This quest is NOT fun at all as a melee class, and especially a fast hitting one as a rogue.
Every time you hit them you get 39 damage from their thorns thing, and.. it may not seem like much, but it adds up.
I had to heal after every mob, but I kept doing it, cos I wanted the rep and the xp.

adding to the post about the thorns, using abilities like expose armor make it a lot easier, any armor reduction ability would work.

Just finished this quest as a 61 feral druid. Wasn't all that difficult. DoT's are your friend in this one.

Also has anyone tried to tame one of these? Just wondering once they were your pet if they would have the thorns aura.

To bad Druids thorn isn't this good

Unfortunatly, their Thorns cannot be dispelled (or, atleast, not by the shammy spell "Purge").

feralhealer druid 1. have omen of clarity,2.moonfire to pull them,3. hit regrowth 4. hit faeie fire 5. turn into cat or if you have pulled more one then bear. this took me about 15 min. without dyeing and it kills them quick.i am lv 63 barley,but was doing them at lv 62 with out quest. very easy for you druids,

This quest as a 62 rogue was not that hard. Just be sure to "kick" the venom ones when they are about to poison you and you should be fine. You can find them right at the entrance of Zangermarsh.

i dont think this quest was so hard to be honest, as a combat rogue level 61, sure, u gotta eat between 2 or 1 mobs, but i just used blade flurry and took 2 as fast as it was ready, the thorn dont stack on the extra dmg. took me 15 minutes for 3g+ 10400+ xp, i think its worth it.

Sorry to hear how hard the melee classes have this quest but as a Frost Mage lvl 62 it is EAZY PEAZY! They rarely even make it close enough to hit me before they are dead and if they do get semi-close Frost Nova takes care of that. The Venom Spitting ones hit on occasion but nothing to sweat about.

As a lvl 61 prot pally this quest was easy, took my some 30 mins to do (I hate lag), All i did was judge Seal of Light along with blessing of Sanctuary, and bring it back up. Healed me for 80% of all damage taken, including the spitters 210 they hit me for.

It -is - possible for a 61 Rogue (combat spec in my case), just make sure to draw them one at a time and Cheap / Kidney shot them so they don't deal damage on top of what you're already taking.

I didnt have any problem soloing these on a 63 retri paladin. Not sure what people are talking about with these thorns - perhaps they were removed in the 2.4 patch?

This is actually a fairly easy quest with a tank warrior. The only problem you will run into is the need to eat and / or bandage after 2 mobs.

Ok here we go, Pick up the quest at the cenarion post, go west onto the big crater filled with these ravager thingys. kill them

The Ravagers are easily identified as for them being alot bigger than the smaller(They are bigger than the smaller!) Venomspitters. Ravagers do a knockdown(stun) which can get anoying for casters in melee range.

Venomspitters are small and dosent do a stun, instead they do a ability called ''venom spit''(Blizzard are really good at surprises, Venomspitters spit venom? they had me laying in the hospital for weeks after that), the ability will do a poison debuff.

Hope this help, and hope u wont get a heart attack because of that Venom ability.

Pretty easy for me. Soloed it as an unholy death knight. If you just follow the path towards Zangermarsh, they are to the left right before you enter the zone.

This quest was very easy for my Balance Druid, I simply entangling roots them, Insect Swarm, Moonfire, Starfire, Wrath dead.. Be careful for those who cant remove poison that might tend to be annoying! Good luck and happy hunting!

Easy job for a 62 MM Hunter.

Start out with a Steady shot, and dps them down until you can use Kill Shot. Very easy if you have a spider who webs them in place for you.

Finished this in about 7 minutes.

• Accept Keep Thornfang Hill Clear! from Mahuram Stouthoof at coords 15.8, 52.2 (north of the Ruins of Sha'naar).
• Travel east to the vicinity of coords 11, 51.
• Kill 8 Thornfang Ravager and 8 Thornfang Venomspitter.
• Travel west to coords 15.8, 52.2, and turn in the quest to Mahuram Stouthoof.

Keep Thornfang Hill Clear!

Kill 8 Thornfang Ravagers and 8 Thornfang Venomspitters, and then return to Mahuram Stouthoof at the Cenarion Post in Hellfire Peninsula.

Description

We've been fighting an ongoing battle to keep the pass through Thornfang Hill to the west clear of ravagers. It would be bad if we were to become completely cut off from the refuge in Zangarmarsh.

We don't want to displace the creatures, but there seems to be little choice as their attacks on travelers through the area have become more aggressive.

Clear some of the ravagers out of there if you can.
