If you're wondering how far you can make it by breezing by with one super strong pet... this is it. This guy stuns out the wazoo, he is the point at which this becomes less like pokemon and more like ...something strategic.

this quest sucks solely because of his mechanopeep pet. i put my level 25 clockwork gnome against it and i don't stand a chance. he just pecks the living hell out of you. not cool.

this sux plain and simple i want to quit wow! the mecanical hits me for over 800 i have a hyjal bear that heals his bear heal more and stuns i can do either one or the other not both. and every pet stuns my bear can also but not at the same time! i never made it to the last pet so i cant tell about it but blizz better start changing right now

This Grand Master absolutely earned his Grand Master title.

For maximum efficiency you'll need a max level (25) pet team comprised of a mechanical, elemental and aquatic nature.

Grand Master Paynes team consists of:

Grizzle - Grizzle, beast
Bloom - Bloom, elemental
Beakmaster X-225 - Beakmaster X-225, mechanical

He heals, stuns, and is an all around pain in the you know where.
Go prepared. If you are having a lot of issues, swap out for a maximum level pet with a healing ability.
His pets will always go first, it seems, as well. Something that can steal speed is also very effective against them, though they can often miss.

Hello Guys
I win easyly with this set

Effervescent Glowfly to win Bear
Use Cocoon Strike to avoid Bear first stun
Use Swarm to do some damage and get a x2 burst to win hibernation phase
Then Swarm effect fade Bear will hibernate so you win use 2 Scratch to do like 1200 damage and pwned hibenate. You prob will repeat all process 2 times to win and go for robot. Try use your Swarm on robot to get x2 burst for you next pet.

I use Dark Phoenix Hatchling to win Robot
Burn Burn Burn
In last round to kill he use Dark Flame for healing reducing on ress. Its so easy.
You prob will pass for plant, Then Burn and if will die use your Dark Rebith.

For third pet you can choose whatever strong lvl 25 pet, I got my Air Defense Crystal

Just defeated this guy with two uncommon-quality level 25 Flayer Younglings and a level 25 Mini Thor on the first try. Bloom came last, and one of my younglings reflected its heal, which won the match. Did damage mainly through Rampage after the Mini Thor went down.

Abull00 ...THANK YOU for the Effervescent Glowfly strat for Major Payne. I registered for the site just to tell you thanks..lol. I was so frustrated, and...the glowfly made it a walk in the park.

Anyone still trying to beat his bear...try the Glowfly. Bear was down in two rounds. (my other pets were Fel Flame and a Mirror Strider)

By using your strategy, I beat Major Payne the first time I fought him after coming back with the right mix.

My pets:

Tiny Harvester uncommon level 25 metal fist, overtune, demolish
Dark Phoenix Hatchling rare level 25 burn darkflame conflagrate
Jungle Darter rare level 25 water jet, healing wave, frog kiss

I used demolish three times on the Grizzle, missed once, but it did 1000+ damage each time. He got through 1 hibernate, but the 2nd demolish hit him after hibernate (I think he stunned me twice) and killed him.

I went conflagrate, darkflame, burn on Beakmaster and just rinsed and repeated until he was dead.

I still had some life in the elemental and used him to get Bloom down about 573 hps. Then all I had to do was waterjet and that finished Bloom fairly easily.

I just beat him with another new method than I could find here. Requires some patience though :P

I went with Mini Tyrael (Omnislash / Restoration), Savory Beetle (APOCALYPSE)& Celestial Dragon (Ancient Blessing / Starfall)

This tactic should be doable with different pets, not everyone will have the Tyrael available but it isn't a big asset to the setup anyway.

What I did was just keep Starfall on CD, keep switching between Tyrael & Celestial to take the 3 hits from the bear. (don't be afraid to let the beetle tank a blow if it has enough health to do so)

And Omnislash whenever I could to help with cleaving his bench down slowly together with starfall. Making sure I healed myself up in time and counting down the bear's attacks, switch to celestial whenever I got stunned to Starfall. Rinse repeat till bench is dead, that is when you can activate Apocalypse. then just keep doing what you have been doing and wait for the bomb to drop on that hibernating piece of...

Good luck all! (Only Tyrael was 25 so doable with 22s!)

Very easy fight with the appropriate team. I did it twice.

