Follow the North bridge on the Thunder Totem Map, you'll come to the cave, kill Enraged Ambershard in that cave and collect Empowered Ambershard Crystal. Cave entrance : 49.83, 54.0

Awful drop rate, especially for how much effort it takes to kill these things as they're damage sponges. However, you can camp out at the entrance and just tag the two that continually spawn to fight the guards. The guards dispatch them in fairly short order, giving you a decent means of farming these enemies down for the shards.

Absolutely! Kill what you can while doing the quests inside, but don't waste your time. Go outside and you will get them within a couple of minutes (Fast spawn).

There's a south bridge, cross it and you'll see an entrance to a cave at 49.2 54.8 spot, where Enraged Ambershard spawn, you can slay them here and loot Empowered Ambershard Crystal or proceed deeper in the cave, there are also mobs spawn.

Best spot to farm these are at 48, 55 with 2 mobs that spawn roughly every 40 seconds. Be careful when you attack them due to their knockback attack which might launch you off the cliff down to the river, best to attack them closer to the wall or uphill.

Before Guron gives the quest, you have to have done "ringing true" (endquest) from the enchanting trainer. Its basically the start serie for your enchanting.

After that first serie (which teaches you some ring enchants), you get "thunder struck" quest, which sends you to Guron.

Defeat Enraged Ambershards and collect
8 of their Ambershard Crystals. Bring them back to Guron in Thunder Totem.

Description

There are many types of spirits in this world, <name>. Some benevolent, some troubled.

They all resonate with different reagents which we use to enchant our armor. One such reagent are the crystals of the ambershards.

They are a violent creature born of the earth and have recently been disturbed by the drogbar. However, disturbed or not, the crystals they bear are of great use to my people for enchantments. Bring me some and I'll show you what I mean.
