I feel a bit weird doing this quest. Are we the Forsaken that embittered/desperate that we need to stoop to Arthas' level to bolster our ranks?

I understood it to be thus: the forsaken ARE dead, and thus cannot create new life(no progeny) It Is Sylvanas' only way to bolster not only her ranks, but now her own unique culture, granted is is a very grim one. She also did not make slaves of the forsaken-they choose to serve and worship her for a second chance at something resembling life. As the newly risen are not slaves, if they chose to forgo undeath, i belive they have that choice.

So it appears that when you go out of the designated questing area, the Val'kyr disappears, but you keep the buff.

Too bad. Having a pet Val'kyr would have been awesome.

The only thing I hate about this quest is that you don't have enough time to loot the corpse before the Val'kyr changes the dead Alliance Laborer's corpse into an undead. I even had auto loot on and still couldn't target a corpse and my character got stuck in an awkward position after trying to loot a corpse.

What I don't get about this quest isn't why we would want new undead to join the ranks of the Forsaken, but what could possibly possess these guys you *just murdered* to want to join you.

It seems pretty clear from other quests throughout the game that the undead retain their memories of the past. Wouldn't they at least want to stick around to care for their families or friends? At the very least, wouldn't they want to get as far away from the monsters who stole their lives from them as possible?

Description

Derrington and his men don't know it, but it was I who ordered the plaguing of Felstone Field. We need this area for practice. If we're to win this war for Andorhal, we need to use our newest, most versatile weapon:

Val'kyr.

Take my enthralled val'kyr with you, <name>, and kill the simpering Alliance scum that remain on Felstone. Once they are dead, she will bring them back to this world... as one of us.

The Forsaken shall not die out!