Darkmoon Zeppelin (Mechanical) against Grizzle (Beast)
Phoenix Hatchling (Elemental) against Beakmaster (Mechanical) & Bloom (Elemental)

My lvl 25 Darkmoon Zeppelin had no trouble with the beast, thanks to the use of its decoy and the bombing run, and was able to get the mechanical to about half health before dying. My lvl 25 Phoenix Hatchling finished off the mechanopeep using Conflagrate and Burn, and then healed once while burning down the plant. I never even needed to use my third pet.

After having serious trouble with Jacob and Okrut I was worried about this one, and all the comments didn't help. And you know what? It was the easiest one for me in Northrend.

I used the following pets, all level 25 and rare: Robo-Chik (Batter, Overtune, Wind-Up), Fel Flame (Burn, Immolate, Conflagrate), and Strand Crab (Surge, Renewing Mists, Shell Shield).

The only pet that gave me some trouble was Bloom the elemental, and that was probably because I was playing more defensively with healing and the armor shell with my crab.

After losing to him at least a dozen times, with a random mech/elemental/aquatic team, I came up with my own strategy.

Pets:
Blue Clockwork Rocketbot - 25 Uncommon. Batter, Toxic Smoke, Launch Rocket
Infinite Whelpling - 25 Rare (4, 14 breed) Tail Sweep, Healing Flame, Early Advantage
Garden Frog - 25 Rare... or any random level 25 that isn't weak against Elemental... you probably won't need this pet.

I start with a Blue Clockwork Rocketbot (25, uncommon), and forfeit until Grizzle is first.

On Grizzle: Open with building a Rocket, send it off on the second turn. On the third turn, hit him with Toxic Smoke, and that will trigger Grizzle to Hibernate. Build another Rock, and finish him off.

when Grizzle attacks first, Beakmaster will attack second. Try to get another Rocket off on him. I usually can. Keep attacking with the rocketbot until he's dead.

Switch to the Infinite Whelpling. Take a chance, and hit Early Advantage first, because Beakmaster might hit you hard enough to proc the second attack. After that, Tail Sweep will hit double because he's slower than both of the remaining pets. Heal when it feels right, hit Early Advantage again if you have significantly lower health.

I only need my garden frog to finish off Bloom about 50% of the time. But if you do need him, it's pretty easy.

For Grizzle, if you're lucky enough to have something like a Dragon Kite , you will take reduced damage because you're a flyer, and be able to use your mechanical attack to inflict strong damage.

For Bloom, I'd recommend fielding something like Shimmershell Snail, as he is a critter and takes less damage from Bloom's attacks, but also has an aquatic attack which is strong against Bloom.

You could also time your Dive ability to dodge Bloom's Entangling Roots damage, as you'll see it coming.

Lastly, for his mechanial pet Beakmaster X-225, any Elemental with elemental type attacks will do well.

The practice of trying to be both strong in offensive and defence match-ups is a good general rule for these harder pet battles with fixed opponents.

I had some issues with it initially, following the logical counters as such.
Pulled out my today

Against Grizzle: (Critter racial make bash redounded)
Dodge (assuming Pup is faster ofc) dodge the first two ticks of Rampage
Flurry
Burrow (Immune the 3rd tick of Rampage)
Flurry (Even if Bash is used - you are not stunned due to the critter racial)
Flurry
Rinse and repeat. Took longer then with a high damage pet but ended up with full HP on my Pup.

Beakmaster
Remained with the Pup to see how it can handle it. (All CDs were ready)
Killed it with 283HP left on my Pup.

As one that uses the daily to boost up single digit level pets, this guy was a tricky one so far, using the Pup i can easily boost some low levels now.

Ok, here's the main team that I was able to handle this with and had almost a full life to spare.

Enter the battle and if the bear is not the first to attack, surrender the fight and re enter the fight so that the bear is the first to attack.

To fight the Bear, start with your Effervescent Glowfly. Set it up to have Scratch, Cocoon and Swarm abilities. The attack sequence is Cocoon (to avoid the bear's initial attack), then Swarm. After the first Swarm, he should be ready to hibernate. Use the Scratch ability 2 times and then repeat this sequence.

To fight the Beakmaster, use your Dark Phoenix Hatchling. Set it up for Burn, Immolate and Conflagrate. Start with Immolate and then hit him with Conflagrate (double damage) and then continue to burn. Repeat.

