赞达拉袭胫者 is one of four mini 乌达斯塔 look-a-like companion pets that drop from mobs on 巨兽岛

The four raptors are different colors:
赞达拉撕踝者: Has a pale auqa/blue body with dark slate blue blotches, a dark grey helm, white tusks and horns.
赞达拉裂足者: Has a ruddy/rusty color body with darker splotches and a gold helm with pale horns and tusks.
赞达拉袭胫者: Has a smoky purple body with darker scales, a silver helm, white tusks and horns.
赞达拉啮趾者: Has a white/cream body with bronze/dusty pink helm, grey tusks and horns.

5.2 live is here and my bone farm has started all over again and I'm happy to report there isn't really a farm required for these pets. I had all with in 200 kills which compared to other world drop pets is pretty breezy. Happy hunting!

The drop rate has been hotfixed. Will post estimated new ratios once I get a clearer idea of them.

From Wowhead news:

drop from Isle of Giants. "This unique raptor was born on the island of Zandalar and transported here along with the rest of the Zandalari army."

The model is a dark greyish raptor model like the ones we are used to, but the model wears a troll-style helmet that looks to be made of stone.

These drop quite frequently. I spent about 45 minutes farming dinomancers on the beach, and got 5 赞达拉袭胫者, 1 赞达拉裂足者, 1 赞达拉啮趾者, and 1 赞达拉撕踝者. This off of 32 dinomancers, based on the number of 巨型恐龙骨头 in my bags. As such, I found this particular pet to drop the most often. It seems to have a very high drop rate compared to the others, but given my small sample size, that is likely RNG being RNG.

The drop rates were nerfed in a recent hotfix to greatly reduce how much they dropped, likely because the numbers we were seeing were too high.

All zandalari dinos were hotfixed on 3/11/13 to have a much lower drop percentage.

While this pet is bind on pickup, you can cage it after you have learned it and sell/trade/mail it to others.

To anyone hunting all of these dinos, don't let the drop rate nerf discourage you. My Ele Shaman buddy and I (on my Disc Priest) farmed these guys for about 2 hours straight. In that amount of time, we were able to find two of every dino (and an extra of each besides Kneebiter).

It still seems to be roughly a 5% drop for each, give or take a few percentages (I'm not sure if Wowhead's 5% is before or after the nerf, but it seems to be about right). We got our first dino on our second kill, but didn't see another one for about twenty minutes of grinding. All in all, it is a bunch of work if you want the entire set, but it is extremely rewarding (just look at how cute the little guys are!)

If you want any tips, I suggest that you:

- Kill ONLY the Zandalari Dinomancers. This is the only mob that drops the pets. They only drop one bone each, so you are basically sacrificing bone drops for a chance at pet drops.

- Interrupt their skill Dino Mending. If you are soloing these guys, getting them down to half health takes some work, so if you don't interrupt them, it can become very frustrating.

- Bring a friend with you. I know I would go crazy killing these guys by myself. Your friend would be stealing your every other bone, but you would (hopefully) have extra interrupts, and it makes the experience a lot more enjoyable/simple.

- If you are on a high-pop server, farm mainly in the morning. My friend and I grinded out the mobs around 11 a.m. EST, and there was rarely anyone else there.

- If you want to skip a lot of dinosaurs without aggroing as easily, there is a vendor on either side of the island depending on your race (east side for Horde, west for Alliance) that sells Intact Direhorns. We used these to get to the mobs much easier.

And of course, don't get frustrated and give up! Remember, the drops are all RNG, so you may have an hour without any drops, but in the next 10 minutes, you could get them all.

(And if all else fails, on the servers I play on, these dinos are all still roughly 250g each, which is very cheap for the amount of time needed to farm them.)

As for the battle pet, 赞达拉袭胫者 (as well as his 3 cousins: 赞达拉撕踝者, 赞达拉裂足者 & 赞达拉啮趾者) can come randomly with one of four different sets of stats:

148 HP - 12 Dmg - 12 Spd
145 HP - 11 Dmg - 14 Spd
145 HP - 14 Dmg - 11 Spd
145 HP - 12 Dmg - 12 Spd

Was farming for the tome to allow me to tame Dierhorns, and with luck I found this little guy on my 7th kill, found the tome around 16 kills, and I just wish to say, I hate the dinomancers heals T~T

This and Zandalari Anklerender are in my opinion strongest pets against all pet tamers in general. I use 3x of them. Even after having 300+ 25lvl pets I use these 70% of time with my alts to farm dailys just because they save time with their killing speed.

For anyone going back over old content to farm these guys, the drop rate in 7.1 (Legion) doesn't seem like the 1.7% stated here. I went there today expecting a long farm, but I got all 4 (plus duplicates of 3) within half an hour. I got the first two within the first two packs I killed.

Just run in a circle around the island, all of the mobs ignore you at 110, and just kill the dinomancers , which are easily one-shotted. Happy hunting :)

Are all very common pets being a by-product from farming 巨型恐龙骨头 or 原始恐龙蛋.

While it might not seem very intuitive you're probably best of just selling these raptors to a vendor. Pets are infamously slow items to sell on the auction house and on a lot of servers the prices of these floats just around (and often well below) 100G, In the meantime they have an unusually high vendor value of 62.5G. If you learn the pet and than cage it you will of course not be able to vendor it.
