But the moment i saw the achi, I knew I had to have it in a way or another... Oh well, there's gonna be a lot of dead lizards in my future... I hate when Blizz does that!

Similar in coloring, yet distinctly different, to 白色迅猛龙之哨 removed in patch 1.4
Turning in 9999x 巨型恐龙骨头 to 库玛 for 堆积如山的巨型恐龙骨头 grants mount.
Learning mount grants Feat of Strength: 我有无数问题，但白色原始迅猛龙不是问题
After 1 mount learned, it can be used on any char merged on battle.net account. (As a 5 boxer, I confirmed this on 3/10/13 when I got mount)

Drop from Elites in 巨兽岛 which is the island north of Kun'Lai Summit
Each Elite has 2-13 million health and drops 1x-45x Bones.
Currently stack to 999 (that's still 10x stacks of bag space reserved for this)
Currency for 幽灵小箭猪 x1000, 祥和之灵 x100, 祥和微粒 x10, or about 2gold x1
原始恐龙蛋 also drops while gathering bones. This gives a shot at additional mounts.

I've Got 9999 Problems but a Bone-White Primal Raptor Isn't One

The 20 inventory slots the turn-in items are going to take up is a problem though.

It seems that this achievement is going to be extremely time consuming. As a 465 warlock I am only able to fight the baby primal dinosaurs that are on the island. Only one at a time also. My voidwalker that tanks the add ends up dying halfway through the fight, forcing me to use my flames of xorroth. I kill them and usually gain 6-12 bones a kill. The dino-mancers are not a good kill becaue they only drop 1-2 bones per kill and take half the time to kill than the baby dinos.

say a dino is killed in 2 mins. drops 9 bones.
the dino-mancer is killed in 1 min. drops 2 bones.
add the equivalency and bam
dino killed in 2 mins. drops 9 bones.
2 dino-mancers are killed in 2 mins. drops 4 bones.

Previous comment is incorrect as achievements are account wide. It was done by Drakmoon on Illidan with the help of Haterades of Magtheridon and Utofftark of Illidan with lots of guildies helping towards the end. It gave a Feat of Strength but NO server/world first achieve. He is awaiting a GM response about it. Posting Screen shot of him on it

If you find 9999 bones daunting, just think of it this way: If you farm up 100 bones per day, it'll only take you about 3.33 months (repeating of course)!

The bones are to be turned in at this guy: Ku'ma <The Bone Collector>. He is located in the cave at the western side of The Isle of Giants. He has all the different repeatable quests, but he doesn't seem to do anything besides that.

I did this as a group and we were able to farm up 3 people's 9999 in 3 days.

We did tank, healer, dps. We ran along the beach gathering the groups of 2 big direhorns and 3-4 smaller direhorns together and aoeing them down. While killing a primal devilsaur in a group of 3 is easy we found the tank vengeance and the multidotting from our moonkin brought our dps up across the board allowing for more efficiency. There are 5 groups of direhorns going west to east: White (Stephanie), Blue (Charlie), Tan (Rupert), Green (Dave), and Red (Stephen).

When you farm dinosaur bones you succumb to dino madness. We were naming the dinosaurs, talking dinosaur philosophy, killing dinosaurs on rocks so when they died they stuck straight up in the air. You name it.

Using this we were able to average around 10 bones a minute each. Keeping the bone distribution pretty even compared to some people getting the lucky 40 bone loot from Primal Devilsaurs and other people getting the crumby 13 bone loot from the baby devilsaurs. Assuming you can do it at this pace you're in for a 17 hour farm fest. I personally was the first one done and got my bone-white raptor before my 原始恐龙蛋 hatched.

this one took approximately 24 hours of grinding those Pterrorwings. As enhance shaman, they were challenging but with the tools we have, they did go down in about 1-1½ mins.