To fight Bloom, use your Dancing Water Skimmer. Set it up for Waterjet, Healing Wave and Pump. Begin with Pump twice in a row and then use the Waterjet and repeat when Pump is ready again. Use the Healing Wave as needed.

This set should work fairly well, but I recommend that you don't go into this battle unless you have maxed out rare qualities and you should have no trouble.

I defeated Major Payne (just barely) with a Level 25 Lil' XT, a Level 25 Disgusting Oozeling and a level 24 Terrible Turnip.

I used the following abilities:

Lil' XT: Zap, Repair, Tympanic Tantrum
Disgusting Oozeling: Absorb, Creeping Ooze, Acidic Goo
Terrible Turnip: Tidal Wave. Inspiring Song. Sons of the Root

I got Payne's pets in the order: Grizzle – Beakmaster X-225 – Bloom

I started with Terrible Turnip primary, but that didn't really matter. I used Sons of the Root, then swapped to Lil XT. Tympanic Tantrum and Repair in a battle against Grizzle's Rampage and Hibernate. You can continue this cycle for a while, with the bonus that it does a good chunk of damage against Beakmaster and Bloom at the same time.

Once Grizzle died, I did as much damage as possible with Lil XT to Beakmaster and when Lil XT died I brought in Oozeling. DoT up Beakmaster and use absorb otherwise. The magic passive effect will buy you some extra time.

Once I killed beakmaster, I dotted up Bloom until Oozeling died, then performed another Sons of the Root with Terrible Turnip. DoTs and Sons of the Root brought Bloom down to about 20 health. Then a single Tidal Wave finished him off, leaving my Turnip with about 8 health.

Probably not the best or most efficient way to beat this guy, but it worked.

The best strat I've found for this guy, work your match-ups:

Grizzle - Beast - Currently using Clockwork Gnome (Mechanical), you will need repair in slot 2, with his stuns the turret will still get damage out.
Beakmaster X-225 – Mechanical – Using Fel Flame (Elemental), Immolate, Conflag then a Burn knocks out the racial.
Bloom - Eternal Strider (Aquatic) with 2 Pumps, he's toast. If your leveling a strider definitely use him here.

I guess I could find a better Mechanical for Grizzle, my first thought would be Fluxfire Feline, Windup, Prowl, Windup; but I would be worried with the stuns if you could make it without dying.

Sure, it was close but you can never underestimate the power of half healing, food poisoning, stay still dammit, hit & run, oh, I'm on fire, I'm on fire! and who's yer daddy?

I have taken down every trainer so far, up to taming Northrend, with the same team. Some have taken me more than one attempt but I have always managed to work it through by changing up an ability here or a sequence there.

/edit 29/01/013 - Have now taken down every tamer with the above team, with the sole exception of Thundering Pandaren Spirit - had to swap out Dark Whelpling for a lvl 24 Rapana Whelk and Spidey for a lvl 24 Crustacean

A Mechanical, elemental, critter combo also works well on this trainer. I was using a level 19 Fluxfire Feline, level 25 Fel Flame and a level 24 Rapana Whelk. Opened with the Feline on Grizzle, and he was still half health when Beakmaster came out. Got a good hit in on him and finished everything else off with my Fel Flame. Much easier fight compared to Nearly Headless Jacob, who I kept running into walls with for a week before I finally got him down.

This difficult trainer can be neutralized fairly easily with a simple strategy involving Lil' XT and his Tympanic Tantrum ability (with Repair and Zap).

For this to work Payne has to:
1) Open with Grizzle (he does 90% of the time)
2) Grizzle must open with Rampage instead of Bash (Its about a 50/50 chance)
3) No hit from Tympanic Tantrum can miss Grizzle (Ok to miss other pets).

The fight will progress as such:
Open with Tantrum. He will Rampage you three times in a row which shouldn't kill you even if one crits. He doesn't seem to use Bash AT ALL if he doesn't open with it. He will then go into Hibernate as long as all three Tantrums connected. You Repair at the same time. Use Zap in the filler round and Tantrum again.

