This quest appears to be bugged as of 9/2/16. Not sure if the bug is due to the world quest being in this location or not, but he drop chance seems affected.

I dropped the quest and picked it up again after I finished the World Quest. This helped IMMENSELY. However, there was still a bug with the amount of pages you collect vs what the count says. If you kill a group and more than one page drops, it will only count as ONE. If you are AOE killing, loot as they die.

The 3 chaos spawn packs seem to be the only things dropping the quest item for me.

8/8 from 13 chaos spawn packs.

0/8 from 30+ other spawns.

I found that the pages also dropped from Eredar Riftweavers — especially the ones standing close together (i.e., in pairs). That's in addition to the chaos spawn packs (imps) folks have already mentioned here.

"Day 6: I still have yet to find the final page. Rations are running low, weapons becoming worn, and the demons are becoming fewer. Not sure if it's because they have learned to avoid the area or if it's because I slaughtered nearly the entire Burning Legion. Aponi, or what I presume is left of her, is all but certainly dead. However, this 19 gold and 40 silver will not acquire itself. So, much like the Death Knights of Acherus, I press on."

I killed around 50 demons to get the 8 pages. I wouldn't recommend killing the imp groups unless you can loot them individually. I finished the quest with 9 pages in my inventory, due to me looting 2 pages and only 1 being tracked. Just have to kill more. Good luck.

When it says use the portal I had no graphics of the portal (possibly from closing it the main quest line earlier). However just run into the main portal area.

Cant find which quest follows after this one. I freed the she-tauren and then nothing happened nobody gave me follow-up quest so I'm stuck now.

Seems like the drop chance has improved, however, the quest is not registering when you receive multiple at the same time, so I currently have 8/8 in bags but its only showing 5/8. 10/10/2016

This is a terrible quest due to the drop rate.

But the absolute WORST part of this quest is that if you find more than 1 page (off of multiple kills) at once it only gives you credit for one. That's because it does a little speech/story line for each page you find and evidentially Blizz didn't make it smart enough to handle finding two pages at once (i.e. saying two speeches in a row).

So just bad design.

So if possible you want to loot one mob at a time.

Seems a good place to farm is on the northern edge of the quest area, near the allied Azurewing Keepers. There's a steady stream of Felguard Invaders rushing them and the added dps helps. Just run back and forth between the guards.

This quest is an absolute nightmare to do as a fresh level 110 Holy Paladin. That whole thing about Blizzard saying that they wanted healers to level in healing specs and be able to quest? They lied.

If you want me to kill all the demons in the area, just tell me to kill all the demons in the area!

Edit: for those of you just starting this, I had to kill every single demon in the area twice. Figure that many kills to get the eight drops.

Loot each mob as you kill them, instead of killing a group and looting all at once. I did this after reading a previous post (and spending 20 minutes and only looting 2 pages). The drop rate seemed to improve greatly, yet it still takes quite a while. Too long, unless there's a good reason.

You have to walk across the Ingress killing mobs and looting Aponi's Journal Pages from demons around.
The only problem is terrible chance to drop. You may spend 10+ minutes to this quest.
I killed all demons within quest area and had to wait until new spawned. After you collect all, pass through the giant portal.

Here is an acount of my experience with this mission.

Time to completion: 18 mins

When I first got to the quest area and started killing demons it took at least 5 kills before I received my first quest item. After each page you get there is an RP pop up at the bottom of the screen. It is not possible to gain anymore pages until the RP has finished and a little internal cool down has completed (around 30 seconds by my testing). Try to focus down single demons or demons with imp pets. This will reduce the time spent on the mission greatly by not wasting potential quest drop enemies. Hope this helps anyone wondering whats going on. (don't be discouraged by the low drop chance posts. The drop rates are good as long as you do it correctly.)

As a prot pally, my usual "farm stuff" technique is to pull a bunch of mobs and AOE them down so I can loot them all at once. The drops on this quest are buggy AF - no matter how many you get from AOE loot, it only counts as one drop, as I found out when I picked up 5 and had it count as 1.

If you're going to AOE pull, focus one mob down at a time and loot as you go. The items do still drop if you have more than 8 in your bags - I ended up with 12 total.

Having done all 12 class campaigns I can call this one as probably the worst class campaign quest in Legion. Quest drops appear to be on a timer and, as another commenter mentioned, if you get several in one AoE loot, it'll only count as 1.

Absolutely terrible quest. As JFK may have said, "not because it is hard, but because it is boring".

Doing the Aponi's Trail paladin order hall quest doesn't work when the world quest is up in the same area. Great. World quest doesn't work either. I had to server hop 6 times with the server hop add on before I found mobs that started dropping the pages.

I f you were a slacker like my Pala in Legion you'll be happy to know that the drop rate has vastly improved so you get the 8 pages in about 5 to ten minutes tops :-)

As of 8/1/2021 the drop rates seem to be working fine for me at least, every 3 kills drops 1 page (for me at least). Good luck and Cheers!

If you're leveling a new Paladin in Shadowlands, it's strange that the minimum level to follow the campain jumps from level 10 to level 45. Finding dungeon groups is hard enough if you're not queuing as tank or healer and now this blocker.

Im now getting a fatal error and my character gets stuck to the point i have to do a ticket to get unstuck, I cannot complete the questline and have sent a ticket to blizz, wish me luck but is anyone else having this issue?

As of 22nd of March (possibly earlier) every time i have tried entering the portal after collecting the pages, the application force quits and i have to recover my character to the nearest graveyard. I raised a ticket and Blizz got back to me saying it is a known issue with no resolution date at this point in time.

It works now! There was an update that you have to do manually just an hour ago.
You are able to clear the quest, but buildings are missing.
