Excellent PvP boots for a rogue or feral druid. The only thing that can really compare to these is the Arathi Basin boots, however, they lack the increase to stealth and only the level 58 ones are comparable in quality.

If you intend on running BRD during your fifties, I would opt for taking these boots as the reward, as odds are you'll pick up Ghostshroud during one of your runs, which is slightly better than the Ebon Mask.

The following items give the following bonuses to stealth. 5 points means that you will be as difficult to detect in stealth as a character one level higher. (So if you are a level 22 character and have 15 stealth bonus points, you will be as difficult to detect as a level 25 character with none.)

These look like black jackboots - very cool. In fact, lookswise, all the rewards look cool.

I too am in dilemna about whether to take the boots in replacement for the albino crocskins; IMHO the 1 stealth level isn't as sweet as the bonus offered by the mask though.

what does the stealth-level actually does?
does it increase the movementspeed?

cap - easily get replaced with better
boots - easilty replaced with better and it'll mess up ur set bonuses
cape - allows u to jump to mc/ jump from LM and to mines in AB/ jump down ubrs ledge without taking dmg and unstealhthing, tons more uses. sure u lose 16ap from not using barons..thats like 1 dps. sure u can do more dmg but dmg is nothing when ur dead.

epic'd out gear the only cape i'd use over this is puissant cape.

Are there any other boots that give +stealth level aside from nightscape boots and these? If not, I think these might be the best reward for the quest, for pvp.

One thing I'm wearing 100% of the time in pvp now is the Nightscape Boots... I wish I whould have taken these boots to not nerf myself that much...

On my second 60 Rogue, I got these instead of the cap. I think they work great with PvP (even though they can be upgradeD). I think any of the quest rewards are useful, if you ask yourself certain questions.

For the cap, do you plan on being in combat a lot and wanting to get a few extra crits out?

For the boots, do you plan on stealthing around a lot so that you might not be seen by the opposing faction or certain instance NPCs?

For the cape, do you plan on falling a lot?

I can't stand having to choose between the boots or the mask! (cape seems like the least appetizing pick...) In the short run the mask seems better, but has anybody else noticed the lack of good boots in the game? I'm taking the boots. They don't seem like they will get replaced as quickly.

With the 1.10 patch, these boots are now worthless. The Darkmantle Boots will become the newest +1 stealth boots, and easily the best. As the Ebon Mask is not even better than Helm of Fire, imo, this leaves only the cape as the viable option for this quest. Unfortunately, I chose the boots, not knowing about the new boot bonus. I think Blizzard should allow me to redo this quest. I really wish I had the cape now for extra falling damage.

after spending 1 hour of research 1.10 made the cap and boots not worthless but if you figured the new darkmantle has this effects as well go for nightscape boots for now then get albino but keep the nightscape boots in ur bags until u get the newest darkmantle boots

go for the CAPE just like the above comment u might use it more and always have it on ur bags

to make it shorter look for another cape that has the same procs as the Duskbat Drape

Well sure you can get the Darkmantle boots, but how much is that going to cost? im sure it will cost alot. You will spend at least 400g on the DM set. So take that into consideration when you plan on choosing your reward

I have a 34 rogue....still newbie but its just an alt....if i was 52 i would choose the cape with no prob.....look, a cape is one of the less important pieces of armor...and it will remain with you much longer than the boots or mask....because im pretty sure that (if you choose boots or mask), you will find something better to replace it sooner than you would do with the cape dont u think?

The boots say they increase your effective stealth level by 1. Is it equivalent to +1 skill point in master of deception (which adds 3 points of subtelty), or is it equivalent to being one level above your opponent(5 points of subtelty), or is it just 1 point of subtelty?

This was a hard decision for me to make but I went with the boots. I dont know about you but I dont expect to have the darkmantle boots just fall into my lap any time soon. I like to sneak around in instances, and its not to hard to change boots when you pick up better. I just picked up shadowcraft boots the other day and still keep theese around in my bag. I got a speed increase enchant on em and always change into em when im sneaking around. They make a big difference you can almost walk right up on the dogs in BRD with theese on.

What does the stealth level increase do?
Is it like the other Stealth Level increases(harder for others to see me AND faster movement)or is it just the "Deception" bonus?

This really is a no brainer :)

First consider ussage:
Helm: Will be used every fight
Boots: Used at least half of your fights, more on PvP servers.
Cape: Used MAYBE daily if you only run MC

Now consider alternatives:
Helm: I can think of 4 alternates, first would be Helm Of Fire until you get one of the +2 crit helms. HoF offers .56% less crit but gives more AP and 1% more dodge, as well as the 350 damage instant cast ranged fireball which is key in PvP, and the other helms offer up to +2 crit.

Cape: Only 1, Parachute cape, but again, how often is it used.

Boots: Albanio Croc boots if your looking at stats, nightscape if you want the stealth bonus, NONE if you want both.

Summary: The Boots are used far more then the cape, they are a perfect blend of Albino and Nightscape (only sacrificing 2 Ag and 1 stam to get the stealth bonus!), and unlike the helm don't have several better upgrades.

I found better boots. Highlander's Leather Boots. There is less agility but it comes with +12 attack power AND run speed enchant. You can put something fun on these, like mith sper's or +7 agility!

The boots: Only rogues get theese, and they are in stealth kind of often, thats why boots is necessary, but ofc u will get better boots, and u cant use theese at 70 (at least not recommended)
so the will be replaced kinda fast, same for the mask. Looks nice nad is nice, but u will replace this. The cape, nice agi and reducing fallsped (<3) But even if this get replaced, u should save it. It WILL come in handy, have it in bag and use when you going to jump from high...

This is THE item to choose between the 3. The reason is simple; you can have a bettter cape and a better helm in only 2 lvls if you have 50. The boots will last longer, and 1 stealth lvl is good.

These are some badass shoes, excepts you can only get this, OR the Ebon Mask, OR the Duskbat Drape :-(

These are kinda like a lvl 52 Blue Version of the Nightscape boots. More Agility,some good ole Stamina on there, and of course, Improved Stealth by one player lvl. Very nice boots. Love to see a screenshot, if anyone gets these and sees this. I really wanna know what they look like :-)

These (with a +run speed enchant) are my baby. Use them in all battlegrounds. I use boots with better stats on them for instances and the like.

Ebon Mask you can find better any day of the week, and while I looked longingly at the Duskbat Drape (I would like to be able to fall long distances without breaking stealth, especially in AB), the stats are painful. Plus these boots have the unique +1 stealth level modifier -- I was using Nightscape Boots in AV up until these. :/

Im not sure what the math is on master of deception, But I for one intend on getting these seeing as they have the stealth modifier, and I hate being popped in instances for lack of stealthiness.

Although, if not for these, duskbat cape would be the prime choice, seeing as ebon mask really is just an old place holder for anything of 52+