At the end of this Tantrum it can go several ways.
1) If you have connected with every attack and he hasn't sprung your Rez he should be in the middle of a Hibernate which will allow you to do one more Tantrum cycle killing (or almost killing) both background pets and possibly him. If he survives switch in any ole' beatstick for the win.
2) If any of your filler Zaps have missed Grizzle might not be low enough health to Hibernate as early, meaning he has probably forced your Rez and you can't do a third and final Tantrum, just Zap til you die for good and sub in a nice Evasion Pet (Rabbits are WONDERFUL) that can snipe the last few hundred hp from each of Payne's almost dead pets for the win. :)

As has been said by pretty much everyone so far, this is a payne in the hiney. But there is hope.
I use an Oasis Moth first (obviously rare 25), and it works like a charm, no matter which pet Payne sends in first. My other two are a Kun-Lai Runt and an Emerald Turtle.
You will still lose a lot of matches, but this team does the trick.

I had problem after problem with this guy until I figured out a good combination (after reading these comments, which were only partially helpful unless I wanted to level an entirely new team to 25). My current team:

- Sporeling Scout (Rare)
- Rabid Nut Varmint 5000 (Rare)
- Golden Dragonhawk Hatchling (Uncommon)
Backup: Winter Reindeer (Uncommon)

I tried combination after combination, but I beat him twice in a row (the normal quest, then the daily) with this combination:

- Rabid Nut Varmint 5000 vs. Grizzle
Abilities: Metal Fist, Overtune, Rabid Strike (used while he was asleep; never had time to use Repair)
Usually Rabid Nut Varmint 5000 would survive the fight and move on to the next one before dying.

- Golden Dragonhawk Hatchling vs. Beakmaster X-225
Abilities: Quills, Conflagrate, Flamethrower
Pretty easy fight unless you mess up on the rotation. Depending on luck, Dragonhawk Hatchling can move on to take off around half of Bloom's health. If not...

- Sporeling Scout vs. Bloom
Abilities: Jab, Leech Seed, Spore Shrooms
I made sure both DoTs were up as often as possible, and used Jab when nothing else was up. Pretty obvious but again, if you mess up the rotation you'll regret it. You have to be aggressive with Bloom because he heals.

I have searched patch 5.2 notes and cannot find anything about this but it seems Master Payne's team pets are now all elites (purples).

I wish I had made the time to battle him while they were rares, I keep coming -this- close!

Despite everything I read, I found that keeping it simple and going with opposite types worked well. Every time I tried this I was just barely not making it, despite trying every complicated idea under the sun. Finally I tried just going toe-to-toe with the opposite type. (I should note that every time I fought Payne, his order for his line up didn't vary at all. It was always beast type bear, mecha-chicken, and then elemental lasher.)

I used S/B breed Clockwork Gnome (Metal Fist/Repair/Build Turret), P/S breed Terrible Turnip (Tidal Wave/Leech Seed/Sons of the Root), and H/B breed Garden Frog (Water Jet/Healing Wave/Frog Prince) in that order. All were level 25, Rare quality battle pets. I switched every time Payne's pet died despite it allowing the opposite side an extra attack, but you could in theory run each pet until it died for some extra damage.

I started with CG's Turret, then used Fist until Turret's cool down was up. Thanks to an addon I could tell when the other abilities would be on cool down, forcing the Bear to use Hibernate. When I saw the Bear would be forced to use Hibernate, I used Repair the same round. (Not sure if it's Battle Pet BreedID, Daily Tamer Check, or PetTracker, that shows this as I started using all 3 at the same time.) Rinse and repeat, putting up Turrents every chance I got. Bear was dead before Repair's cool down was up.

With the mecha-chicken I used Terrible Turnip, using first Leech Seed, then SotR. When that was up, I used Tidal Wave, which had the added bonus of also doing damage to the Lasher in the background as it's a water type attack. Thanks to SotR, I missed most of the damaging attacks from mecha-chicken and killed it before SotR's cool down was up.

For the Lasher I used Frog Kiss over and over, except for breaks to heal myself with Healing Kiss when ever it's cool down was up. Frog Kiss hit every time, doing more damage that Water Jet by the third hit. It also turned the Lasher into a frog at least once, which basically gave me an extra attack.

Except for knowing when to use Repair via my addon, it was all pretty straight forward and easy to do. The key was having the pets come out in the right order and having all 3 be level 25. (Some of my earlier attempts I used pets that were level 22-24, but they consistently missed with their attacks, even when they types that were strong against their opponents.) While the addon showing the opposing pet's abilities and cool downs was helpful, you could in theory keep track of it manually if need be.

I used Tranquil Mechanical Yeti (rare), then Core Hound Pup (rare) and finally Nether Faerie Dragon (rare). With this combo I was able to defeat Major Payne 1st shot.

