You need to keep in mind that this shaman quest reward was made in mind that enhancement shamans were better off with 2H weapons Pre-BC.

Yes, it is very good for a Hunter - HOWEVER it is a Shaman ONLY quest thus..
- Only Horde can get it
- Only Shamans can get it

This is very usefull for elemental shamans. Because they mostly use spells to pull and shocks in battle, its also good to have a strong weapon that can swiftly kill ur enemy when ur mana is low.

Whats with all the ppl saying hunter weapon, they get their spear at lvl 50 some, but the trinket would be better(a bit off topic) but this staff seems better for enhancement shamans, if a staff that good dropped i would use it on my shaman.

I would think it like this: trinket is for any shammies, gloves is elemental, and staff is (with no disscussion) an enchancement weapon! no hunter, no druid, just enchancement shaman! Or, of course as you say, for an oom'd elemental shammy. But didn't that sound correct? I think it does... I'm still wondering if I should pick the staff, or the trinket on my enchancement specced dual wielding shammy. Please somebody post which one i should take. Thank you!

zomg this is UBER enchancement shammy staff i want it!
+10 str PWNAGE
+10 stam (100 health) PWNAGE
+9 int (270 mana) PWNAGE
this can also be good for elemental shammy BUT really if you were in a group in a dungeon where you could run out of mana some people might ask you if you have enough mana pots...

this staff has way too low top-end damage to be a good enhance shaman weapon.

The Trinket is the only valuable choice for the quest.

I guess Blizzard doesn't even know how their own classes work, giving us a 2.5 speed 2h staff as a quest reward. That's like a slap in the face while the other classes get things that are actually useful.

Why would ne Self respecting lvl 50+ enhance shammy use a slow ass 2h wep? i say that blizz should replace the staff w/ a 1h wep that has the same stats, just lowered to make the wep not godly insane that way an ele shammy could get the gloves, a resto or a smart shammy could get the trinket (cause u could prolly use it till 70 to help regen mana) and an enhance shammy to get the 1h wep. this quest was prolly designed pre BC when shammys couldnt DW, so we should post somthing on Blizz forums to try to get it changed

Can anyone put a link to the "better staff that you get in DM which is better than this one"? I am an Ench shammy, this staff looks tempting, but everyone says to go for the trinket, and I rly need a wep. Although I am an ench shammy, so I can't see why should I use a two-handed wep.

If you intend on ever choosing anything besides the Enamoured Water Spirit the WoW gods will hack your account and delete your shaman permanently. They may then locate your house and smack you about the head and shoulders for a good while.

This makes staves viable for shammies again as melee weapons, but I think the mini mana tide totem would be more useful because it will be used at 60 as well.