I suggest having Stone bulwark,Earthgrab totem, Ancestral Guidance, Feral Spirit-glyph, Healing Storm-glyph and FET-glyph.
Only use Earth Elemental or Earthgrab if you are in danger of dying. I mainly used Maelstroms to heal while using cds once ready. It is also possible to pop everything (Asc, FET, Wolves, Stormlash & Lust) to burn one Pterrorwing before FET ends.
If you choose Unleash Fury, dont bother with using Rockbiter, It doesn't do much.

The mobs melee for quite a lot, at lowest I saw around 25k hits, with crits taking around 70-120k or your health so dont be afraid to pop those Earth totems if one hits you 3 times in a row for 100k. Yes, that can happen and it will! Their Cone attack also is quite devastating, 200k-300k but you can easily strafe towards either side. You can also go "under its wing" to avoid the Cone hit.
I also found it VERY good to bind Healing Surge to something you can press easily.

Useful abilities:
Capacitor, Earthgrab, Call of elements, Shammy rage & Stone Bulwark for OH NO situations, Ancestral Guidance, Heal Stream totem, CDs.

Also, do NOT pull more than once.

As a hunter, I almost always solo'd my farms. Occasionally I had friends help me and let me loot all the bones, but most of it was solo work. It took me an entire week to get them all. While soloing I mostly went around killing the young direhorns and young devilsaurs, but sometimes I'd kite an adult direhorn. Adult direhorns are extremely easy to kite because the have a dead zone where they can't melee you or charge at you. Once you find that dead zone, the only thing you have to worry about are other dinosaurs in the area. They're not that fast to begin with, but of course keeping up concussive shot makes it easier.

Alright, I'm done being the "Negative nancy" towards Blizzard. Yes, this is going to be a pain to grind, especially with a lot of people in your group (if so), but this about in the next expansion when EVERYONE has 1million health? This will be a cake walk. I think they planned this, because I'm not planning on farming 迷时始祖幼龙的缰绳, or 磷光石幼龙缰绳, because I can wait there for a month and never see it, at all... Now with this (though it's a ground mount), it's an accurate steady climb to 10k...

With reasonable gear you should be able to farm around 500 bones per hour provided there's not too many people around (if there is, I found it better to just try again later). This means farming this achievement will take around 20 hours.

If you want to mount and break that down into smaller chunks it becomes more manageable.

If you have a Frost Mage, you can solo 原始恐角龙 pretty easily for the bones. Today I found out that 寒冰箭 does affect the movement speed of the dino. So just keep 3 stacks at all times, and kite him around. When he casts 三角冲锋 just Blink to the right or left just before his horny heads gets you and you won't get hit. After a few kills you'll get the hang of it and you probably won't take any damage. I also suggest you use combined with 活动炸弹 or 虚空风暴. I usually take around 2 minutes to kill him, with 489 iLvl, food and flask. If you are a Tier 15 geared mage, this will be a walk in the park :)

i'm breaking this achi down to grinding half a stack per day. I have a tank friend, me the healer, and then pug with two DPS. I prefer at least one ranged DPS because there are naturally sometimes when the tank can't pull everything, but it doesn't really matter. I provide flasks for everyone, and then off we go farming. One hour on flasks will generally grant us two rounds through Isle of Giants, killing Direhorns+Devilsaurs+Terrorwings.
Loot will probably be 400+ bones per person, 2~3 Stunted Direhorn pet drops, and 1~2 Primal Egg drops, which means everyone will probably get something(not just bones), and maybe an incentive to keep coming back.

P.S. I've found that for tankers especially, farming here is good practice for preparing Horridon&Oondasta. Direhorns have the same attack pattern as Horridon, and Devilsaurs resemble Oondasta in attacks. If you wanna try out Horridon on a less stressful level or need practice, come to Isle of Giants and farm some bones and pets.

If you want this and the other 3 primal mounts, I recommend you to farm until a 原始恐龙蛋 drops, leave and come back 3 days later when it hatches. This makes it less of a pain to farm and by the time you reach 9999 bones you have probably gotten all the other mounts.

