We (hunter and druid level 73) got though the town and then once we hit the bottom (carrion fields?) it was ....a tad stressful!

We decided to fly to grizzly hills ( i think it is amberpine lodge)
and if you look at the roads, you see that it is not far to dawns reach. So, we did that and didn't see one mob on the way.
Maybe we're just tired ( true) but we kept going the wrong way in the fields area and ending up with 5-6 mobs on us multiple times.
If that doesn't bother you, then just head the way the quest states.

But coming from grizzly hills worked very well. In fact as we were getting close we almost ran into Orik Trueheart right on the road we were traveling. Didn't take long at all.

Just to help you out, take a turn into the tree's, where all the roads meet, and STAY TO THE LEFT... and look at your map, as you go along. If you have chords, or not, hug to the left. As you come along the road, you will see a lot of scourge getting shot at, via arrows and guns, but you can't see who's shooting them. Follow the location of who is doing the shooting, there you will find Orik Trueheart.

I'm surprised that a couple of these remarks, and the quest text itself, makes it sound like you can follow the road south out of the Carrion Fields towards the "Forgotten Shore". It's a bad idea-- you'll cross a bridge and suddenly be mobbed by countless numbers of undead NPC's. I don't see how you're going to make it through that way alive; I certainly couldn't.

Instead, go past the east side of the Inn in the Keep, and find a trail south through "Vengeance Pass" in the hills there. Once you make it to the main road, follow it East, and you'll bypass the town all together. (That's what Weelock is referring to although I had to discover it for myself.)

Description

I have gazed upon the orb and seen the path that you must walk, <name>.

Many years ago an atrocity was committed upon the shores of Dragonblight. The act itself remains shrouded in darkness, but I am certain that your destiny lies south, amidst the ruins of the Forgotten Shore.

Take the road southeast through the ravaged town square. Follow the trail until you arrive at Dawn's Reach. You will meet an old friend of mine there known as Orik Trueheart. He will be expecting you.
