Note that the quest item is not party loot, so only 1 player in a party can loot it. For the first few days of cataclysm the following macro should be useful:
/tar King
/cast <instant attack>

Replace <instant attack> with whatever ability you use to tag mobs, like Icelance, then spam that macro.

The spawnrate of the king has been increased in a recent hotfix.

If you are having trouble locating him, look for the large open clam with strands of colorful beads hanging from it.

Trying to do this quest last night and he was not dropping the pounder. Killed him three or four times, no one else was around, wasn't in a group or anything.

In order to getPay Attention! you must completeGirding Our Loins before acceptingHelm's Deep.
Better Late Than Dead andThe Abyssal Ride are NOT needed to takeGimme Shelter! and followups, however that would make you unable to getGood Deed Left Undone.
Lady La-La's Necklace have 0% drop chance beforeOphidophobia done and 100% after, however anyone can share you this quest as long as you are 80+lvl.
Anyone can takeVengeful Heart and do it's followups as long as they are 80+lvl. Quests above are NOT needed for it.

This is a convenient time to do The Horde's Hoard, which starts
from Tattered Treasure Map, dropped by Clacksnap Pincer

Next comes Can't Start a Fire Without a Spark

This allows for the optional quest Nerve Tonic, and the optional Bud Chain:

Around this time, kill Gilblin Collectors and hope
Lady La-La's necklace drops for Lady La-La's Medallion. There are conflicting reports of what quests are needed for the item to drop.
This is also a good time to kill Gilblingle for waterlogged journal which starts Blackfin's Booty.

Spelunking
Debriefing
Wake of Destruction
(also unlocks What? What? In My Gut...? and Decompression)
Come Hell or High Water (While in naga camp, pick up How Disarming)

53.6, 58.0 is correct. Be sure not to confuse him with Gilblingle (51.1, 52.1), the other not-normal and also "G"-named Gilblin in the area.
