If you happen to walk out of the place like i accidentally did don't turn around and run back.
You will end up in the instance instead of where you should be.

At the bottom of the stairs to the left of the temple you'll find an NPC called Elder Sage Wind-Yi.
Speak to her, she'll give you the option to go to the temple.
And port you right back to where you should be.

The Playful Emerald Serpent is located in the main entrance after you zone into the main temple not the actual instances

The Crimson and or the Azure Playful Serpents are up and around the various bends one from the terrace of the Green Dragon and the other location is on the other side of the temple up the curving arch found

The gold Serpent is located in the far back behind the quest givers

The four snakes - young wind serpents, really - are adorable. As you run/ride around, the ones you have found will occasionally emote cute stuff, such as:

Playful Crimson Serpent nips at you experimentally.
Playful Crimson Serpent licks you.
Playful Emerald Serpent wants to play a game!
Playful Emerald Serpent sniffs you.
Playful Emerald Serpent tries to eat your hair, and then spits it out. Yuck!
Playful Gold Serpent does a fancy flip.

...and so on.

They seem to have different spawn points--people here have listed a couple different sets of locations, and I found my serpents at a combination of them.

Fei's instructions are a little misleading--she says to look for them in the open, and sometimes (my gold, for instance) they're in the Scrollkeeper's Sanctum instead.

(Also, for some reason, the azure serpent didn't wanna be my minion like the others. *shrug*)

I'd hearthed and logged for the night after accepting this quest.. I wasted over an hour trying to find them and lol even tried going into the instance. I don't see it noted here but in "Lightheaded" Sheals wrote "If you leave the place" ... "At the bottom of the stairs to the temple there is an NPC called Elder Sage Wind-Yi, speak to her and she has the option to port you to where you need to be"

Well darn.. wish I'd seen that a LOT sooner! Anyways; hopes this helps other lost souls like me ;)

Interestingly, the Playful Gold Serpent sometimes emotes "Playful Gold Serpent wants to be petted." Sure enough, if you /pet him, a heart will appear over his head for a few seconds. This doesn't happen if you /pet the others.

I found the Azure one at the Fountain of the Everseeing in the upper corner at the end of the ramp leading up to the fountain with a circle of meditating Pandaren around it.

I can't find this quest/NPC. Inside or outside the temple instance.

Several people have asked: "How to reach "THE JADE SERPENT" quest?"

To reach "THE JADE SERPENT" quest, you got yo do approximatively 42 quests. Unfortunately yes! I explain:

It start with these two:
Optional breadcrumb: Alliance: In Search of Wisdom / Horde: Dawn's Blossom
And: Welcome to Dawn's Blossom

Then, when you done "Welcome to Dawn's Blossom", there is 14 quests before "THE JADE SERPENT" (and 3 more if I calculate the optional quests)

But, you may ask: "Mystterious, how to reach "In Search of Wisdom" quest?"

Well,

Elder Lusshan <Waterspeaker> give you that quest.

2 quests lead up to this guy:

Q1- Carp Diem
and
Q2- Let them burn

"Let them burn" gives you a little orange fish pet in a bubble, named "Fishy".

Now, to illustrate, let's reach the quest "Let them burn", with the pet "Fishy":

I have the pet "Fishy" in my pets Journal. I did the quest "Let them burn" few weeks after MoP was realized. To reach that quest, I started at the very beginning, with the 3 or 4 quests that lead to Jade Forest. They are on a flying boat for Alliance, near Paw'Down Village. In one of these quests, they asks you to use a parachute to go down on the ground of Jade Forest, do you remember? Once there, after 20-25 quests, I went to "Let them burn" where I had my Fishy.

So, total of quests before "THE JADE SERPENT"? 39 to 45, +3 the optional quests I mentioned, if they are necessary.

It's very long even for a level 100.

Conclusion: If you want the reward item from the quest "THE JADE SERPENT", ask yourself: Does it REALLY worth a try?

Description

Have you seen the young serpents in the training yard?

The littles ones tend to be mischievous, and some of them ran off to play before the training session.

The Mistress will get angry if she discovers they're missing.

Would you go find them and bring them back to me? I don't want them to get into trouble.

They like to play out in the open, so look for them in courtyards and around the spires.
