Instant death. And while I loved the goblin starting area, I'm getting a bit fed-up with no general chat, one quest at a time, can only train in first-aid because that's all that's available, etc. If I'd wanted to live this way, I would have created a DK.

Very frustrating quest as a warrior... if I missed once, I basically couldn't catch up. It took me multiple tries to finally get him. I don't know if it was just luck, but as suggested above I opened the fight with my rocket barrage when he was doing an electrical overload and that seemed to make the difference.

EDIT - Response to Catoria's comment that there is no profession trainer for Goblins other than first Aid; there is. In the same building as the first aid trainer (once you deploy the town-in-a-box) there is a vending machine named "KTC Train-a-Tron Deluxe". It teaches ALL primary and secondary professions (except Archeology) and sells all of the tradeskill items to boot.

i agree with you guys... this quest is almost impossible. i almost gave up. i tried using a rocet barrage when the chicken becomes crazy and starts to jump and release blue sparks... AND THAT WORKED! hope that works for you guys (thumbs up if this worked for you too)

Here's What I did to complete the quest- behind the First aid trainer is a profession machine I learned Alchemy and Herbalism I made 1 Minor Healing Potion and a Elixir of Minor defense and put that on. Use Rocket Barrage, then Lifeblood, (from learning Herbalism) at about half YOUR Heath use your Minor Healing Potion, Kill the chicken and get your egg! Good luck. =)

got him on my first try. im a goblin rogue so i went stealthed behind him and did ambush and then eviscrate when it was up and just sinister strike and eviscrate when possible and i didnt have to use my rocket thing either. but i did ambush him when he did the blue circut thing so hope this helps rogues

This quest is so bad. On my little Goblin shaman I did fine, but as a rogue it's based entirely on luck. The miss rate of a dual wielding level 7 rogue just means you are rolling the dice

I have died so many times that I have a 2 minute rez timer, the one time I did kill the chicken, he killed me too and by the time I could rez the egg despawned.

There's nothing about his animations that give you a better chance to attack, the animation of him shorting out cancels immediately when you aggro and he begins rocket barraging for about 50 damage.

I just don't get how this quest is at all reasonable for a level 7

Died several times as a level 7 warrior. Then signed up for herbalism, which comes with the oh-so-handy "lifeblood" feature to heal myself! Ended the fight with minimal health, but got the job done.

Goblins are fun indeed, but..

1 ^&*!ing quest at a time. And then this quest.

Only way i found to do it as a rogue. If you get it at lvl 7, don't do it. Go kill some raptors till you get to 8. Get ambush, wait for it to go berzerk, ambush and spam everything you got including the rocket crap.

&*!@ing hell.

If you take herb/alch, this quest is a non issue. Pop rocket barrage, pop Lifesblood, then use an hp potion when the bird gets your life low.

Far and away the hardest pre-level 10 quest I've ever seen in this game.

As said in another post the secret is waiting until he is being electrocuted by his Overload, then attack.
Tip for rogues: I did this as level 7 but if you wait for level 8 you'll get Ambush and can open with that, then rocket attack before starting Sinister Strike/Eviscerate; should be easier with Ambush

I have completed this one on a few characters now, with most of my health gone. I have most recently done this on a rogue. Use rocket barrage right off the bat. I'm not sure if most people do this by default, but it adds the extra umph needed to win. The fight shouldn't last long enough to use it a second time, but use it again just in case. Besides rocket barrage, wear him down with eviscerate after 4 or 5 combo points. Completed on first try level 7 rogue with not much health left.

TLDR: Use barrage. It makes the difference.

This is my solution. Go on your main, if you have one, or just go on another character, and buy some potions on AH or something else where you can buy potions.

Without getting a profession, this is one of THE most annoying quests to finish. In fact, you can't finish it WITHOUT getting the skills that are behind the first aid trainer in Town-in-a-Box.

It would be nice if there was a quest to the profession box, because I've gone through this about 8 times trying to kill him.... You can't without a heal.

I tried this multiple times as a lvl 8 rogue. Following all the advice above I still was never able to get the win. Against my better sportsman ideals I went ahead and had an alt send my toon some health pots. Killed the chicken immediately. Done.

