Not too sure why Starlin got down-rated, seeing as the Isle of Giants is in fact to the North of Kun-Lai Summit in this updated map: http://www.wowpedia.org/File:WorldMap-Pandaria.jpg?c=1.

Edit: Fist, that's the Isle of Thunder. That zone is mainly for the Throne of Thunder and the dailies (with their respective factions). The Isle of Giants is mostly just for grinding the Giant Dinosaur Bones for the Reins of the Bone-White Primal Raptor, which awards the Feat of Strength I've Got 9999 Problems but a Bone-White Primal Raptor Ain't One. You can also find the world boss Oondasta here.
It is also for Hunters who intend to acquire the Ancient Tome of Dinomancy.

This is the island north of Kun'Lai Summit
黏性迷雾 in effect and you cannot fly. Prepare to be dismounted if you're flying to get there.
乌达斯塔 is a World Boss located in the center of the island at the mud pits.
战神多坎 is a Rare spawn found on the ship Southeast of island.
巨型恐龙骨头 drop from the elites and are currency for: 白色原始迅猛龙缰绳, 幽灵小箭猪, etc
原始恐龙蛋 drops from dinosaurs. This gives a shot at Primal Raptor mounts.

5x just hatched on my 5x different chars and got in this order: Black, Red, Red, Green, Black. Proven same mount received mult times
Keep in mind the odds of getting all 3/3 different colors on first three eggs are just 2 in 9 (or 22%).

[白色原始迅猛龙缰绳 Info:

Similar in coloring, yet distinctly different, to 白色迅猛龙之哨 removed in patch 1.4
Turning in 9999x 巨型恐龙骨头 to 库玛 for 堆积如山的巨型恐龙骨头 grants mount.
Learning mount grants Feat of Strength: 我有无数问题，但白色原始迅猛龙不是问题
After 1 mount learned, it can be used on any char merged on battle.net account. (As a 5 boxer, I confirmed this on 3/10/13 when I got mount)

Well I'm not sure what the problem is but I can't find the island. I have read all the comments and I can't figure out how to get there. I may be just dumb but it sucks not know how to get somewhere. Looking forward to tameing a new pet. So if you can help me that would be nice.

Flying is not allowed on this island. 黏性迷雾 pops up and instantly dismounts you when you're in the nearby water.

Logged in today, no battle pets, did put in some bones. These are lvl 90 elites and the Dinomancer's self heal no way to kill them without help.
Not sure what your supposed to take from this information but was very dissappointed couldnt get a battle pet.

middle of the island are humanoids. they have low hp. i killed about 6 or so and got a pet. so if u can sneak your way there you should have a good farming spot.

To get to the island initially you must fly through fatigue. After the first time you can use the Flight path.

screw that kill the 6 mil dino just kill the dinomancers or whatever they are called with the simple 1 mil. when he does the dino heal just slience shot him. and its a pretty quick kill. i got zero pets. but after 4 kills of those i got the tomb to tame the dinos.

You can actually fly there if you have a slow fall effect. When Clinging Mists pops up use your slow fall ability and fall down slowly to the water. The fatigue effect will disappear and with a little swimming you will get to the island.

Horde FP is in 52,75.
Alliance FP is in 41,79.

You need to get to the island to discover them. Using the Azure Water Strider mount helps a lot!

If you look on the map you'll see a big boat. On the boat there are loads of the zandalari dinomancers. Also a primal devilsaur. There is also the rare named war-god dokah, hard if not impossible to solo because of all the ads, and also because he got all the spells that the war-gods are able to have. To get on the boat you must jump on one of the big bones from the smaller boats and if you aren't able to stealth you must die to reach the rare, unless you manage to kill all dinomancers and the primal devilsaur.

They reaaaaallllly need to make the bones here work like the commendations in krasarang. It's more time efficient for me to solo hatchlings than go with a group and kill the big stuff and only get loot every 4th or 5th dino.

I love the idea behind this place(form a hunting party and go nuts) but the way the bones loot right now is really hurting it's potential.

the rare spawn that is on the boat drops some kinda thingys that gives 1000 Reputation with shado pan (not shado pan assault) Golden lotus and klaxxi. it should also drop a bag that give's some 4? gear. from the mobs on the isle you can get bones(i think 7-2? bones each mob.) for a mount (9999 bones) a pet (999 bones) spirit of harmony (99 bones) mote of harmony (9 bones) and 2 gold (1 bone) you can also kill the world boss that spawn from 48-96 hours (oondasta) that give some 522 gear and 491 pvp gear.

If you are going to farm bones as a warlock, try to get 枯萎的睡莲. Having rejuvenation is quite handy.

If anyone is wondering, yes it IS possible to get on Isle of Giants while under 90 without flying, summons or friends helping with expensive 2-seat flying mounts.

More then that, it's actually a good place to level skinning. I had an idea to level skinning on my lvl 85 priest (which i'm unlikely to level any time soon). It takes some time to run from starting Pandaria quest all the way to Kun-Lai, but not as much as you may think. Crossing the fatigue to the Isle is pretty easy with any kind of water-walking that lets you mount (i used my Water Strider from Anglers rep) - it takes about 20 sec to cross out of 1 min of fatigue.

And with all those bones farming around, it's pretty easy to just skin whatever's nearby, no need to even go deep inside the isle. A priest-specific tip: mind vision helps alot to find dead dinos if used on those flying Pterrorwings.

Wow this reminds me so much of the zerus missions from Starcraft HotS: Primals who are evolving a lot. The textures are also more or less the same.

