Lump is asleep at 62,71, and will wake up and aggro when you come near. He has about 10k hp, and you will need to beat him down to around 30% before he will give up and turn green. You then need to talk to him to get the quest credit.

Yup 62,71 is right on just make sure you go up all the way on the mound. When you find 2 orcs and Lump and a signal like fire you're there. Spawns a little slow.

Found Lump at the location indicated, but he didn't aggro when I got close... I just had to talk to him, and he remained friendly the entire time.

I had something really weird happen to me. I stealthed up to him and he remained friendly. I talk to him, then once I had click the "This means war! War I say!" he just gets up and disappears. Anyone have this happen to them?

He disappears once someone else has defeated him. If you get there in time before he disappears you can just talk to him without even having to fight him.

When you attack Lump, he says, "In Nagrand, food hunt ogre!", which is most definitely in reference to Yakov Smirnoff's "Russian Reversal" which he made very popular in the mid-1980's.

If he disappears after you talk to him and he was green when you met him it means someone did the quest before you. He will stay there after the quest was done and disappear after a while. In order for you to do the quest. He has to respawn. Which after he does he will be asleep and not sitting.

And yeah he showed as 10195HP to me as well. I believe the way the mods work is they don't actually know the HP of a mob, but calculate it on the fly as they see the amount of damage you're doing and the amount of health they're losing. When you first attack a mob if you have never attacked that particular kind of mob, at that particulat lvl they will always show low hp, and work their way up to the actual HP as the mod does its calculating.

Lump has 10350 hp to date and gives up at around 3k hp left.
Level 65 non-elite located at 62,71.
Solo'd as a lv 65 Blood-spec DK.
No trouble whatsoever
Didn't need potion, ghoul or dancing rune weapon.

This has to be one of the funniest quests ever as far as what Huntress Bintook says when she sends you to him and the conversation you have with him when you find him:

I was doing this as a lvl 80 Mage for Kurenai rep for the talbuk mounts and accidently one shotted him, unlike alot of other interogation quests if ur dps is too fast he wont become friendly before u kill him, so be careful not to do this!

If you level 85 in mostly epics trying to do this, watch out and use a really weak attack. I cant even melee him twice to 10k HP before I kill him. "/ I'm on my forth try now.

I had the problem with too much damage on my 67 Elemental Shaman. So you should be careful even if you are the right levels for this quest.

Edit: After making this post I went to go 'interrogate' him again, but he was green when he re-spawned. They might have changed it.

Seems to be as a neutral target since 5.0.4, I was just able to fly up him and have the usual conversation. Lets hope it stays that way, was extremely annoying to 1 shot that guy 5 times in a row and wait for respawn!

If you are 90 needless to say you have to bare fist him otherwise he's a one shot and you have to wait on a respawn to do it again. He only turns friendly at very very low health.

I actually really enjoyed the challenge of this quest as a higher level character. We're always killing things but how often are you told NOT to kill something? As a level 100 Druid, I didn't see any tips on how to complete this and there were no lower level characters in the area, so I came up with a work-around and I thought I would share.

To complete this quest at level 100 you must do one of the falling:

The easiest way is to group with a lower level character to help you beat down Lump without killing him. You can usually find someone running around the area. Offer to help them kill Ogres if they will help you NOT kill Lump and it will be a win-win.
Acquire EZ-Thro Dynamite II, which can be crafted by engineers, but does not require engineering to use. Purchase one from the AH or you can get 5 as a reward from the quest Shizz Work from the chain beginning with Outland Sucks! in Hellfire Peninsula (don't worry, it's short and easy and there are no other prerequisites other than level). Remove all of your armor so there is nothing to proc or add damage. Run up to Lump, toss an EZ-Thro Dynamite II at him which should leave a sliver of health, and you're done! EZ-Thro Dynamite may work as well, however, I have not tested it.
Crate of Kidnapped Puppies. Remove all of your other armor so there is nothing to proc or add damage.

1. Kill yourself and get Resurrection sickness
2. Get Naked
3. Auto attack

Huntress Bintook at Telaar in Nagrand wants you to speak to Lump. Return to Huntress Bintook when you have gathered the information that she requested.

It could also be Billy.

Anyhow, I think you should go back out there and have a word with Billy or Lump or Dumpy or whatever! Try to approach him diplomatically. If that doesn't work, try using some muscle.