What in blazes is going on with this fight? I had him solidly on farm and had been bringing lower pets to level them, but since the last patch, it is not possible to do that, and it takes several tries to defeat him, even with my trusty farm team of 25 rare mechanical squirrel, 25 rare singing sunflower, and 25 rare yellow-bellied bullfrog.

The bear is not hibernating as readily as it used to, and that (expletive deleted) mechanical bird is HORRIBLE.

Anybody else suddenly having trouble with this guy?

This only appears to work if Grizzle doesn't stun you first. The first two step are correct. the third even with a high level Aquatic pet it's impossible against the elelemtal

Completed this today first time in one try. I used the following because it was what I had and I thought it wouldn't hurt to try! I did get stunned a few times and simply clicked *Pass* and everything still worked out.

This guy is a major pain (pun intended :P), but I finally beat him with the following set up:

On Grizzle, I used a rare level 25 Water Snake with Poison Fang as opener and finished him off with Vicious Fang.

On the Beakmaster X-225, I used a rare level 25 Electrified Razortooth opening with Paralyzing Shock, following up with Jolt and then Devour. This pet is what made all the difference for me on this fight. His elemental damage is very strong against the Beakmaster.

On Bloom, I used a rare level 25 Dancing Water Skimmer with opening with two Pump, followed with Water Jet and using Healing Wave as necessary.

This combo was what finally helped me beat him rather easily. Hopefully it helps someone else out that may be stuck on this guy :)

hi guys,. thanks for the help.

I beat this guy after several tries. I always used my lvl 25 Clock'em, and my phoenix Hatchling lvl 25 too + 1 pet trying to get this down.

In the end i kept dying and not be able to out dmg the bear so i changed my team around and ended with this:
- Rabid nut Varmint 5000, Uncommon( LVL7)
- Sifang Otter, Uncommon (LVL23)
AND
Phoenix Hatchling, rare (LVL 25)

With this setup i 1-shot him :)

I tried a couple times before I got the right pets:

I used:

Grizzle >> Clockwork Gnome
Beakmaster >> Blue Dragonhawk Hatchling (use the spells for mechanicals)
Bloom >> Eternal Strider (pump) also my Jungle Darter did fine too

I did try the Anodized Robo Bear and Pandaren Water Spirit twice but they just didn't have enough power or health. Thanks so much for everyone's info here.

Here's my strategy:

Grizzle - Anodized Robo Cub (lvl 25, Uncommon) I used "Supercharge" and then "Demolish." One supercharged demolish takes out most of his health. Another demolish or two without the supercharge will finish him off. How many you'll need depends on whether or not he hibernates.
Beakmaster X-225 - Fel Flame (lvl 24, Rare*) I used "Immolate," then "Conflagrate," then "Burn" while "Conflagrate" was on cooldown. If you can keep him burning, you should be good to go. Because Mechanical pets are revived after their first death and don't have an auto-kill the way Undead pets do, the burning effect really helps to take him down quickly after he revives.
Bloom - Shore Crab (lvl 25, Rare) I just spammed "Surge." The first time, I made the mistake of putting up "Shell Shield" and "Renewing Mists." I was able to defeat him, but at a disadvantage. The second time, I only used "Surge" and then popped a "Renewing Mists" when he used his heal. "Surge" always goes first, so using a shore crab gives you a speed advantage against Bloom, plus a self-heal and either a damage reducer or a timed ability, depending on what you choose. It's also a bit hardier than, say, a Sea Pony.

I was left with about 10% health on all pets at the end.

*My Fel Flame made level 25 after the first battle with Major Payne. He was level 25 when I went to test my strategy a second time.

One the third try I beat this with a team consisting of:

Clockwork Gnome Lvl 25 (Rare)
Fel Flame Lvl 20 (Rare)
Biletoad Lvl 20 (Rare)

The Gnome made it through the first Beast pet with a few hundred health. Basically setting up a Turret to start, then Metal Fist until Turret up again. Metal Fist to finish. Really helped that he went first each round and bear only had Hibernate at end.

Then swapped out at start of the second Mechanical fight for the Fel Flame. Started with Immolate to rebuff with Burning then Conflagrate and continue with Immolate. Swapped Gnome back in at end to take a big hit and used Repair on Wind Up. Died and came back to life to finish second pet.

