Ironically, it was Trollbane the one who provided by far the heaviest plot bombs during the DK Class Hall Campaign. One of them I did not see coming. If any of ye reading this wanted to one day see Stromgarde rise again...... well.......... you got it. Maybe not in the way you wanted, but you got it.

Turns out Prince Galen has seceded from the forsaken!!!! Moreover, he took with him all the other forsaken that were raised from Stromgardian citizens, formed an impromptu militia, and marched his forces towards Stromgarde, and conquered it. He kicked out the Syndicate, and kicked out the Ogres. And yes, he slayed the last living members of Stromgarde, and raised them as forsaken. How the hell he managed that without a valkyr, don't ask me. The game doesn't elaborate. He proclaimed himself "King" of stromgarde, and declared his independence. From the horde, the alliance, and anyone else. He says his kingdom is now sovereign land, and neither sylvanas, nor varian, nor anyone has any say on the fate of their lands.

When the knights of the Ebon Blade go to ask permission to access his father's grave (which can only be accessed with Trol'kalar, which is in Galen's hands) he says he'll agree only if you help him get rid of the last intruders in his kingdom. Turns out he was only able to clear out the segments of Stromgarde held by the syndicate and ogres. The trolls were too much for him and he can't get them out............

You do realize you have a sword, legendary for carving trolls like butter.

Whatever, we clear the trolls out, behead their leader, and then........ he just had to be stupid. Yep, in a strange turn of events, he says "Stromgarde is MINE, and neither Sylvanas, nor my father will take it back from me!!!!" and sics his guards on us. So we kill his paltry "honor guard", chase him to the Stromgardian chapel, have a final showdown, and he whines that we can't do this to him, he's king dammit!!!! >_>

I must add that Nazgrim is a complete BAMF both here and in the scarlet monastery, he's able to use Asphyxiate on multiple targets at once. Just like Saurfang Jr in Icecrown. Hey blizzard, when do we get THAT talent? *wink-wink*

We recover Trol'kalar from Galen's corpse, go to his father's grave, raise him, and what do you think its the first thing he asks us?

------------->"Where's my son? Where's Galen? Where is the prince that murdered his king?"

Hmm....... I did NOT see this coming. Ohh galen, you sneaky little #$%&er. You betrayed your old man, you betrayed sylvanas, you betrayed the very knights who helped you secure your kingdom. Now I don't feel like such a scumbag for having to kill you............ Again.

Anyhows, Thoras is apparently cut from the same cloth as Nazgrim. His kingdom may be dead and barren, but he'll be damned if he's just gonna sleep beneath the earth while a bunch of demons plan to take root on HIS soil. He'll fight. He does quite a display during the assault on the Scarlet Monastery I may add.

Sweet merciful god, that was a lot of stuff for just ONE Class Hall Campaign. There's still 11 more for the other classes. And this particular campagin is incomplete, since there's still Tirion left, and a few other stuff too.

You need to stand in just the right spot in front of the central sarcophagus for a popup button to appear.

Question, after I finished the quest, I can't find him anywhere in the Order Hall. What else do I need to do to get him as a follower?

Oh WOW!

I just finished the quest yeasterday and I must admit - Stromgarde fall now really makes sense. Even the toughest men led by incompetent ruler can't do !@#$ to protect Kingdom from degredation.

Go down into the Mausoleum and wait for Thassarian. Then stand in front of the grave and use extra button that appears - Raise Horseman.

Step By Step for the New / Returning Player in 2020....

CLUSTER OF QUESTS AT THIS AREA FOR THE DEATH KNIGHTS' CLASS HALL:
The Ruined Kingdom
Regicide
The King Rises

NOTE:
* I did this on my Horde DK
* You're gonna want flying in the previous expansion, WoD, to GET THERE, but no worries like previously about needing gliders and such-- no falls to worry with. If you cannot fly from WoD, you'll have to find an alternate means to reach the place, but start in Undercity. You've got a nice lil flight ahead of ya!

THE RUINED KINGDOM
1) Go to the Undercity; go outside and mount up, spread your wings if you have 'em!
2) Head to Stromgarde: /way Arathi Highlands 19.4 65.7 Stromgarde
3) You'll arrive at a old grey keep. Go inside and head up the stairs and then up and around a ramp-- for returning players, you did a quest here when you first started your DK; it should look familiar. He'll acknowledge you, will grant ya access if you do a kill-and-collect quest for him.
* There's two quests available; everything is in the same area anyway.
* So there's no surprises-- there's several 110 (Elite/Gold Circle) roaming in the old village, so multiple mobs, but they're easy to kill
4) Head back to the SAME LOCATION (Blizzard likes to mix it up, but not in the case thankfully) and turn it in.

REGICIDE
5) He'll betray you, of course, and sic the guards on you. An easy fight outside. Fight your way around (fly if able) and go into the church and kill him.
6) Go outside, to the left, and down into the Crypt to turn in the quest.
* Others noted this is seriously bugged! If you don't see him to turn it in, try some of the other stuff people do such as logging out there and back in at the Crypt.

THE KING RISES
7) Walk down and watch as they raise the old king and there's some brief conversation. The old king opens his own Death Gate and heads back to Ebon Hold.
8) Use your own Death Gate and return to turn in the quest to Highlord Darion Mograine.
* This involves no fighting, but it's seriously buggy. You'll probably curse a lot here-- I know I did. Down in the crypt, they'll open a Death Gate. Standing around, nothing happens, no dead guy-- still buggy! Both NPCs followed me downstairs initially, one opened a Death Gate. Nothing initially happened when I did it the first time. Long story short, I had to make the flight to Arathi Highlands yet AGAIN. If you get in this jam, log completely out and then log back in.

Description

King Thoras was one of the greatest warriors this world has known.

His people loved him and his enemies feared him. He only ever spoke truth, often saying the words others were afraid to speak.

King Thoras lived a life of war and he certainly deserves the peace of death. But this is not a man who would sleep peacefully while the world around him burns.

The time has come, Deathlord, to welcome the last true King of Stromgarde into the arms of the dead and damned.
