Also, casting Levitate on him makes him fly. Weird.

Edit: word on the Blizzard forums is that it's a bug, and he's not supposed to have 39.4 million HP.

For those having trouble with Light's Wrath, right click it ONCE, and then just keep yourself alive for 30 seconds using shields and healing.

I died several times with the mistake of re-clicking the staff, which would reset the timer.

To start the scenario, you have to head under the Oculus entrance to the lowest floor of the Nexus and into the dungeon entrance.

If you're having real trouble staying alive and you'd like to cheat try the following steps.

1. Switch specialization to Holy
2. Take the Afterlife tier 3 talent.
3. Engage the pole.
4. Try to stay alive for at least 8 seconds by spamming flash heal.
5. If you die but at least survived for 8 seconds then come back in 22 seconds and see the quest is complete.

Congrats! You cheater!

Several expansions too late, but they were good times.

He used to be a world raid boss prior to cataclysm for the people that started playing since then.

The last step, grabbing the weapon is absurdly easy if you understand. You'll click on the weapon and stay alive for 8 seconds while it expends righteous fury. You win! As Discipline all I used was Word of Shield, Pain Suppression up front, and plea. I ended it at full health.

I finished the previous quest and this quest didn't pop up for several minutes. I ended up getting this quest 5-10 minutes after completing the previous one, just by flying around outside randomly. If you're having trouble getting this quest after completing the previous one, that's the best I can suggest.

To defeat Nexus Prince Bilaal:

Before riding the dragon across the rift, be in holy spec.

I used holy fire, smite, and flash heal. Once the dragon drops you on the platform to fight Bilaal run down the ramp (it was always to my left).

Get to the bottom of the ramp, heal up. Keep him targeted, when he begins to cast Gravity Force, run in range cast holy fire and smite (4-5 times). Stop with enough of his cast bar left for you to run back to the bottom of the ramp. If he drops a purple circle with an orb you can easily run into that taken a small amount of damage to get rid of it (this causes a small knock back, I would advise against having your back to the edge). Keep doing this until he's dead.

If you allow him to complete the gravity force cast he will pull you back onto the platform which will likely result in death. I used desperate prayer, holy word: serenity, and renew as needed.

1. The Nexus Vault (Scenario)
• Use Kalec's Image Crystal, in your inventory to summon the Image of Kalec.
• Accept the quest, The Nexus Vault, from the Image of Kalec.
• Enter The Nexus located at the lowest level at coords 27.5, 25.9.

Stage 1 - The Azure Prisoner
• Travel north toward coords 35.4, 67.9, maintaining your Power Word: Shield, which places the Atonement buff on you, and defeating the mobs you come across:
• Scion of Fire
- - Interrupt Fireball (will only work if you are in Shadow specialization).
• Scion of Ice - Will attack when Scion of Fire dies.
- - Interrupt Icicle Barrage. If any of these get through, move out of the way of the icicle paths.
• Scion of Magic - Will attack when Scion of Ice dies.
- - Interrupt Void Consumption.
- - Move out of the way of the Arcane Orb.
• After the Scion of Magic is killed, heal Azuregos to full health.

Stage 2 - Seeking Answers
• After Azuregos transforms into a humanoid, travel west to coords 23.7, 67.5.
- - You will need to monitor the health of Azuregos, and heal as necessary.
• Continue north to 22.0, 42.9, defeating the Wrath Ember mobs.
• While on your journey, through the Hall of Stasis, use Levitate on yourself and Azuregos to safely cross the strips of fire.
• Follow the path around to the Librarium, located at coords 27.4, 36.8.

Stage 3 - Cleansed by Holy Fire
• The Judgment's Flame will spawn in the middle of the room, for you to fight. Remember to maintain your Power Word: Shield during this fight!
• Use Mind Control and cast Diffusion until it has sacrificed all of its life.

Stage 4 - The Way Out is Through
• Travel north to coords 31.0, 22.2, killing the Ethereal mobs you cross.

Stage 5 - Consumed by Void
• After Azuregos is transformed into a dragonkin again, click on him to ride him across the rift.
• While on your flight across, Nexus-Prince Bilaal will transform into void.
• After landing, defeat Nexus-Prince Bilaal.
• Move toward the center of the platform when he begins channeling Force of Gravity.
• Avoid standing in the pools that are dropped around the platform.

Stage 6 - A Will of Fire
• After the defeat of Nexus-Prince Bilaal, Azuregos will land and open a Portal to the Nexus Vault.
• Travel to the center of the platform, in the middle of the Nexus Vault, and click on Light's Wrath.
• While you are fighting to gain control of Light's Wrath, use your healing spells to restore your health while it attacks with Righteous Fury.
• Healing spells that work are and/or )

Stage 7 - To Wield the Flame (Final Stage)
• Click on Light's Wrath to claim your artifact weapon.
• Proceed northeast, and click on the Portal to the Nexus.
• Click on the Portal to Dalaran that Azuregos drops for you.
• Travel west, to the Violet Citadel, located at coords 32.3, 49.1.
• Enter the Violet Citadel, and turn in the quest to Archmage Kalec.

