The only use I can see for this trinket is for a reflect damage paladin, stacking nagle ring, force reactive disk, thorium shield spike, ret aura, blessing of sanc, and this trinket, there are more items out there but I can't remember at the top of my head. Oh and spamming holy shield.

Would this even work for paladin reactive damage? When struck in combat inflicts 13 Fire damage to the attacker.

It says "when struck", not when "hit" or "blocked" like most other reflective damage things do.

Does this mean you have to be fully hit to get the effect to work? Because when I aoe stuff I'm blocking, dodging, or parrying 90something% of attacks.

edit: I guess it would work like ret aura, so that if you block 100% of the damage it doesn't work, but partial blocks still proc it.... not sure about parries still though.

I have this, no +spell effect, +fire, +damage, etc works with it. I figured I'd come read the comments and to my delight I get to swat down everybody's hopes :P

I think for most people it'd be easier to level a druid to 40 and /follow on your main char with thorns going~

As a warlock. I have improved imp increasing his fire sheild to do 16 points of damage per hit, Include this trinkit and on hit they take 29 damage instead. Im not sure if Firestone bumps this and if Curse of Elements works with it either. This type of item isnt intended as a major damage dealer but for A bit of extra damage moving into mellee combat after you have blasted the majority of their health away or annoying after spawns like the zombies do in the plaigue Lands. I look at all typs of stuff in the game and alot of stuff doesnt work for me or is designed for something specific, Just cause it doesnt work for your Character Doesnt mean its worth less. also Its its ability is static, no activate no cooldown. If you want a trinket that deals more damage you should look at Heart of the Scale.

I love dmg returns, as a pro spec pala I love duo grinding mobs with a druid. This way i can just stand in a pit of about 20 mobs using retri aura, thorns, a throium spike, holy sheild from time to time, fire sheild (ok so its from a lock but stil >:)and heart of the scale for another +20dmg returned on hit for 5 mins.
This would stack nicely, just need that engineering sheild now which does aoe dmg on block and I'm set :)
My plan is to be able to beat rogues without actually hitting them with any weapons xD

When I got this item. People thought "WTF..." Hell, it cost me 1 DKP, I figured why not? Anywhom, I went to ZG and once we approached the Panther boss, I was an OT In the cage, so I'm sitting there. Spamming Demo shout, Drillborer equipped, this equipped, + the pally aura *Can't remember the name* and a thorns buff on me. Panther adds ended up killing themselves half the time.

Another reason why I'm happy I took this item is that even when I'm tanking, the return damage I can do to certain mobs is pretty damn good, especially with just thorns and Drillborer equipped.

Quick question though, does anyone know if returned damage actually = more threat? One thing I've been wondering for a while =/

Fire damage is great for tanking in MC...

An additional 26 dps vs a rogue is a non-issue. If you are getting hit twice a second for about 100-150 damage (not counting special attacks), then they are doing 200-300 dps. Sinister strike can crit for over 1000. Just think about it a little harder.

This isn't PURE crap. It does help quite a bit in the panther boss fight for offtanks to generate aggro, but that's about all I guess. Probably 90% crap. If you base your PVP strategy on reflect damage you seriously need to l2p kthxbye.

The only thing that's worthless is the retards who say this thing is worthless. 13 damage per hit is godly. Combine with thorns, retribution aura, and the choker, and you can practically kill a rogue without lifting a finger. Who would want to attack you THEN?

Have you seen what type of agro Thorns maintains? I'm one of them black-sheep Druid Tanks - @ Dragonmaw server.

Thorns gives me about as much sustained agro as hitting the mob over and over - against, say, ten 1.5 second-hit mobs, this not only does about 87 DPS, but it can hold the welps in Onyxia's lair for about 3 AoE's. Get your Paladin/Warrior with Thorns on and get him to consecrate/AoE-Taunt in the middle of the welps - after 2-3 flashes of this 13 Fire Damage your Mages won't get hit.

I find it amusing that people think this item is crap, I'm a druid and I'd love this, that's 22 damage from thorns, 13 damage from this trinket and 20 damage from heart of scales trinket from the final boss in lbrs, go turtle with tankin gear and laugh at the rogue while he is dying by attacking me, muahaha

I took this today, as in my guild we do a "Random roll" for it, and highest wins, as this had dropped so many times in my guild i knew i would be the only one who wanted it.
As i play paladin, and well we all know paladins are greedy players, and being a dwarf makes me even more greedy.
So i rolled and took this trinket, but the one thing my raid leader said:
"If any one wants this and WILL put it to good use can roll"....
Hmm i took it because i was greedy and it would be something to disenchant if i didn't like it.. So i sat up most of the night thinking what would be the best thing for it... and it came to me.
In 1.8 we had improved Reti Aura (being about 30dmg when we take a hit), so i was thinking about that, as i couldn't sleep i logged online and looked over the talents and couldn't find it, so it's the basic 20 dmg returned the attacker.

So then i was thinking what would be the best way around this, so i had used 1h + shield (aurastone hammer and skullflame shield) and to use reti aura (reason to using shield so i don't loose any armor) and i owned a rogue, he did he's stun lock by the time i came out of it he had already loost over 900hp through attack me.

Now i need to find another trinket/ring/neck which is like this as i have seen this to be one of the best trinkets for druid/paladin the class's which can take the dmg before they deal it out.
Druid, thorns + trinket nice combo, paladin Reti aura + trinket.

well, combine this with his choker, and then the rogue will take 100 fire damage per second :) as the choker clearly states spells AND effects

Imagine how good this would be against a Rogue in PvP. Say they hit about 2 times per second on avg, so that's an additional 13x2 per sec = 26 DPS. Anyone with half a brain would want a passive addition of 26 DPS against a Rogue!

Plus more dmg from MT = more agro, which makes this great for PvE too.

This sounds exactly like my friend, who is a mage and got this off our very first rag kill. However, my friend bid 1.5 runs worth of DKP for this, which is pretty stupid since he's still using a few blues here and there :P

You might think this is complete garbage and most of the time it is. But it has its uses in the game as tank. For example its handy for Fankriss encounter tanks in AQ40.

Or you might use it in diremaul east when imps spawn or other crazy stuff. You usually get it for very cheap price, I'd pick it up for certain encounters.

The effect stacks with druid thorns.
The damage is not reported properly, you can't see it in combat logs (as of May 2020 at least).
Completely useless in raid, but it may still have some occasional use, for example when carrying 5-men dungeons.

This trinket will do a flat 13 firedamage EACH and EVERY time an enemy hits you. The faster they hit you, the more damage they will take. Damage does not stack with elixirs or +spell dmg or +fire dmg gear. Damage wil also not trigger if you are shielded by a priest.