Lastly a Biletoad which had some aid from 2 rounds of Turret from Gnome at start of last pet. Got lucky with a Frog Kiss for a cc for that round, then Cleansing Rain to heal back a bit and increase subsequent Aquatic damage (25%) Used Water Jet thereafter to bring down the elemental pet.

A few Misses in there and the good luck for the first Frog Kiss cc enabled the win with these two lower level pets. For future fights I would simply level both these up to Lvl 25.

The Biletoad happened to be the only higher level Aquatic in my collection and also performed well against the Undead used by Nearly Headless Jacob and Okrut Dragonwaste even at this level (The Cleansing Rain used to remove the Blizzard helps reduce the second pets damage quite a bit which is already weaker against Aquatic)

I tried the Mechanical/Elemental/Aquatic combo, using Robo Chicken, Skunky Alemental and Gahz'rooki, but after three losses, I decided to switch it up a bit. I switched Robo Chicken out for Wildhammer Gryphon Hatchling and won with ease the first try.

My strat. Hasn't failed yet.

Menagerie Custodian - Spam Zap until Grizzle is dead. Spam Zap on Beakmaster until the turn you think you'll die. Then let loose Ion Cannon.

Anubisath Idol - Open with Rupture. Follow up with Crush until Beakmaster is dead. Don't worry about Stoneskin. Use Crush on Bloom until the Anubisath Idol is dead.

Spiny Terrapin - Spam Grasp. You should be just fine.

Move on to the next trainer!

1) Grasslands Cottontail S/S, flurry-dodge-burrow (any hare with speed above 311 and these abilities will do, but this one got biggest attack power)
2) Electrified Razortooth, rip-blood in the water-lightning shield
3) Whatever, I use leveling pet here.
With proper usage of dodge-flurry-burrow combo you can make Grizzle waste all his attacks. Caveat is, you can't always predict what attack he will use - Bash, which you can safely ignore due to Critter immunity to stuns; or Rampage, which you should avoid. I usually begin with Dodge and see what will happen. If Grizzle uses Bash, I forfeit and start over. If he uses Rampage, I continue on. If he uses Bash right after Rampage, you can safely assume he will use Rampage after his Hibernate because it won't come off CD in time. If he uses Hibernate right after Rampage, well, it is RNG part, make your best guess. With some luck, your rabbit will kill Grizzle and severely damage Beakmaster... I even saw my Cottontail killing his entire team few times, but this is not reliable.
After that, bring out Razortooth. When you hare finally falls, bring Electrified Razortooth and put lightning shield up. If Razorbeak will try to use Batter, he will kill himself. If not, rip-blood in the water combo will put him to rest. Same goes for Bloom, his last pet. You can try to finish last pet with your leveling pet, too.
So much for this major pain. :)

Succeeded on my second try. With same pets. So there is a bit of RNG. There are certain moves that can screw it up (deathgrip, stun) but other than that Iron Starlette is one insane pet with probably the strongest one shot ability in the game. It can last almost 2 pets. Used Frigid Frostling for mech pet (poor pet but only elemental I had) and Water Strider(?) for last one. All lvl 25. That elemental nearly made another wipe (took both frigid frostling and aqua pet to kill it). I am not going back for another round. Seriously, 3 purple pets!

Very easy 2-pet setup for Elekk Plushie achievement:
-Elekk Plushie: lol/lol/lol
-Darkmoon Zeppelin: 1/1/2
-Emperor Crab (H/H): 2/2/1

Start with Plushie out to soak the stun. Swap to Zeppelin. Decoy->Bombing Run->Missile spam. Should have absolutely no problem finishing off Grizzle with health to spare. When Beakmaster comes out, swap back to Plushie. This is the trick to the fight imo. While you're waiting for Decoy to come off cd the Elekk Plushie can take a few hits because of its gigantic health pool. Once decoy is off cd, swap the Zeppelin back in (ideally you want to do this when Beakmaster doesn't have Wind-up queued for a big attack since it'll get the first attack, but even if it happens failsafe will let you drop the decoy). So Decoy->Bombing Run->Missile until your Zeppelin dies. You should be able to force Beakmaster into popping failsafe.

Finish off Beakmaster with Emperor Crab's Surge. Then when Bloom comes out cast Shell Shield, heal if need be, and start spamming Surge. I down him every time with health to spare.

