Quest #2879 where you "unwittingly" help someone villainous, they let you "live for now" and will probably be killed at a later date as a dungeon or raid boss.

Could possibly by a cache issue at my end but just did this quest for the 5th time and the quest objective item was Banshee Essence although odd since I haven't touched Strat since last time I cleared my cache. The quest mob dropped the essence it completed fine just though it strange.

When you complete this quest, head back to the Grove of Aessina where you've just been questing. There will now be a quest available called Last Stand at Whistling Grove. I totally missed this first time through as Tyrus Blackhorn doesn't explicitly tell you to go back to Aessina so I just thought I was done there.

You can only summon Thol'embaar when the area is on fire (hence the inferno in the quest description). If you enter area and it's called Regrowth then come back later.

As I had never seen the valley in the above state, I wasted time standing toe to toe with Raging Firestorm's in case they had an "inferno" effect that would allow wand to work. And to further confuse me, other players around me were successfully summoning the named even though the valley appeared green to me.

When you complete the quest, and thereby crush the heart to ashes, Tyrus starts an incantation:
"Ashes from the plane below,
Scattered by the hand of foe,
Gods of terror, quake and thunder,
Tear these mortal bonds asunder!"

Use the Charred Branch within The Inferno to Summon Thol'embaar. Kill him and take the Black Heart of Thol'embaar.

Description

Now you will use our newfound knowledge to pull Thol'embaar into the mortal plane like a babe screaming from the womb. Then you will crush him.

The ritual is simple: take this charred branch, tap it on the ground three times, and utter his name aloud.

You must call him from within the heart of the Inferno. Destroy him, and bring his black heart back to me.