In my time farming this I have had 7 Primal Eggs and hatched them all. I got 5 Black, 2 Red, 0 Green. RNG obviously likes Black. On my last egg I held a Black and Red in my bags, in case that would force it to Green... no such luck.

I used the in-game stopwatch to see how much time it takes to farm 999 bones, well it took exactly one hour to farm them by killing only the primal direhorns, their babies and some dinomancers. I was doing this solo as a 545ilvl survival hunter.

Right now with 567 gear it took me exactly 40 minutes to get one stack of bones (BM hunter)
That was around 7 hours of pure farming.

568 BM Hunter:

I waited to get some decent gear before attempting to go after mass amounts of these things. I figured if I was going to get roughly 11,000 of them, I didn't want to try it at lower ilvl and I didn't want to waste time sharing the bones with others. Yah, I'm selfish I guess.

Anyways, preparation. Flask of Spring Blossoms for 1000 agility, Sea Mist Noodles for another 300 agility. For a pet I used a Spirit beast for the healing and mastery buff. Glyphs: Glyph of Spirit Bond and Glyph of Mending because both of these maximize the overall healing you'll have for your pet, and Glyph of Misdirection in order to continually cast misdirection on the pet as often as I could.

I also macro'ed the Spirit Mend and Mend Pet into one button, to cast quickly during battles, and macroed Spirit mend to myself separately for when misdirection fails (which it does, a lot, as all hunters know, in Panda land).

I stayed exclusively on the Primal Direhorn and Primal Direhorn Hatchlings. The larger Direhorns averaged 20 bones and the hatchlings 8. I'd save most of my big dps for the big Direhorns obviously. Cast misdirection repeatedly if you need to, stay out of range of the melee tail whip and other stuff the big guy does, they will wipe you out fast, and being ranged, you shouldn't stay in close anyway. He'll charge at you, don't worry too much about that, it's a low dps hit, 100K roughly. You'll need to hit the macro for spirit mend and mend pet at least once to keep your pet alive. If your pet does die, cast deterrence and revive pet quickly, misdirection, if that doesn't get him off of you, feign death.

When your big dps is on cd, kill the small direhorns, they are a piece of cake. Just watch yourself if you are kiting, don't pull too many of them together. The little ones aren't so bad but the big ones, two or more can get really dicey.

Along with the bones I got quite a few decent greens, along with more than 20 direhorn runt pets. Also got a few of the egg mount drops, but unfortunately you can only carry one at a time because it is a unique item. I had to leave about 6 of them behind, sadness :(

Overall I averaged about 1,000 bones every 45 minutes. So in a day, if you are tenacious and enjoy monotonous boredom killing about 800 or so Direhorns, you can probably get this done and have both your mount and your pet. I think this achievement is prime for ranged classes with a pet. You can stay out of melee and direct all attention on your pet while healing him and range dpsing them down.

576 sv hunter, averaged just over 2k bones per hour. glyphs: md, animal bond, mending. used spirit bond and blink strikes. used a turtle spec'd ferocity for everything except the giant t-rex's, where i spec'd it into tenacity for the extra survivability. obviously over-geared for the isle of giants at this point, but it was worth the wait. slimmed the grind down by over half the time.

Did this on my Desto lock casually an hour a day and got my mount. Like most people I took out the 原始恐角龙 big and small, dropped countless 矮化恐角龙 and dropped 5 原始恐龙蛋 getting two green, two black and still waiting to see what the 5th one will have. All in all if you have just an hour spare a day you can easily have this done in a just under a fortnight, put your headphones on, listen to whatever it is you like and grind for an hour.

I love to collect mounts, especially ones that come with achievements. At first I was not too overly bothered with grinding these bones and getting the mount, but as I started grinding for Primal Eggs I found that I was getting plenty of bones whilst doing so, it was then that I decided to just go for it.

