Go to 47,37 or 52,28.
Kill the Fern Feeder Moths, they drop the Gossamer Dust. About a 40% droprate on the dust but you only need 4.

There's no way this is a 43% drop rate. I farms for about 30 minutes and killed roughly 40 moths (level 80) with not a single drop. I do have the quest, so I have no idea if this is bugged or not.

For all the people who don't have a pinpoint locater, want to see the sights, or don't have Questhelper; when Ruuna says, 'northeast of here,' she means southwest of the Westfall Brigade Encampment (either there or in the yellow markings around it). Now, no doubt you have seen the moths -- but now they're actually useful to kill! The drop rate percentage is uncertain... between 1/2 or 1/3 moths. Easy quest, but don't aggro too many because at 78 I went back and did this quest, aggro'd 5, and had my pet help (growl off). They got me down to 1/3 health before I killed them all at once with volley. Hope this helps.

I have killed about 50 of these Moths, and haven't seen a single Gossamer Dust. I even dropped the quest and went back to Ruuna to reacquire it. Killed ~30 or so more, and still no drops.

Any ideas what I'm missing here?

Just finished the quest and I've noticed that only when I attacked moths while they were casting the sprlinkle-gold-butterfly thing they dropped the dust. I guess its a small tip for finishing it faster and 100% drop rate

Gossamer Dust it's a drop from moths that can be found across Grizzlemaw area.
There alot of them, but the chance of drop is terrible, I had to kill 25+ to loot four Gossamer Dust.

Description

I will not charge you gold for my services, for I can foresee that your actions are necessary and much hinges on what you learn today.

I will, however, ask you to collect a reagent for me. Obtain gossamer dust from the fern feeder moths northeast of here. Do this and I will prepare a potion that will take you to the time and place where the events took place that you need to witness.
