There is a ledge up above the main room. As you leave the room where Duarn is trying to communicate with Nespirah, it's to the left and gradually goes up. An entire set of quests takes place up there, as well.

as you work your way up and around, do not take the tube to the heart chamber, go left around the wall, through the camps.

Guide to Vashj'ir Shimmering Expanse Alliance quests:

The Vashj'ir quests start in Stormwind with Call of Duty.
The immediate pre-requisite for these quests is Across the great Divide which starts in Kelp'thar Forest .

Find the Alliance survivors inside of Nespirah in Vashj'ir.

Description

<Duarn closes his eyes, pauses, and nods.>

Nespirah has just informed me that we are not the only people fighting inside of this shell. A small group of Alliance slaves has escaped and is currently fighting off the naga on the other side of the shell, up on the ledge that overlooks Nespirah's heart.

Go find them, <name>, and see what help they can lend us. With their aid, we may be able to rouse Nespirah from her torpor.
