Spell is called New Moon . This book turns you into a Giant White Wolf.

When crafting this book with Inscription you have a chance to get one of 4 books:

Grey
Black
Red ...and of course
White

The "New moon buff" has a 2 min durotation. If you remove the item from your offhand, the buff will go off.

When wearing the wolf costume, you can do nearly anything you could do as a normal person without it 'falling off'.

In addition, the /dance command makes it do the Ghost Wolf dance (Snoopy-hop), and it even has its own eating animation (albeit a very bland one where the wolf sits down and moves its head). I'm guessing any other animations that the Ghost Wolf has is also shared by this buff.

Is it just me or the actual white wolf is ghostly?
May it be a bug? As I see that it shouldn't be so from the screenshots posted on Wowhead.

I made a list of gimmick items which you can use to transform your character into a different form or race or even gender to play around with. I didn't add items like weapons that provide a procc with a transform effect that only lasts a few seconds even though I know about them. My intention was to list all items with controlable transformations. Feel free to let me know if I missed an item!

I actually do that. Except instead of the pup, I use Don Carlos' Famous Hat (because he's bigger). Sadly the coyote cancels any companion pets though. However, I can (and do) use my 狗哨 as well. Even though it's not another wolf, it's definitely enough to make people ask questions during raid downtime.

I've no idea why that other item isn't linking properly. At least it shows on mouseover.

Wowhead currently lists five separate items that can be crafted using the Inscription recipe Rituals of the New Moon, which appears to randomly return one of:

Rituals of the New Moon (item 45850) - "giant RED wolf"
Rituals of the New Moon (item 45851) - "giant WHITE wolf"
Rituals of the New Moon (item 45852) - "giant GREY wolf"
Rituals of the New Moon (item 45853) - "giant BLACK wolf"
Rituals of the New Moon (item 45854) - "giant wolf" (unobtainable?)

I can personally attest that the first four "colored" varieties are obtainable on live servers via the recipe, with roughly equal probability.

However, it's unclear whether the fifth "uncolored" variety Rituals of the New Moon (item 45854) is available in game. I've crafted several dozen of the recipe and never seen the uncolored variety, which makes me think it's either very rare or is a "dummy" item used to implement the colored varieties and that the uncolored variety is not really obtainable. HOWEVER, the uncolored variety DOES appear in the Beta toy box as of build 6.0.1-18482 (alongside the four colored varieties), so either that's a mistake or this really is obtainable.

Can anyone confirm they have obtained the "uncolored" Rituals of the New Moon (item 45854)? Preferably include a screenshot...

Unlike other off-hand items, this one does not show on my character, nor in the dressing room window. A bug? Disappointing considering its worth (cost on AH, resp. value as really cool gadget). Does it show for anyone?
