The NPC that follows you around may not properly reset to Mezzamere. If you have the quest completed and Bladesman Inowari is still following you, try to zone out of Nazjatar (I took the portal from Mezz to Boralus) then take the Boralus portal back to Nazjatar. That should make the NPC show up properly to turn in this quest. At least it did for me.

If you have the quest completed and Bladesman Inowari is still following you, look at your buffs and remove the one that mentions "Inowari is following you". The NPC will then reset and you can hand in the quest without zoning out.

This appears to be broken if you don't take Blademaster Inowari with you to do the quest. I completed the quest without him, returned to Mezzamere, and I couldn't turn it in. Talking to him just makes him follow me around and then I still can't turn in the quest. Removing the buff to release him just sends him back so that I can talk to him, but the quest is still showing as incomplete despite the fact that I completed the objectives.

Turning on Warmode fixed the bug for me. Zoning and logging did not.

If your having trouble handing in this quest and only get the option "let us continue our mission" from the NPC, try turning Warmode ON (you will have to go to SW/Org). After completing the quest multiple times with no turn in this worked for me! Good luck.

Me (and a bunch of people in chat) are unable to complete, no matter what we do. Right-clicking to dismiss the companion isn't working, porting to Boralus and back isn't working, logging out and back in isn't working, disabling addons isn't working (although to be fair it's almost never addons). I walked in and out of camp from every angle on foot and on mount, tried to go back to the enemy camp and dismissing the companion from there. Lastly, I completely abandoned the quest and tried again, and got the same result. It's simply impossible to complete for some people. Opened a ticket and waiting on a response now.

I didn't have high hopes for 8.2 content, but I expected to at least be able to play the thing.

I can get the NPC to go back, but just can't get credit for the quest. Guess I'm putting in a ticket. :P

So this quest bugged out on me while I had warmode disabled, none of the recommendations others suggested worked, but once I went to Stormwind switched warmode to on came back and it was ready for turn in.

Trying going to Stormwind, toggling on War Mode, turning in the quest, and that should work.

We went back in and killed strictly naga, no octopus or other dudes, and it finally completed.

Even though it said we had killed 15 originally, we went back in and killed about 7 more strictly naga and then came back and it completed.

Oh and we also turned off our addons just to see if that was the issue.

I tried everything, relogging, reloading, portalling out and back, dropped the quest and re-did it, clicked the buff off for the follower in Mezzamere, before I got to Mezzamere... nothing worked.

Until.. I turned Warmode on.

My advice is, try whatever you can. Certain things are working for some but not others.

I went to SW to try toggling WM and noticed an additional optional step, take the portal from the Wizard's Sanctum to Boralus... so I did... then took the next optional step from Boralus to Nazjatar... and he was there. I am guessing that going to SW is fixing the quest as opposed to toggling WM as some report.

I'll be the millionth person here to confirm: enabling WM fixes the issue.

Port from Mezzamere > Boralus > Stormwind. Enabled WM. Port Stormwind > Boralus > Mezzamere. The good thing is you don't have to run/search for the ports.

Tried other suggested solutions, but only WM fixed the issue. Have to imagine they'll patch this soon, but for now this is the workaround.

You can avoid the mind-shackled Ankoans. They don't count towards the quest :(

No one mentions that you can only kill the Naga in the area marked on the world map for this. Even though the whole zone is full of Naga....

In order to unlock this quest, you need to do these first:
The Lost Shaman
Elemental Fury
Rescue The Farseer

Afterwards, you can unlock the Rustbolt resistance quests.

Just had to portal back to Boralus and back to hand it in. Have never had to turn on warmode on all my alts to hand this in
