Hey all,
If you've finished the intro pet taming quests and gotten both BPT: Kalimdor and BPT: Eastern Kingdoms, you're probably wondering where to go next. Here's a rundown:

In Kalimdor, by level:
Traitor Gluk, in Feralas, lvl 13 pets
Grizzle the Great, in Dustwallow March, lvl14 pets
Kela Grimtotem, in Thousand Needles, lvl 15 pets
Zoltan, Felwood, lvl 16 pets
Elena Flutterfly, Moonglade, lvl 17 pets

The Eastern Kingdoms also have lvl13-17 trainers, so if you want to be fighting the trainers on your level, you have to bounce back and forth. Alternatively, you could just run one continent than go to the other and wafflestomp the lower level trainers.

During these quest you get a debuff everytime you challenge a master, preventing you from challenging them (or another) again for 5 mins.

Kind of easy to overlook, and then you wonder why they don't give you a dialogue option.

You can keep fighting the master as long as you have the quest, so it's a good way to level pets without having to look for wild critters.

Edit: This is unfortunately no longer true. It was great while it lasted.

Here is my Quicklist Guide to the second tier of Pet Trainer Quests in Kalimdor. This is a quick reference to see what type of pets you will need to defeat the trainers easily. On Trainers who have the same type of pet for all 3 pets in their party, I would recommend you bring at least two pets that are the opposite type (i.e. bring three appropriate leveled Mechanical types to fight three trainer Beasts). Don't rely on fighting all three of their pets with just one of yours, despite the fact that they will have stronger attacks and defeat them quicker.

To defeat these trainers with maximum efficiency, you will need pets of the following type:
Mechanical, Beast, Humanoid, Elemental, Dragonkin, Magic

I love the strategy people into these...but I wouldn't spend a lot of time leveling anything just to beat a trainer, I been using a critter, humanoid, and dragonkin for all of them so far and several I have done while below the enemies level.

For those that have high level pets and just want to complete these as quickly as possible, the most efficient route FOR HORDE from Orgrimmar:

1. Grazzle the Great — Dustwallow Marsh

Near Onyxia's cave
Closest Flight: Mudsprocket, head directly east

2. Kela Grimtotem — Thousand Needles

On island attached to Grimtotem Pinnacle
Closest Flight: Westreach Summit, head southeast

3. Traitor Gluk — Feralas

In front of Dire Maul
Closest Flight: Stonemaul Hold, head east

Hearth back to Ogrimmar if you can, or go directly to Moonglade if you're a Druid

4. Zoltan — Felwood

East of Jaedenar
Closest Flight: Wildheart Point, go northwest

5. Elena Flutterfly — Moonglade

Southern shore of the lake
Closest Flight: Nighthaven, head directly south

6. Stone Cold Trixxy — Winterspring (follow-up quest)

Along mountain range east of Mazthoril
Closest Flight: Everlook, head southeast

Hey there! So I've been troubled with this for a while now but I think it's time to fix that. So I have 2 accounts on 1 battle net email and my brother abbandoned that quest since it is account wide, before he abbandoned it I have defeated few tamers. Now when I want to pick that quest again I don't have it and I can't challenge any of the tamers, what to do WoWheaders? Please help and thanks in advance!

then click on link for npc page and there look for same, not to mention describe...fly south turn left after 3 min and look around)

Using a level 25 Celestial Dragon and a level 1 pet I went through these pet tamers wearing a Safari Hat and my level 1 came up 1% short of 15 levels when all was said and done.

The trick is to start with Traitor Gluk and not enter your lvl 1 until Prancer starts. In my experience, he is always last and always starts with a buff. Switch out your lvl 1 and finish off Prancer with your lvl 25. Your lvl 1 will jump to lvl 7.

After that, your "lvl 7" should be able to handle one shot against Kela or Grazzle. Beat one of them and you jump to lvl10. Great for the Rookie Pet Crew achievement.

EDIT: This method isn't for everyone, but if you have toons camped at all these Tamer locs, it's an ideal way to get fast leveling and a Sack to boot.

My Suggestion is to start in Dustwallow Marsh and move across to Thousand Needles and Feralas then up to Felwood and Moonglade so you are right near Winterspring for the final

As each of the Alliance and Horde 'Battle Pet Tamers:' quests have a unique quest ID, you are able to carry an Alliance and Horde one at the same time.

They will show as (Account) in your quest log and can be completed by any character.

When you fight each respective Battle Pet Tamer, it will mark off for both Alliance and Horde quest lines and once completed, you will be rewarded with not one but two Sack of Pet Supplies.

It is irrelevant which character you complete this on as both quests will auto-complete in the field. However, the character which accepts the auto-complete will receive the satchels, regardless of which character picked up the quest (this is important if you like your pet goodies on one particular character).