Following the advice mentioned, I made my team of Clockwork Gnome, Fel Flame, and Dancing Water Skimmer. I didn't even need my Dancing Water Skimmer. Started off with Clockwork Gnome using Build Turret, Repair, another Build Turret when I could and Metal Fist when I had nothing else. I was able to get another Build Turret down before 2nd pet killed my Clockwork Gnome. Next came my Fel Flame, Immolate, Conflagrate and 1 burn is all it took. I kept the Fel Flame in for the final battle, repeated with Immolate, Conflagrate and Burn if needed.

This guy was really hard for me. I didn't have any of the full line ups that others had already mentioned so I was trying to piece together a similar team. Some of the pets that worked with other people's teams didn't work right with the other pets I did have, despite trying numerous times with different strats and/or hoping to get a more lucky string of events (sometimes a huge part of winning or losing close battles, I have found).

I won FINALLY won with:

Leopard Tree Frog - Using Frog Kiss spam and Healing Wave when I could - This pet died.
Pierre - Using Chop, Stench and Food Coma to DPS a little with mitigation and a nice CC that can allow for smoother pet swaps, etc.
Nexus Whelpling - Using Tail Sweep, Mana Surge and Arcane Storm for DEEEEEPEEEEE-ESSSS!

The Whelpling and the Leopard Tree Frog, former more than latter, were my main DPS with Pierre being my CC/mitigation buffer.

Note: I opened with the frog, in case I was damaged and/or stunned. Frog healed and when stunned I swapped to whelpling and storm surged the bear down in one use of Arcane Storm and Mana Surge. Kill that cute little $%#@ of a bear cub before it heals up!

Eff this guy. I only have a few 23 and above (Arcane Eye, Iron Starlette, Lil' Bling, Magical Crawdad, Stowaway Rat, Silkbead Snail, & Crimson Shale Hatchling). No combo of this does anything against this guy. They are all worthless, it takes all I have to get the beakmaster down. I did get lucky and kill all 3 of his, but he got me with a finishing move right after I killed him, it killed me, and I lost. I hate that if you die from a Multi-Round spell, you still lose despite killing him first. Overall Its interesting how Pet battles have not been effected the the level increase in the expansions and are the same way they were upon release. Looks like by Pet Questing has ended.

Since there isn't much Elekk Plushie guides here, I figured I'd post my 2 pets to kill these 3. Here is my Strat:

Clockwork Gnome 1/1/1
Crusher 1/1/1

Against the Bear, use your Turret, Metal Fist until your 2nd Turret comes up. He should die the round that he goes to hibernate. Now, 2nd pet comes out. Metal Fist until you can get off another Turret. I died and came back to life just long enough to put a Turret down. Crusher comes out. Use your Shell Armor,2nd pet should die from Turrets. Now just Acid Touch 3rd boss to death. The Shell Armor blocks his regular damage. You only take damage from his roots.

I've used this strat a few times now and works every time. Good Luck!

easy strategy for team with ellek plushy:
lil bling: smackthat.exe, extra plating, make it rain
mirror strider: water jet, heal, pump.

lil bling goes out:
make it rain
extra plating
smackthat.exe

at this stage the bear will sleep, keep using smackthat.exe until he dies.

mechastryder enters.
make it rain
extra plating if off CD, other wise smackthat.exe
use smackthat.exe until it dies and revive, then smackthat.exe one last time.

his elemental enters, kills lil bling, switch to mirror strider.
pump->use pump. pump->use pump.

and you're done!

Such a pain!

1 - Dragonbone Hatchling: Start with lift off, adrenaline rush, then thrash til Lift Off is off cool down, and lift off again. Keep thrashing til its dead. Switch him out after the bear is dead.

2 - Stout alemental (or any elemental): Start with Explosive Brew, then Dive, then Brew Bolt twice. Explosive will go off and kill him. Switch him out after the mechanical is dead.

3 - Fen Crab: Start with Spiny Carapace, then Rip, then Blood in the Water will kill this weed -.-

Hey guys,

After some fails and then reading through the helpful tips here, I managed to get a combo that worked for me.

Clockwork Gnome (Metal fist, Repair, Turret)
Fel Flame ( Burn, Scorched Earth, Conflagarate)
Fen Crab (Rip, Spiny Carapace, Blood on the Water)

After damaging Grizzle with Turret, I would smash with Metal Fist while he slept.