Why the actual &*!@ is this so hard? Every other toon I have had no problem in getting the second weapon for healing toons. My priest is 840 ash geared from heroics and WQs, but all this quest seems to involve is dying repeatedly. What a crock of #$%^ Blizz!

This is the quest to obtain Light's Wrath - discipline priest artifact weapon. Entrance to the instance located in the basement of The Nexus Tower, get in to start the scenario.

Find and heal up Azuregos to invite him into your group.
Wait until he finished his monologue and opened the way. Reach Librarium, you can cross lava pools shielded or levitate over them.
As you reached the Librarium, there will Judgment's Flame spawn, elemental deals dreadful damage, but doest reset health pool, so you may do few runs, if got killed.
When you done with Judgment's Flame, reach the rift.
Azuregos will take you to Nexus-Prince Bilaal, you have to slay it.
As you defeated Bilaal, go through the portal that Azuregos opens and try to take the staff. It will start to channel a damage to you that you have to heal through.
Claim Light's Wrath and run away from the Nexus.

For those having trouble and getting killed quickly. I walked into the vault with 830+ and it was dire. I removed everything that could take damage and this dropped me to 368. Lvl 110 Ilvl 368. It was much easier after that. You can still die but the cost is lower and the fights are easier. When you get to the last level re-equip all your stuff as it will help you survive the oh so long 8 seconds.

Currently in patch 7.2. This thing bugged out for me and i didn't get the quest. Just fly around outside of the area immediately near the nexus spire and the quest should automatically pop up.

After trying to kill Judgment's Flame for about seven minutes, with no luck on any combination of tricks that could stop it from simply healing itself, I realized that Blizz has a secret desire to remake Groundhog Day. They're too far away from Hollywood and, after the one film, should forget any other attempts.

Many thanks for all the comments below and I guess there is no way to do this in anything other than Discipline spec, right? But isn't that something you do after getting the right weapon? Normally a surgeon doesn't start biology 101 with a scalpel in hand - more likely a pen. Learning to fly doesn't involve the instructor handing you the keys to the aircraft and saying, "You'll figure it out... or you won't."

So learn Discipline and then get the weapon. The surgeon starts with a screwdriver and after succeeding in the first operation gets to graduate to scalpels?

I hope I'm not that first operation. Oddly enough, the other class hall progressions were mostly spec agnostic. Maybe this is a veiled warning: Disc is Dead.

Azuregos is an idiot - he kept stepping on the fiery parts and getting blasted by the fountains. If this were a group member, I would have stopped healing him long ago.

Everything here is correct, go in at lowest gear level possible and the fights are easier as one poster has already said. I'm only posting because when I finished the library boss, Azuregos would not come out of the library room with me. He kept talking, but wouldn't come out. I logged out and logged right back in and this fixed the glitch. Cheers!

everything up until the last part where you have to keep alive, i was able to do in shadow spec. kept all my gear on which was item level 878 comprised of unsullied BoA and dauntless BoP . at the end i switched to holy spec and just spammed renew/heal/flash heal and other prayer cooldowns to complete the scenario

so, if you're shaky at disc but decent at shadow, it can be done fairly easy with unsullied gear

If you're like me and had an auto-turn in addon mess up obtaining this quest after the pop-up quest was turned in and "accepted" (i dont know what AAP did, but the quest was simlply gone) - all you gotta do is leave and re-enter Coldarra/BT with the addon disabled (or at least the auto-accept/turn in disabled) and you should receive the quest. This should also work if you abandon or otherwise lose the quest.

Trying to do this quest as a level 15 in 2021. The quest wouldn't pop up and i'm too low level to enter dungeons. I killed myself and when i spawned in the graveyard it gave me the quest. Hope this helps someone.

The only problem with doing this below level 12 is that you, in the current state of WoW, do not have Levitate to help you get over the fire in the corridors. The widest fire patch nearly killed me, even with a Power Word: Shield on, but it was doable. The rest was annoyingly easy. The Nexus-Prince died in like 5 seconds and I'm not sure I even took any damage at all while controlling the weapon.

As of 10.1, there is something very wrong in the instance. When fighting any of the enemies, my game freezes horrifically whilst Im in combat. Given I'm running an i9 13900K and an RTX4090, there's a good chance it's nothing to do with my hardware. I've reported the bug, but will post this in case anyone else has the same issue.

Edited later in the quest: Its related to Azuregos being in your party. As soon as he left the party to fly me over the bridge it was fine.

If Azuregos becomes unresponsive and won't travel further up the fire corridor with you, a relog will port him back to your side so you are able to continue to the Nexus Vault and activate the next section of the quest.

I didn't get this quest pop up, and I was like huh that's weird, I think it may be because I am on the quest for Tarecgosas staff, even though I had already completed the Nexus portion.

Updated to add: This quest finally popped up after finishing the cutscene in Emergency Extraction

This scenario is shared with the Arcane Mage spec. Instead of Aluneth, it's Light's Wrath. Aluneth actually talks to you and you don't have to let it burn you for 20 seconds to grab it, so it's the better of two scenarios in my opinion, but the differences are mostly negligible.