It does not give you a double shot at the Grand Master Quests (example Grand Master Antari)

This is a great way of doubling your chances at pet and battle stone drops.

Here is the Eastern Kingdoms equivalent quest (you are given them both at the same time):

Battle Pet Tamers: Eastern Kingdoms

If your pets are levelling/low level (ie. 13-17) you might find it easier to take the trainers in order of level. This will require hopping back and forth between Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Don't forget the Twilight Highlands portal (if your HS is on cooldown)!

ok, so i went to the battle pet trainers to continue my quests. but when i got there, nothing was available. i cant fight any of the pet tamers. i even went to the last person i was about to fight, and nothing. im not sure how to get my quest line back. if anyone knows, id appreciate some help.

Something that, to me, seems worth mentioning here, is that you can't abandon any of those "Battle Pet Tamers" quests with any other characters than the ones who accepted them - so in case you have your characters scattered all over the realms and tend to pick up and abandon quests a lot depending on the status of your quest log, it may be a good idea to accept the "Battle Pet Tamers" quests with one specific character only. Otherwise you might lose track of that and have a bunch of 'unabandonable' quests stuck in the quest log with every character.

Also, it's true that you can progress on both Horde & Alliance quests (simultaneously) with any character no matter which one accepted the quest but only if you actually have both quests in the quest log, not just the one that's meant for the opposite faction, even though they are hard to distinguish from the other and the blips on the world map still show no matter which faction you're on. I found this to be mildly irritating while questing and having no intention to pet battle.

if you have dropped your quest you can pick it back up at the last tamer you battled they will send you on to the next level tamer.

For those who can't see the quest, here is the solution that worked for me.

SOLUTION
Have a character at around LEVEL 17

There appears to be a minimum level requirement and maximum level restriction for the quest. You won't be able to see it if your level is too high or too low. You can create a new character to see the quest, then just do the quest with your primary character since the quest is shared. I hope Wowhead updates the "Requires level 1" for the quick facts of this guide to help future players. Enjoy!

!f you are here after defeating Cassandra Kaboom, and turning in the homecoming quest with it just seeming to end with no further quests given by Varzok....you must challenge and defeat Stone Cold Trixxy in Winterspring. She will have a quest which turns into a daily quest (you can defeat her twice for the first day) gaining you the "Taming Kalimdor" achievement. Return to Varzok for the next quest.

Thank Blizzard for not making the quest chain complete.

Note the character(s) in question here are L17+. I read a comment saying this quest gets gated by character level, so this is not my issue.

Referring to what I read on this site, they indicate picking up quests from the NPC that starts your journey through whatever continent you select for pet trainers, then after you finish the set, it tells you to accept a quest which simply is not offered. I am trying to unlock all pet trainers for a fresh account that does not share my pet collection or previous history of pet questing, so I'm completely at a loss just what else is needed. A certain achievement? A certain pet level? Something else completely undocumented even on spoiler sites? I really don't have a clue.

Example: Pet Trainers of Kalimdor (Horde). The initial pet quest seems to be gated on getting a pet to L5 then talking to the NPC for the quests, THE NEXT DAY. (Maybe just a relog was necessary?) Same experience for Alliance with Eastern Kingdoms. There is a point in both these quests where you complete a half dozen or so trainer battles (the 3 mechanical pets in Kalimdor for example), then return and turn in your completion. The spoilers simply say to accept the follow-up quest from this very same NPC to complete the continent (e.g., Horde starting with the Ogre you battle just outside Dire Maul). This quest is not offered immediately upon the previous turn-in as stated.

I went to the Ogre pet tamer to see if they had anything to do, and indeed they didn't offer a battle, just dialogue. Same with the one in Everlook.

I am at a loss just what does make the NPC offer this quest. This site says it comes naturally in the chain after turn-in of the previous. That's wrong, and no comments here shed any light on prerequisites for the follow-up, just hints on what teams win vs the remaining tamers. (and the L17 gate which I have already met.)

Helpfulness at this current state is an abject failure for the beginner, obviously not having been tested with a fresh account with only a starting collection of pets and no account unlocks for the various continents. What prerequisite achievements, pet collection size, pet levels, etc. appears to be lacking.

If you cant see this quest after finishing the last one, get on a lv10-49 character, go to chromie time and enable one, go back to this npc and he will now have the 3 quests available (kalimdor/east kingdom and pvp).

Pick them up and then go back to your other char u want to do the quest on.

I had the problem where Varzok wouldn't give me this quest after the first round of Kalimdor trainers and returning to him. Blizzard has a page about it: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/285877

What solved it for me was completing A Dying World and The Heart of Azeroth quests.