Fel Flame I brought out scorched earth for Beakinator, followed by Burn and Conflagarate.

Fen Crab I used Spiny Carapace first, then Rip and then Blood in the Water.

Yay. Down you go Major Payne in the buttocks.

I killed him with only 2 pets:
Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling.
I had the following abilities:
Breath
Thunderbolt
Decoy

Jademist Dancer
Had the following abilities:
Steam Vault
Rain Dance
Geyser

As the last one i had Fragment of the Suffering
I didnt use that one, one single time.
Had alot of trouble defeating him in the beginning. But now i can with two :)

This guy is way to much...over twenty battles with diffrent pets before I could defeat him...Son of Sethe/lil'Bling/Anubisath...immediately following my victory he again challeneged me - I thought Blizzard just erased my win and I had to do it all over again but no it was simply a quest and I won the second time more easily...seems to me the guy in dragonblight was almost as difficult...hard but do~able.

After losing a handful of times last week with a Toad/Snow Cub/Spawn of Onyxia lineup, I just beat him after tonight's second try. I used Robo Chick against the Grizzle (beast bear), Spawn of Onyxia against Beakmaster (mechanical bird), and Toad against Bloom (elemental flower). I healed every chance I got, and used Robo Chick's Wind-Up ability to power through Grizzle's healing hibernation rounds. All three of my pets were level 25 rares. The Robo Chick seemed to make the difference for me tonight.

My strategy for this fight that worked both with if the bear cast the opening move stun and if it didn’t:

Iron Starlette (1,2,1)
Fel Flame (1,1,1) (mine was a green level 21 and it still worked, a blue 25 would make this easier though)
Strand Crab (2,2,2) (mine was a blue level 22 and also still worked) (any crab with Surge/Healing Wave/Whirl Pool will work)

Iron Starlette: Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up oneshots the bear and should leave the Iron Starlette with enough health to hit the next pet. I cast Wind-Up again, was killed by the robotic bird, then revived and because the second move the robotic bird makes is to buff itself I got another cast of Wind-Up off before being killed the next round. You can also just cast Toxic Smoke if your health is low or if you’ve already revived when the robotic bird comes out.
Fel Flame: Immolate, Conflagurate, then Burn till the robot birds dead. I had a couple hundred health here so cast Immolate again before being killed by the lasher.
Strand Crab: Whirlpool, Surge, Healing Wave, Surge, Whirlpool, Surge, Surge/Healing Wave (basically open with Whirlpool, follow with Surge, heal as needed, cast Whirlpool every time its off CD) (for the last move the Whirlpool should finish him off either way, but if your health is low you should heal because he knocks you again before Whirlpool goes off)

I have too few pets to optimize with, hope this helps a casual player out.
Note my pets are blue 25

For foe one:
I used Darkmoon Zeppelin (mechanical > beast, and the bombing run helps against the stunning he offers)

Acquire at Darkmoon Faire during its week for the annoying pile of tokens, which you can cram for.
It starts at level 1, that's annoying. level it to 4 or 5 with pet battles in a city. Or level 7 to 8 during Sign of the Critter / pet xp week.
head over to Wetlands or similar "third zone after new toon" area and battle grey pets, or bring a tougher pet so the little one can "stare down the foe" and then swap out.
When you get high enough you can try a somewhat higher zone like Ungoro Crater. Most of the foes there are Beast so you'll be at advantage.
Once you get to about 18 you might be able to take the Pandaria portal from town and battle grey wild pets there to reach 25.

For foe two:
I used Kun Lai Runt (elemental frost > mech). middle power frost shock, third power stun once he's frozen (or skip if you can't), first power punches pretty good but harder if they're stunned. In the ideal world the effect is freeze then stun because of it, then crunched because they're stunned. Take what you actually get, though.

Acquired at Kun-Lai Summit while my monk was doing class dailies. Never left the practice grounds, just nosy around the snowy corners. Capture makes it level 23, go do a few pet battles in Jade Forest or lesser Northrend zones to get to 25.

For foe three:
I have a Wildhammer Gryphon Hatchling (breed "hits hard" iirc? I have to check. might be guardian aka "ton of hp"). Used Flock so amount of damage is increasing, this was especially effective on the mechanical since it killed the Kun Lai.

Acquire in the greener zones of Twilight Highlands. Again, its capture lowers it to 23, do a few fights against grey pets of high level to push it up to 25.
