To kill the bookworms you need to click on them which will make you squash them. attacking and killing will not give credit

To complete the quest, you either need to interact with the Bookworm (which will cause you to JUMP on them, squashing them) or you can, in fact, DPS them down and get credit. It may take several jumps to squash the bookworm completely.
I personally found it to be much more simple and quick to click the worms.

If you have any trouble turning these quests in, make sure you have already turned in the previous quest where you find the four playful serpents. I was unable to turn in this quest or Moth-Ridden until I had turned in that one.

One could banter back and forth about using your mighty powers for Good and DPSing down the bookworms. However, it is much funnier to use the golden hand cursor and watch your 'toon jump on them with a very satisfying squish, complete with a spray of gray goo. The smaller your 'toon (ie dwarf, gnome or goblin), the funnier it is. Bring your camera in nice and close and have a few laughs.

Click the cogwheel, click the golden hand and , to quote River Tam, "Squish!"

(ETA,Funnier still...my demented water elemental started firing on the dead worms. Silly boy.)

I'm lost... please tell me how to get there ;( . Idk if its in the DJ, i went inside and finished it but Lorewalker Stonestep didn't had the quest. Do i need to do the DJ or go somewhere else?

As of today in patch 8.0, this quest no longer works if you jump on them. Don't be like me that wasted 5min trying to jump on them for several times, doing it DOES NOT work.

The only way to complete the quest is if you dps them down, that way works.

Don't be like me and do this quest half a dozen times before you realize you don't need to kill the bookworms. You just need to click on them to "squash" them. *face palm*

I just completed this quest on a lv 56 Paladin, and got a weird reward bug. Instead of just getting the Jade Tiger Warboots I picked, all three of the available boot rewards appeared in my bag.