However the thought of grinding 9999 bones was off putting, so I decided to go there once every three days and grind until a Primal Egg dropped, then once it had cracked - go back and repeat. I did this for about 4 days for around 1-2 hours each time. 565 Ret Paladin and 550 Beast Mastery Hunter - easily killing all mobs!

In the end I got my 9999 bones as well as 2 primal raptors (Black and Green) - so all in all, was pretty impressed with getting three mounts :)

Love the mount and achievement. Its a feat of strength, so well worth the time!

Got it today, i strongly recommended go for the Devilsaurs swarm as decent geard tank counter clock wise. Each pack grants 100-144~ bones each for 5 'nests' that spawns at the time you kill the last of the cycle one.
Start north east of the troll camp (orange Devilsaurs close to the Troll ship)->go north to the black ones->inner island for couple of red stripes->go west up the hill for orange-> down south east for the red. Skip all Direhorns and start again.

Just turned it in, had no difficulty as described below, i farmed the isle ( with competition) for like 3 hours straight, just making rounds, killed everything in my path as a frostmage, but gear was tuned to arcane, just switched talents.
i had to begin with 2k bones, which were parked on my bank, so i'd guess for a full farm you'd need 30-45 minutes depending on competition more to get a full 10k bone farm.

items of worth :

12x zandalari pets foot/knee/ankle/toe slasher/biter/nibbler whatever
3x direhorn runt pet

- some greens and mats, all vendor'd off to maintain enough bagspace for the bones, think in that timespan i got like 250-300g worth of stuff.

- oondasta was pulled once while i was close and manage to get a shot in before going down, too bad not the mount, so that will mean i'll need to return to the isle to get that one

Proud owner of this achievement since 31/03/2014.

I have farmed every single bone myself and pretty fast. It only took me 1-2 days, but with hours of farming straight.

I dislike that Blizzard made the bones tradeable a while ago. Ruins the feeling of achievement. Now people can just buy the bones and they are done.

EDIT; I really wonder why someone disliked my post. It's just ridiculous that many things are given away so easily these days.

Farmed this from scratch last night. Took about 4 hours and was totally worth it. Compared to the emperor shahao grind this was nothing. As long as you have no competition this grind is easy. Just have empty bags of course cause you'll be filling them with dino bones.

This is a recap of my experience farming for the Bone White Primal Raptor during BFA 8.3

120 Ele Shaman - every mob is a one shot with frost shock.
The larger the mob, the more bones it drops. Big T-rex's drop the most, sometimes 40 bones.
Put a macro on your bars to keep a counter of how many bones you have:

Started 10:45 with one other person on island. For the most part we stayed away from each other's farming paths. The island is just barely big enough for 2 people to be on it without interfering too much with each other.
I ignored the flying Pterrorwings for the most part, too much work to chase.
You can one shot Oondasta, who drops about 20 bones.
Bone #840 - got my first Primal Egg
Bone #6300 - got my second Primal Egg, but couldn't carry it (unique)
After getting my 2nd egg to drop but couldn't pick it up; it occured to me I should have split farming to a second and third toon, etc...after getting each egg. That way I can carry an additional egg on my account, but still mail all the bones to a single toon (since the bones are no longer account bound).
Switched to a second toon to start the farm again, got another egg immediately.
Switched to a third toon, got another egg after 1100 bones. I didn't feel like switching toons again but I got an additional egg drop at roughly 2500 and 3600 on my third toon.

All told I hit 9999 (across three toons) after 3 hours of farming.
This time includes swapping toons and flying them out there, and a little bit of down time for a snack.
Pretty leisurly. I was lucky in that I did not face any PvP.

Don't be intimated by the number of bones you have to collect. Each dino drops 8-10, some of the big ones drop 20-40. Finished this with my druid in 1.5 hours with very casual farming and some competition on the island. You also get a few pets from the dinos as well. You can also simply buy the bones off the auction house, but I wanted to farm other things on the island as well.
