If you dont want to set your hearthstone in leveling areas, dont worry: there's a portal in OG (Valley of Wisdom) back to Twilight Highlands.

The Hyjal portal unlocked for me after this quest (or rather, after I received this quest).

Pretty sure this is the quest that makes the Hyjal portal active.

I just took the portal to Org, but I didn't get credit, meaning the return portal wasn't there either... now I gotta take the Zep to UC and fly the old-fashioned way... whee.

For the record, since Legion pre-patch, you have to turn in to Vol'jin, who is at coordinates 52, 81, outside of the inn near the entrance to Orgrimmar.

For anyone who is following the storyline of the zone, the original quest had you returning to Garrosh. However it's now handed into Saurfang as Garrosh is, well, dead in the current timeline.

So uh, after Garrosh is dead, this was supposed to be turned in to Vol'Jin. Now he's dead too so it became Saurfang. Now Saurfang is dead too...and this quest can't be completed in BFA... I've got a GM ticket open so hopefully a solution can be found..

For anyone having trouble finding Saurfang for the turn in. I put in a ticket and they told me to finish the quest line "The Dark Lady Calls" and he will pop up. I finished the quest line, which ends in Grommash Hold, and there he was, ready and waiting.

In 9.0 Saurfang has been miraculously resurrected from death just so you can turn in this quest. It must be more important than I thought.

10.0.2: If you're trying to start the chain to unlock the portal (as a new Evoker, boosted char, etc):

I had to complete The Heart of Azeroth before Eitrigg would give me Machines of War (handing in Warchief's Command: Twilight Highlands! just dead ended initially...)

If you're an Orc and can't see Saurfang, you might need to finish the first part (scenario) of the Orc Heritage Questline A People in Need of Healing.
Saurfang reappeared once I handed in the quest to Aggra in OG.

Use the portal in Dragonmaw Port to go to Orgrimmar and report to High Overlord Saurfang.

Description

The portal is ready!

It's not powerful enough to transport an army, but we can maintain the connection long enough to allow important individuals to pass back and forth.

Saurfang will want to know about our progress here. Walk through the portal to Orgrimmar, then deliver the news him.
