This set is used multiple times in Silithus in order to summon various elite elementals from the stones in the camps of the Twilight Cultists. You need to wear all three pieces before using one of the stones. This will summon the elemental.

However, the elemental will not aggro immediately upon summoning, so that should give you a few moments to put your regular armor back on before the actual battle.

Twilight Cultist sets are used to summon Twilight Members from the Wind Stones around Silithus.

1 Set is required to summon from a Lesser Wind Stone.
Soloable

4 Sets are required to summon from a regular Wind Stone
(A: which is 3 Abyssal crests + 1 Set for the summon)
5Man

13 Sets are required to summon from a Greater Wind Stone
(which is A x3 = 3x Abyssal Signet + 1 Set for the summon)
20man+

All mobs will despawn if your party dies and waste your mats, so make sure you have a decent group.

Although you will need some Large Brilliant Shards for Other Mats like the Twilight Cultist Medallion and Twilight ring of Lordship which are used for the regular and Greater WindStones.

Overall its alot of grinding/mats/effort to put into it, but its well worth it imo.

This doesn't do anything noticeable, and I doubt many people really bother with this any longer, although it is not BoE, so you can use and resell.

Guess BC killed Silithus' usefull.

Looks cool regardless, and is perfect for a gag set, if you perfer to socialize in Stormwind, or Orgrimmar.

I would live for Blizzard to add some stats to these armor pieces, one of the coolest looking cloth sets in the game, it's a shame they arent useful at all

For those of you having problems getting a specific piece of this set:

This does seem to change though, Twilight post used to have a higher drop rate on Mantles.
For example, i farmed each place an hour and got this:

Twilight Base Camp
8 Mantles
1 Cowl
3 Robes

Can't be just a coincidence...
EDIT: Place names mixed up, and the southwest camp does have a name.

It would seem that not all the set is now destroyed when it is used. The Cowl is nearly always lost, the shoulders sometimes and the robe rarely. Does anyone know when this changed?

The quests associated with the Twilight Trappings appear to have been removed from the game.

They probably removed it because nobody wants to grind for level 60 purples and blues when they can just move on to Outlands, Northrend, and Catclysm and pick up green drops with far better stats. You must remember that these quests were put in in vanilla, when Silithis was endgame and 60 was cap level.

Does this armor have any kind of cool animation coming off of it? Blue smoke or something?
The comment seems to suggest that, and I remember seeing a mage with some cool armor, once upon a time, that she said she got as drops. The screen shots don't seem to indicate that it does. I tried this on my Hunter Dwarf and nada, but then he is mail / leather specified of course. I sent a copy to my warlock alt that he can grow into.
Be interesting if the comment actually was true. ;)

I was hoping that it did have a cool animation, since someday with Transmorg, it might actually be useful to save low level cool armor to appearance buff later mixed sets for a better look.

NOTE FOR THOSE DO NOT READ THE ABOVE GOOD POSTS: These linked items/spells/usage are no longer valid for quests post-Cataclysm. It is supposedly safe to disenchant, sell, or toss the required items (per two different in-game GMs, though a third did say maybe there will be use for them but he wasn't certain AT ALL of this).

They were originally used specifically for the various Silithus quest chains to create various elemental scepters/crests/signets, which had required these randomly annoying drop items (暮光信徒披肩, 暮光信徒长袍, and 暮光信徒兜帽) along with the 暮光信徒身份勋章/暮光贵族之戒 to summon various quest-only elemental Templar/lords (no longer in the game or this site), often leading to another summoning quest or chain elsewhere. The main quest items stemming from dropped 被破译的《真正的信徒》剪报.

The entire set of Silithus quest chains were all broken when Blizzard rushed the development of the Cataclysm expansion without deciding on how to renovate the Silithus zone to match changes in Cata (hence many of the basic quests here are still from pre-WotLK coding), to include the 安其拉. Instead they focused on the new story lines in the graphically-sweet Cata zones and how to change the raid system cross-server.

*edit to add that as of patch 4.3 these items are STILL no longer valid for quest chains. They do sometimes still randomly drop from NPCs or are in players' banks, but aside from looks or collecting are useless compared to similar level quest gear since Cata. Not a reason to downvote extremely valid information though.

I just picked up a complete set, hoping to use it for transmog purposes. Sadly, this set can't be used. Lesson learned I suppose.

I found that if you wear the 3 piece set, you can touch the windstones without getting struck by lightning. There is probly other uses for them as well. Twilight Mobs still aggro you when you have all the clothes on tho.....

