If you click on the mount and find that it just deselects, I found abandoning the quest and re-accepting it worked a charm.

8.1.5 bugged this quest, I got multiple characters stuck on it. Somehow I did manage to get 2 other chars through it before hand. (more specifically the 2019May20 Tuesday mini-patch messed it up. It worked on the 19th but not the 20th of May)

Newb here....Trying to complete this one and after the cinematic I crash but then am transported back to the quests giver. I have tried abandoning and restarting the quest to no avail........any suggestions other than walking the whole way?

**CONFIRMED WORKAROUND**
As stated above by Sharaak right as the cut scene begins just alt-F4 to force close your game and after relaunching you will find yourself in the right place.

I had issues with it being bugged and taking me back to the quest giver, I did a ticket and received the following and it worked, took me a couple tries to get it right....but did finish it...

Indeed, we've received similar reports that the quest Into the Dunes may not be able to be completed, as characters are being teleported back to Zuldazar after the cutscene. We're looking into it, and we'll provide updates through the Bug Reports forum (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/c/support/bug-report).

In the meantime, we've seen good results with the following workaround:

1) Disable all Addons that affect cutscenes
2) Abandon the quest by clicking the quest name from the Quest Log, then click Abandon Quest
3) Re-accept the quest from Bladeguard Kaja
4) Skip the following cutscene by hitting Esc on the keyboard, then click Yes to confirm
5) Type something in chat before the next loading screen returns you to Zuldazar
6) Verify you got credit for the quest and that it's ready to turn in (important, as it might save you an unnecessary trip)
7) Navigate to Nisha in Vol'dun to complete the quest (if you have unlocked the flight path, it's fine to take it)

As of 9.2.5, this quest is still bugged. I've tried everything listed in the above comments, but it's still bugged. Guess i won't be able to complete this quest ever.

this is completly borked for me. tried abandoning and accepting again, alt +f4 before the cutscene, during the cutscene and after the cutscene, manually running there, get stuck in the air and teleported back every time.. nice game by incredible multi dollar company

This quest is very bugged in 9.2.5 and none of the workarounds which previously worked seem to work any longer.

However after putting in a ticket to support (and after an automated response telling me to wowhead it) I was able to get a GM to confirm that this quest cannot be completed at this time, and have the quest marked complete for me. It took about 3.5 days from submitting the ticket to resolution.

After that you can continue the campaign by picking up Armed and Ready.

EDIT: This has been hotfixed as of June 9th, 2022 and the quest can once again be completed. Huzzah!

Workaround for 9.2.5

I found a workaround:
You need to equip the “Chain of Exemption” necklace before riding the Pterodax; after that, I still got stuck, but at least I completed the quest, and I could fly to the quest end manually.

I submitted a ticket asking a GM to complete the quest for me and after about 2 days my quest was completed I just had to fly to the zone manually

Most interesting. There are two of everything there: Kaja and the other two tolls and pterrordaxes. Everything is doubled except the one you mount. Probably has something to do with the bug, which still persists and which the old Alt-F4 method no longer fixes. Submit a ticket, it's about all you can do. EDIT: I submitted a ticket as all of the other commenters (including the Blizzard forums) said to do. The GMs told me to come back here to Wowhead. At that point I responded that Wowhead and the forums sent me to the GMs. Two days later, the next time I could log on (yesterday), the quest worked. So I guess it's fixed... hopefully. (Blizzard's condescending attitude hasn't been fixed, though.)

Blizz said it's fixed, but I have ran into the same bug still after their fix. As of 6/10/2022 the bug is still present even with the "workarounds" suggested. =/

Probably not completely fixed. But I zoned out, zoned in, logged out and logged back in, and eventually I can mount on and proceed with the quest.(##RESPBREAK##)290##DELIM##PigeonD##DELIM##

Fly into the deserts of Vol'dun and search for Warguard Rakera.

Description

Whatever Rakera uncovered, it was important enough to earn her a death sentence to de sands. We must head into Vol'dun to find her. We cannot let whatever she knows about Jakra'zet die with her in de dunes.
