You have to talk to the quest-giver in order to start the quest.

The required mobs won't be visible until you talk to the NPC as noted above. You basically get three lions you control with a vehicle UI. You have to move them about kind of like a RTS to win. Fairly easy once you figure out how to start it >_>

If you don't get enough kills before they stop spawning, you can exit vehicle and talk to the quest giver again. It'll restart, but you'll get kicked out once you reach the needed kills.

I did fly away too soon and forgot to talk to the quest giver. When I came back it's gone and can't find it any more.
I did abandon the Quest, go to the Questgiver at 56.93,62.39 and redo it.

If you dismount whilst still on the quest and redo, you are able to get double the amount of lions, making the process alot swifter :)

You get a quest from him Salhet the Tactician to kill 30 Bloodsnarl Scavengers.
Talk to Salhet to begin the quest, you'll be commanding the lions to kill the Hyena's.

Sometimes the last few will be on the edges of the plateau you're on, and you aren't able to attack them. Exit and talk to Salhet again to restart and get the last few.

For those of you without coordinates, you can find Salhet at the top of a dune/hill on Sunwatcher's Ridge. It overlooks the Vir'naal Oasis and is exactly due west from the dam. Fly up to the ridge.. he's not down in the trees, as I initially thought.

This quest can be confusing because Salhet is also (simultaneously?) located at the temple to the east. His location, for the quest, is 56.9, 62.4.

This is a relatively simple quest which brings up one of those mount bars. You have three options; Move, Fierce Roar, and Claw Flurry. You want to avoid the hyenas from reaching your character and Salhet.

The hyenas will move from each flank, as indicated by the raid warning text. Move your lions over to the side that's being attacked. If you find that both sides are being attacked, use Fierce Roar to scare them into fighting you instead of running past you. When you gather multiple groups of hyenas together, use Claw Flurry to quicken the hyenas' demise.

The lions will auto attack if you move them into the hyenas' general area. The hyenas will aggro the lions and the lions will tear them to shreds. The lions cannot get hurt.

After 30 hyenas die, you can talk to Salhet and turn in the quest.

If any of you guys are feeling lazy the hyenas will auto-attack the lions so you can pretty much AFK this quest!

For those who never played the original warcraft this quest harks back to the gameplay in the original game (warcraft, warcraft II, and warcraft III) where you would command your players from a birds eye view, to move or attack one by one or as a group. The best strategy then and now is to attack single players with a group of players.

Try to get this quest and do it as soon as you get it. I got it first and then left, and days passed and I did not return to Uldum, next thing I know: I was lost.n Looking for posts and stuff. Just get the quest and talk to the guy (the quest giver).

Amusingly you can start the quest, leave, restart, leave and build up quite the army. I sent 12 lions after the enemy just for fun :)

Seems bugged at the moment in that the lions' health doesn't drop at all. So you really can AFK this one now :)

What's up with this quest? I was able to get the first hyenas to appear, and then i get the message "They approach from both sides in great numbers now!" But i don't see any hyenas. Stood there waiting for 15 minutes and didn't see any of them. I can't move the lions either, but i can use the fear ability.

I've tried to do it for about 4-5 times now and same thing happens every single time.

Quest bugged as of january 2014. Don't bother, lions cannot be moved correctlyso don't waste your time trying to do this Q as I did. Also waves bugs sometime and just don't appear.

Quest bugs our really easy. Just don't do anything and let the lions auto kill stuff and /afk to a win. If they die just leave vehicle and do it again and after ~2 attempts you should be able to have the quest finished.

You can prevent the quest from bugging out by not using the second or third ability before the first hyena dies.

The quest is currently bugged. Workaround is to simply use only the "move" command until the first hyena of each pack is dead. Once you've killed the first hyena in each pack, it's safe to use the other two abilities.

Err... a tip, dont use the 2nd or 3rd ability on the first "wave", if you do, some sort of bug happens and the rest of the hyenas wont spawn.

This quest seems very buggy.. at first hyenas stopped appearing, then it stopped counting that they were dying when starting over.

The quest is doable, though now broken.

ONLY USE THE MOVE ABILITY. If you use the other two, it bugs out. But that doesn't matter, since the lions seem invulnerable now. In other words, accept the quest, speak to the quest giver and then wait it out. You don't even have to use the move ability...it just keeps you somewhat engaged while this plays out without you. Otherwise, good for a bathroom break, I suppose...or a snack.

This quest currently needs fixing, though I fear if it never will be attended to.

After several attempts, I finally completed the quest, only to be swarmed by about 15 hyenas. Even after leaving the area and mounting up I was chased down and knocked out of the sky by them. Thankfully they despawned after I resurrected and came back. My poor rogue didn't stand a chance.

Completed with no problems at all. Used the attack abilities a couple of times and lost one of the lions, but no issues.

Thankfully the 'hyena killed count' doesn't reset if you have to jump out of the lion controls. Took me about 4 times to complete.

Salhet the Tactician is still bugged in 6.2.3.

However, you can still complete the quest by skirting around the bug using the move ability only. Using the second and third abilities seems to either stop more hyenas from spawning, or prevents you from moving the lions.

Fortunately if you exit the vehicle the hyena counter doesn't reset.

Okay, to complete this quest, don't use the 2nd or 3th ability at all.
Use only the 1st ability when needed.

Some of your lions might die but some should survive even when not using abilities.
Atleast so I just completed this, only one of my lions died.

The quest appears to work for me, I was able to use the second ability and it didn't stop the hyenas spawning nor prevented the lions from moving.

A simple enough quest but with THE stupidest and weakest mechanics of ANY quest just about EVER.

I have never been a fan of the "here's a totally new mechanic we thought we would drop on you randomly" quest design. Case. In. Point.

Description

Ever since I was a cub, I've always wanted to be a general.

I was eager to join the army. But as you've seen, my combat skills are not all quite there.

This is not the first time I've been sent to kill hyenas. As a matter of fact, I get sent here so often, that I've befriended these lions and trained them to do my bidding.

They are my soldiers and at my command they will slay legions of hyenas. Watch!
