The key is in the middle of the cave. But don't turn in so quickly. You're likely to have Mastering Puppets with you. Do that first, and its follow up Elementary!. After that, the ogres become neutral, then turn in this quest, because you'll escort him out in the next quest:

Leads to Get Me Outta Here!

End of the Supply Line and Harrying the Hunters can be done by both factions, but "The Voice of..." followup requrement is different.
Goldrinn's Ferocity and Howling Mad allows other players to share you quests next on line, but Lycanthoth the Corruptor {H} will let you be in same phase as npc.
Into the Maw!{A2 ;H ;H2}. There are 2Alliance and 2Horde variants, for each faction one from wolf spirit and one backup from main quest guy in Shrine of Goldrinn.
Whole Firelands Forgeworks(8) chain doesn't have any pre-quests. You can get first time to Hyjal and ask warlock to summon you there and do the quests. However Lightning in a Bottle {H} is needed to use the standart teleport.

If you speak to him, you get more than just the option to release him. The following gets said:

Still bugged, i d say let the b@sterd hang there if he "is quitte busy" as he claims, and his "hi there, what can i do for u?" annoyed me too, he deserves to hang there and die a slow agonising death (evil smiley)

just finished on a 81 troll druid.

If you can stealth you can avoid all mobs and just walk out (the NPC has stealth)

I am a 83 DK, was able to do the quest but took me forever to figure out where to turn it in. If anyone else is having the same issue, you turn the quest in to the guy (your quest giver) who is hanging from a hook inside the cave. If anyone else has this issue, I hope this helps.

After many minutes (hours) of wasting time on the quest "Get me outta here" I finally figured out I had to finish (and turn in to the gal on the side of the mountain) the quest "In the rear with the gear". Once you have done that she will give you further quest such as Lycanthoth the Corruptor" which will finally allow you to turn in the quest "Get me outta here"....WHEW!

I feel like Blizzard really missed the opportunity to name this quest, "Gar'gol's Gotta Gar'go"

Funny enough, if you do this wit a highlevel char the aggro-range is low enough that you can just loot the chest containing the key without fighting the Ogre, meaning Gar'gol can actually just stay.

It is his cave after all, who are we to kick him out?
