Grip
/cast Control Undead

-Stand in a spot where the drake will land behind line of sight of most of the people
-When the mob first appears (before it's attackable), place a death and decay underneath it and spam the macro like crazy.
-Repeat until successful

I'm pretty sure the mob will just respawn on top of the friendly drake again, but the second guy appeared for me a little after his first corpse despawned right when I released him - so I'm not sure if it's tied to that or not.

Although still extremely annoying on PvP servers, it seems like now you can tag cross-faction and he drops the loot. Had to corpse hop only couple of times to loot and get the hell out of that place.

ok for all the dk's trying to do this quest I have been playing around with the cross realm and was able to get it completed by making a premade group under the custom tab by listing the "title' looking for low population realm for death knight quest. in comments I put please invite me to your realm if it is a low pop area do not join my group you may have to play with it a little but eventually it will zone you to a area you can do it others have tried this and It worked for them as well good luck and good hunting from stormrage

Andjor Dragontamer can be found in the north building. He riding a dragon and you have to slay it first.
Fight is simple easy, so defeat him and take Rimefang's Harness.

So I failed this "easy quest" twice. The broodmother is a far cry from a one shot kill, despite what the comments here claim. Third time I killed the dragon, and now Andjor is standing there, with a NEW spawn of the Broodmother right behind him.... >_< At least I didn't aggro her as I Death Gripped him.

For this quest, Mograine meets you at the Ebon Hold (upstairs on the terrace). He tells you to go through the portal behind him to the Pit of Saron dungeon, whee you are to rendezvous with Minerva Ravensorrow (your next follower, the one you need to proceed with Legionfall campaign and Breaching the Tomb! quest line. Anyway, when you arrive at the main area, you briefly speak to Ravensorrow, before getting a couple of quests. You then go round killing and resurrecting. Finally, you go into a fancy cave, and kill Andjor Dragontamer, and of necessity, the Broodmother (dragon) he is riding. You grab the quest item from his corpse, and your quest is ready to turn in. From there, run back to Ravensorrow (while still in the Pit of Saron), turn in the quest, and as instructed, use the provided Death Gate to return to the Ebon Hold to meet again with Mograine. He gives you the next quest, which is "The Peak of Bones."

If for any reason you find yourself back in Dalaran and something isn't right, go back to the Ebon Hold, to the upstairs terrace where you met with Mograine. The Death Gate is behind him, and will take you back to the Pit or Saron, in case you have matters to finish up there.
