Best reward from the ST mage quest by far since the dagger is useless and has a average low % percent chance to restore a whole 50 mana!(sarcasm) and the Fire trinket is very aveage aswell mainly because it only adds a extra 100 and restores a large range between 1 - 500 mana for only 1 fire spell.

This trinket is great because it'll easily last your confortably at 60 its one of the highest +damage blue necks in the game, your next upgrade would probably be Choker of the Fire Lord(https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=18814) if you lucky to get your hands on it.

In answer to the comment is this any good or not - yes - this is a very good item ... if you plan on casting more than 6 fireballs in 3 mins then this would do add more dmg to your total than the fire trinket one ... and this will help with all dmg spells not just your fireball ...

I believe this is a good item. Do a search for necklace items that add +damage to your spells. You will only find one-- Choker of Enlightenment --

Thats an MC loot, and a very rare one at that. This thing is great. +16 to all spells on a rare slot for such a thing. Currently, I get +290 to all frost spells in my full +damage gear. Every bit counts, and this will add onto that.

i like ammy from SM much more than this one if u compare lvls :S

only hunters have all good rewards from their 50 quest =P (don't like polearm anyway)

this is awesome, the other quest rewards (especially the glacial spike) is far worse then this.

I am taking this one when I get my mage to 40

on this pendant what does it mean by arcane crystals are best used by mages. is it something to make the next less stronger or more powerful. or is it something that does nothing

I must be missing something here. This item is mage-only and it says it enhances healing effects. Mages don't have healing spells. Perhaps this is a typo?

If you are a fire mage simply use a necklace such as Ruby Pendant of Fire that gives +16 fire damage.

Go for the trinket instead if you are a dedicated fire mage.

look guys, this is ridiculous. if you are a fire mage get the trinket, its a great add for the rare slot, and there ARE better necklaces out there at this level.

has ok +dmg and drops in ST, an instance you will probably be running when you do this quest, definetly not impossible to get, and better than this. this way you get the best of both worlds, a big(ish) +dmg and an awesome fire trinket.

Fire Ruby is MUCH better.. Always take it when u have a mage :) U can put it AND another trinket on activated the same frigging time.. :O

The reward is excellent considering the lack of + damage necklaces outside of endgame raiding. What you're asking for is something that would be on an epic item.