Though I hope most of you have figured this out by now, but these are used for summoning the elemental mini-bosses. As you get farther up in the quest chain, you get better chances of loot. Some very nice items drop from these guys, so don't look at these items for stats. Those don't matter, whatsoever. The items are destroyed once you summon one of the mini-bosses. If you have your inventory open, you have enough time to put your regular gear on, if you are quick. Level 60, take a friend, lower than that, you may want two.

alrighty then, these mini bosses... templars are soloable 60 leets, get the 3 piece set, which drop of reg mobs and click the lesser wind stone for it, small chance of getting essences/blues but mostly they drop the crests, 3 of those babies and large brill and u have ureself a medalion of stn. use that and another suit, and uve got a duke if u use the wind stone, those are 4 manable... but u might want more. after that uve got the blue version of the crests that drop, 100g later and some more duke summons and get ure guild and hit up about 20-35 guys and go summon a royal, get the prince (fire guy) and enjoy the elemental focus band. the other guys drop some nice epics too, but nothing so fancy u cant go play in a high lvl 40 to replace. if u get a sceptor u get to choose which royal u fight, this is fun, cause nobody wants to spend 100g on a summon that didnt get u ure shiny purple. ciao

for the templars... as far as a pic goes... its pretty easy... go to ungoro... find a fire elemental... fire one looks like that... water elemental... looks like the water one... wind... guess what? yeah looks just like a wind one... and earth? well yeah he looks like a guy from that video game on super nintendo... ballz... but rocky. oh and gl with the wind guy if ure gonna solo him... take some nature res... the lightning... its everywhere lol

omg do you guys even know what this set is for? the twilights uses this to summon their "gods" from their camps .. if you get these set you can trick the gods so they think your a twilight and you'll summon the gods from the windstones in silithus

Realy great set for RP..with a stylish black shirt, black magewave boots and thick cloth belt+gloves...then there is also Venomspitter and Smolderweb hatchling non-combat pet..realy great!

I am a 60 hunter and i have put the whole set on and tried to touch the lesser wind stone. I still get struck by lightning. I have also logged off with the set on and logged back on and tried it but it is still not working. Is there a quest that i need to do first or what? help me please

I've been farming CC Rep in Silithus for a few hours now, and I have got 9 Mantle drops, and 7 Cowl drops, along with 52 text drops, but no Robe yet. Anyone else having this problem?

I was having a quick flick at the cloth one time at the auction house i bought them all for like 10 silver altogether!. Now i just monkey around in it when i do roleplay and suits my warlock well. ah endless fun. :P

My dad was doing his herbalism and started killing the twilight ppl and he got the robe then the mantle then the cowl............... where do i summon the bosses and does the gear get destroyed when i summon a boss?

Here is how the summons at Silithus windstones work:

The summon has 2 properties: A) Difficulty and B) Elemental Type.

A) Windstone type dictates difficulty of the summon (easy to hard: Templar => Duke => Royal).

You need a full 暮光套装 set to summon a templar at a lesser windstone.
You need a full 暮光套装 set + 暮光信徒身份勋章 to summon a duke at a windstone.
You need a full 暮光套装 set + 暮光信徒身份勋章 + 暮光贵族之戒 to summon a royal at a greater windstone.

B) Crest/Signet/Scepter remove randomness of elemental type of the summon (Air, Earth, Fire, Water). Type of element after crest/signet/scepter controls elemental type of the summon. Without crest/signet/scepter, elemental type of the summon will be random.

Type of item is linked to difficulty level of the summon.

Crest controls => Summon Templar from a lesser windstone in Silithus
Signet controls => Summon Duke from a windstone in Silithus
Scepter controls => Summon Royal from a greater windstone in Silithus

Here is the list of all possible summons and items needed to summon:

TEMPLARS (recommended: 2 man)
Full 暮光套装 set at lesser windstone = Random templar
Full 暮光套装 set along with 召唤纹章：雷 at lesser windstone = 苍白圣殿骑士
Full 暮光套装 set along with 召唤纹章：石 at lesser windstone = 土色圣殿骑士
Full 暮光套装 set along with 召唤纹章：火 at lesser windstone = 赤红圣殿骑士
Full 暮光套装 set along with 召唤纹章：水 at lesser windstone = 碧蓝圣殿骑士

DUKES (recommended: 5 man)
Full 暮光套装 set + 暮光信徒身份勋章 at windstone = Random duke
Full 暮光套装 set + 暮光信徒身份勋章 along with 召唤徽记：雷 at windstone = 微风公爵
Full 暮光套装 set + 暮光信徒身份勋章 along with 召唤徽记：石 at windstone = 碎石公爵
Full 暮光套装 set + 暮光信徒身份勋章 along with 召唤徽记：火 at windstone = 灰烬公爵

Remember that you lose the summoning materials if you fail to kill the summon.

This set disappears once you have summoned the elemental, so it is advisable not to get rid of any surplus pieces until you are done it Silithus.