Although my first thoughts were a jurassic park reference too, I think this whole island is actually a reference to the dinosaur island or T-rex island in the game Final Fantasy 3 (FF3) on the Super Nintendo. This game was also considered to be Final Fantasy 6 (FF6) on playstation.. Some players also called the location dinosaur forest or t-rex forest too. It had many names but it was just a small patch of forest located on an island in the World of Ruin. By the time you got to that point in the game, usually most of your characters would be hitting enemies for 9999 damage if you had leveled them up enough.

And 9999 damage was the maximum possible that you could inflict on any creature. Also most t-rex monsters could usually inflict a very high amount of damage to your characters which would usually kill them instantly unless you had auto revive or some way of saving yourself. This is compared to WoW, where the same thing will often happen to you unless you have a good tank and healer or an effective solo class.

T-rex island was also home to a brachiosaur which used the most powerful spell in the game called Ultima. This spell usually did 9999 damage to every member in your party. It was often the party wiper unless you had some way of saving yourself as well. So for all of these reasons, that explains where the 9999 references come from including the achievement for the raptor mount and just the fact that you need 9999 bones to buy it.

And one other fact about t-rex island that might be unrelated to WoW is that many players also claimed that you could encounter a rare golden dragon too but this has still been largely unproven. Probably one of the most debated rumors in FF6 however and really interesting if you actually got into that game. I spent many long hours and days hoping to find it. I often think of the rare dragon as Oondasta although it is much easier to find Oondasta for sure. And perhaps Oondasta could also be compared to the Brachiosaur too since some of Oondasta's spells were also raid wipers, similar to what the Ultima spell could do to a party in FF6.

To the explorers:
1. Getting here is easy, take a flight path to Zouchin Village in Kun-lai summit. Travel straight north through fatigue until you hit the island. The island is a no-fly zone so you will be dismounted before you get there; fly low until you dismount, then swim. Bring a water-walking potion, mount, or ability to make the trip easier.

2. Noob Warning. Once you hit the shore get your flight path, and go home. :-) The warning is - all the mobs are elite. I hoped there might be some non-elite around the side or back but after some exploring I found a lot of hurt in every area of the island.

3. No back entry. I took the long swim around the island so you don't have to; there is no way up from the outside. Follow the dotted paths on your built-in ap.

4. NOT Skinner's Paradise. While the mobs here are mostly skinnable, and mostly solo-able, they are a fair bit of work for a few skins. If you are lucky to be here when a team of bone farmers is around then you might luck out with a lot of skins but generally speaking it isn't worth the trip for skins alone.

I'd like to bring some thoughts as a level 90 ilvl 498 (ungemmed and unenchanted) affliction Warlock.

Zandalari Dinomancers: Voidwalker gives zero chance of damage for you, but fight will take longer unless you've specced into an interrupt. The Felhunter's interrupt is nice, but lack of taunt will mean you can (will) get a good thwomping sub-50%. I've only fought them 1v1, but I hypothesize that as long as you keep them focused on the voidwalker, you're good. Fear will probably help here as well.

I haven't seen this mentioned, but Dinomancers will only heal ONCE. Also, it is possible to DPS them down before they can heal (I did this once by popping both trinkets and DS). Lastly, if you get them to 50% while they are casting, the heal will be interrupted by their transformation.

EDIT: Apparently, they CAN heal more than once IF you give them enough time. That, or if they evade when you attack them, gives them additional heals - in my situation, I attacked, he evaded, I moved to an area where he could reach me, he casted one heal in place, ran to me, then casted a second heal as normal. He was about to cast his third when I knocked him sub-50%.

Primal Direhorn Hatchlings: Voidwalker, easy as pie. That said, I suggest waiting until he gets low to Soulburn: Health Funnel, which will heal him to almost 100% and also negate the next Triple Puncture (10 sec damage reduction).

Big Dinosaurs: They will eat you alive. Really - I tried to take on a Primal Direhorn - Got him to six million, he chewed up two voidwalkers even with a soulburned Health Funnel, then I decided to (wisely) run for my life.

I haven't engaged any other types of Dinosaurs, but I presume that the Primal Devilsaur Hatchlings are soloable, just a bit more difficult.

The "Battle Pet" tag list is missing Direhorn Runt, which is available in Health, Power and Speed versions. Drops from Direhorns (all versions but obviously a higher chance from the large versions).

The Direhorn Runt also drops here from the Primal Direhorns at 5% drop rate, and from the Direhorn Hatchlings at around 1.8%

For anyone annoyed by the crashing stamping sound effect the Primal Devilsaurs make, the name and location for your sound override files is the following:

• Location:
1. In your main wow folder, if it doesn't already exist, make a "Sound" folder.
2. Inside the Sound folder, if it doesn't already exist, make a "Doodad" folder.
3. Inside the Doodad folder, create and place the following two sound override files:

• Files
1. firelands_breakable_rock_platform_01_open01.ogg
2. firelands_breakable_rock_platform_01_open01.wav

Note: Blizzard is completely OK with doing this. You will NOT get in trouble!

I'm currently on the isle for the first time since Mists, and have managed to kill ONE small dinosaur. Not because they are so hard, but because every time I initiate combat or even try to cast a spell on myself, I disconnect. By some fluke of amazing luck, I got the direhorn runt pet off that one kill, but was hoping to farm some bones :(

You can fly to the Isle of Giants, you can survive the fatigue but if you have Engineering and you can make the Goblin Glider Kit do it, it saved me from a deadly fall, or you can entertain yourself and fly up high and when you're dismounted just click it and you can spiral down and surprise some people if they're nearby. Have fun ^^
