at 56.70 there is a clear path with no lava coming from the west. I had a fairly easy time getting to him and i dont see what the hubbub is all about. can also come from the N and jump off a hill with mount to avoid the lava

First take off all your gear and die near Shadowmoon Village , than run to Chief Apothecary Hildagard(58, 70), after u talk to him, u DONT have run to back, just use AUTO UNSTUCK than u will be port back to Shadowmoon Village :D.

What's all the fuss about? I just walked up to him and killed about 3 of those air elemental's in my way, and completed the quest. How is this difficult? :/

You do NOT need to be dead to complete this quest. If you have flying mount, just fly to the coords 58.71.

Nobody should be dying for this quest. You run straight down from Netherwing Fields, taking the path between the mountains. I'm not sure how you could miss it, it's right on the Shadowmoon Valley map.

There is a very simple way to get to him for WARRIORS when you don't have a flying mount. When you come to the Dragonmaw territory, at the gate, go to the far right. There you will see a "Dragonmaw Drake-Rider". Kill him and his mount off and then look up into the valley between the mountains where you will eventually see a Netherskate pat back and forth. Get close enough to the mountain side and charge him. You'll appear up next to the Netherskate, kill him off and you bypass alot of extra mobs while taking the back door :)

Alright, I know that this may be the wrong place for this comment but I am having difficulty finding a way to start this chain.. and I am not the only one.

That link is for the initial quest in the chain but when I visit Fantei he does not have a quest to give.

Does anyone have any insight into why this is?
Is wowhead missing another prior step?

If you have not explored the Netherwing Fields, it does not show on the map, which is why many people are going through the Path of Conquest.

I've noticed on several different pages now at how quickly some players suggest playing naked for the smallest reason.
Perhaps if their toon is a blood elf female, it would be understandable. But if not, then I shudder at the thought...

For 5 minutes a spell is cast on you. Use the powers given; haste, absorb damage, death and decay, and attack. Use powers on cool downs. I had to fight him a few times to get the hang of it but shouldn't be a problem for more skilled players.

Chief Apothecary Hildagard at Shadowmoon Village in Shadowmoon Valley wants you to find the Ancient Shadowmoon Spirit.

If you lose your Spectrecles, Chief Apothecary Hildagard can make you a new pair.

Description

Stories abound about the life of Teron Gorefiend, but most are just that - stories. We do not know what happened to Gorefiend after he returned to Draenor.

The only thing we are certain of is that he has already died once.

I have heard the scouts here speaking of an ancient orc spirit that resides at the Altar of Shadows, far to the southeast, across the Netherwing Fields and through Netherwing Pass. Take the Spectrecles and track this orc down. He will surely have more information on Gorefiend.