Save yourself many headaches. Have an alt or someone send you health pots!

as a rogue, wait til lvl 8 for ambush. stealth to him, his detection isnt any good, ambush, sin strike, rocket barrage, two more sin strikes, evis, and he should be dead or almost close too, did this and won with about 45 health left, and had strictly quest rewards, no pots or heals

I tried this a bunch of times as a lvl 7 rogue, even lvled to 8 to see if ambush would work, but ambush is too much of a waste of energy on this guy. If you're a rogue, spam sinister strike till you run out of energy, use your rockets, and then sinister 2 more times, Then eviscerate should kill him, before he kills you.

By some miracle I pulled this off as a level 7 rogue. Took about 6 tries, just spamming Sinister Strike, Evicerate on 4 points, and of course a barrage. Get lucky with a 4 point Evicerate Crit and it should die.

This is simply ridiculous for a lvl 7 rogue. As soon as you get in his range, he aggros regardless of his status of wigging out or not. I ran in, hit him with 2 SS's then energy for a eviscerate - then pop rockets on him, still cant take him down after 5-6 tries. This is the only quest I have as well. This was poorly designed by Blizzard at this level.

Pop in Power Word: Shield and SW:P and Smite spam. PW:S will keep everything absorbed :p

Did this as an lvl 7 Rogue by picking up Herbalism to get Lifeblood.
Afterwards you can just pick the professions you really want.

I recommend levelling to level 8 before attempting this as a Rogue.

I took 6 deaths whilst attempting it as a level 7, levelled to level 8 and did it on my first go.

Ambush along with Rocket Barrage is a great help.

Tricky as a Rogue, but here's how I did it (level 7):

Having a health potion to pop halfway through can make all the difference - send a few to your goblin from an alt (there's a mailbox at the Town-in-a-box).

First a rant, then some tips

My rant is not towards Blizzard, but towards the many people QQ'ing this quest is so hard. Seriously? This is the first quest as a Goblin that has any challenge it in. It is the first one that has a chance of dying. Yes I died 3 times as a rogue before nailing it. Is that realy so hard?

Back in vanilla and TBC these quests were normal, and people considered them fun. Come on people, be a little creative. Not everything needs to be like a hot knife trough butter ... And be honest, do you really think that is fun, if all quests are almost auto-complete?

I did it as a rogue and it took me 4 tries. Some tips:

1) Get a friend. Or even a complete stranger. There are usually many other people in the same area and all need to go through this quest. Sure you can team up.

2) Send pots. heirblooms, etc from a alt.

3) Wait untill you are lvl 8. That doesn't take long anyway. Level up your profressions in the mean time.

4) Learn herbalism and get lifeblood.

5) Do what I did: upgrade your gear. The Orc base has a lot of upgrades compared to the quest-reward gear most of us had.

6) Just try a few times. As a rogue I tried different techniques. In the end I just went for a sinsters sinester evicerate and repeat. However after each sinister I ran into the mob. Perhaps I was lucky, but he needed to turn and could not hit me at that time. So I had 45% health left.

This also forces you to inspect your class a bit better. Most mobs just die in two or three strikes, so there is never any need for optimisation. I bet you can get more dps out of your lvl 7 than you think, by just trying a few variants.

Come one guys (and girls), a few harder quests are fun. That are the real quests, we heroes of Azeroth are needed for!

For a Rogue :

Stealth -> Ambush -> Sinister Strike x 2 -> Used Rocket -> Eviscrate -> Sinister Strike. Then he died took me like 4 times to do this so get your timings right

Wow, so much QQ. Vanilla would have eaten all you complainers alive. It is OK for a quest to be hard/tricky.

I agree with the people who say wait until level 8 though, it does make it much more doable. If you can't do it at level 8 using the belt rockets, you are doing something wrong.

If another player kills him the egg is lootable by everyone. If you are on a well populated server you probably won't even have to fight him.

i am a groblin warrior lvl 8..how i won is the first time
1- charge
2- rocket barrage
3- rend and strike back and forth

i used bandge the heal 1 time or use health postion

something to heal at least once best is:
1 time bandage then health posion when need

Description

Bamm Megabomb? Who does he think he is? His spiny raptor eggs are no match for what we are about to recover!

As you well know, each Town-In-A-Box is equipped with a micro mechachicken for just such a dietary emergency. Luckily for us, my keen intellect was able to deduce the location that our prodigious, pre-programmed poultry ran off to.

Head north to the Scorched Gully. But beware, its circuit boards are fried and I imagine it's not so micro any longer!
