If you lose him, as I did when the murlocs attacked and he ran off down towards the pirate cove, just go back to the Crumbled Palace. He will be waiting there again and you can use the dialog option to restart the escort. No need to abandon the quest.

Oh, that's okay, Prince Farondis, you go ahead and teleport in the opposite direction you were just traveling then have a hissy fit wondering where I'm at. It's okay, you're royalty...

It's easy to lose Prince Farondis as he's so.... wispy. He tends to run backwards sometimes when attacked. I recommend putting a raid marker on him -- target him, right click, 'Target Marker Icon'.

I am the new Conjuror of the Tirisgarde, before which I was the Commander of the Lunarfall garrison on Draenor.

When I accepted this quest, I thought Prince Farondis is but another helpless NPC that would be slaughtered ten steps out of his puny room without me.

Ten steps out of his puny room, we encountered some Murlocs. I hopped off my mount, in shiny (cloth) armor, artifact in my hands, ready to save his sorry @$$, when he summoned this volley of fiery meteors and utterly eradicated the fish-gnomes.

I was like "Wow, looks like it does take some combat skill to be a Prince!"

We moved along for a while, and there is this ditch in front of us, filled with water. I simply ran though, the hooves of my mount splashed water everywhere, then I turned around to check the Prince.

He stopped at the ditch, and then he Blinked to the other side.

Not a single drop of water on his delicate garment and elven boots.

At that moment, I realized one fact. I might be a Commander, a Conjurer, Hellscream's Downfall and Defiler's End, but deep down, I was still a filthy, vulgar peasant adventurer that had zero clue whatsoever to formality.

I would never ever be as noble as this Prince.

Unlike most other escort type quests, the Prince will not continue going along without you if you stop for whatever reason. He seems to usually help you fight if you're ambushed along the way (The Prince whoops butt big time leaving you little to do to help) If you happen to lose the Prince during the escort quest, he will stop moving (while still in visual range) and verbally call out after you so you can easily locate him. (He will also have a chat bubble over his head) He will say such things as "I cannot do this on my own, stay with me" (He also has a ghost-like glow about him)

Seriously Farondis, the hell do you need ME for? You could probably hurl a fireball at Queen Azshara's face and emerge entirely unscathed!

You have to escort Prince Farondis to 51.8 44.2 point, there are Ruins of Nar'thalas area. Dont run far away from Farondis, he will stand still and do nothing until you got back. There will be a fight on your way, see how Farondis annihilates his emenies. I have no idea, why he asked to escort him, he's just a death machine and needs no any help.

*Weird Bug Report*

So I failed this escort twice, and upon making COMPLETELY sure he didnt go an inch away during my 3rd escort, I noticed there was an afk Ally on top of his general at the end location. After killing the afk player the quest completed normally.

I encountered a bug in this quest: When we meet the murlocs that start hurling spears, Farondis runs back to where the Naga encounter happened. If the murlocs follow (him or you, doesn't matter) he kills them and then disappears, resetting back to the Crumbling Palace. If you kill the murlocs at the original location they spawn, he still runs back and resets.

Got a bug today, I tried to escort the prince but he suddenly disappeared after I killed the murlocs. Went back (he's at the starting place of the quest), this time I let him handle the murlocs on his own. He first ran away from them (almost all the way back) but I think the Murlocs started attacking him (instead of me), prompting him to fight back. After killing the murlocs, the quest proceeded normally.
