He's on the other side of the big orange fire from Chen. you'll need to circle around to get to him (and he's encased in amber as well, don't expect to actually see Han till after you click on the amber)

You'll have to circle around through the rooms with the gems to reach him. (You can walk back out through the beams with minimal damage though.)

You must enter the Morrowchamber (if you stand and look at the Flight Master the Morrowchamber is the entrance you see directly ahead).

Once in the chamber you will find Chen. If you speak to him he will tell you that he thinks he sees someone but cannot get past the streams.

If you enter the streams they will bounce you back, but, you do not need to go into the side chambers to get around. All you have to do is go far enough down the ramp to go under them.

Continue doing this until you reach the side of the chamber directly across from Chen. here you will find a big block of Amber containing Han. You must kill the 2 mantids attending the block and then click on the block to complete the quest requirement. Then you need to make your way back to Chen to turn in the quest.

As a mage, I simply blinked through the beams. I imagine that anyone with a jumping ability could do so, just target the mantids on the other side of the beam.

On a side note, I'll use my mage as an example. You can round up as many of the mantid in each segment of the amber beams and blink through to the next section. When the mantid try and follow you, they will be killed by the amber beams. You will receive credit towards the 17 mantid you need to kill by doing this.

Any class can do this by going down the ramp and going under the amber beams while having mobs chase you. Quick way of clearing the room and doing the quest.

This block is in the middle of the room, not in one of the side chambers.

You don't have to kill the mobs who are on the sides, you can just go underneath the barriers.

I don't know if the mobs bugged out on me or what. This area is a bear to get through alone. As a 89 nelf priest I planned on popping PW:S and running in through the little rooms under the streams to try to get to the amber. I planned on shadowmelding the mobs I would pull. Bad plan. The ones chasing me seemed to go away but as soon as I aggroed one nearby mob, the mobs in the entire room (all the ones that I previously passed through) came right back at me. Even corpse hopping wasn't an option. Soon as I rezzed, even within a few feet of Han, I could not get the quest done as there'd be 15 mobs aggroed on me right away.
I highly suggest taking your time and killing the mobs as you make your way through the streams to avoid having to deal with mobs in manageable packs.

WOW just crazy! but doable! As a hunter (lvl 90 with real bad gear) I was able to use stealth and go around most of the baddies. You don't have to go all the way down the side paths, once you're about half way down you can duck under the beams, makes it much easier. Also, the guy you're looking for is entombed in amber, close to the center but on the opposite side of the entrance. Good luck, it's not as bad as it looks ;)

Mages, you can pull the 2 guarding the amber block from the front side. Kill them and then you can just blink through the center. Click the block, blink back and turn in the quest.

You can try and make the mantids walk into the yellow beams; they will most likely die.

Rogues can also Shadowstep if there is a target on the other side of the beam.

The entrance to the marrow chamber is at 47.2, 16.8 in Dread Wastes.

THIS is the place to farm your motes of harmony. The yellow marrow beams kill the npcs very quickly. Taunt, or attack these guys from the opposite side of a beam of marrow or otherwise kite them into the beams for very quick kills. Keep going in a circular motion around the room killing and looting. Very quick way to grab a maximum number of motes per hour.

I was trying to kill the mobs using the various posts here. Then I tried doing what rogues do best.

As a rogue, I stealthed around the beams. Made it way to the amber, hid between the amber and where the 4 main beams meet at the center, clicked on the amber, when the 2 mobs aggroed, I vanished. Stealthed out to the quest giver and stealthed out of the cave.

For a shortcut on the return trip, I jumped over the beams right where they intersect with the edge of the pool. You take a small hit but it throws you over the beam into the next "section". Was able to get back to Chen very quickly. Maybe it will work on the way in as well?

As a bm hunter this worked out good after being killed a few times.

Dismiss your pet.

Go to right down path until you can cross under beam. After crossing and coming back up I was getting wailed on. Just keep running and cross under second beam if you can. Han is ''straight across" from Chan, not down a hallway. I died at this point.

Run back and go straight across the beams until you see Han in amber, rez right by him on the Chan side so you can immediately complete quest and run.

I got aggroed as soon as I rezzed but was able to get quest complete, then ran right towards Chan across middle of beams, turned in quest and then strolled out.

Once you click on the block you can follow it through the center of the fire ribbons back to finish the quest and the stairs.

As a Deathknight if you use Pillar of Frost you can run straight through the middle and not be knocked back.

Saves a lot of time.

Something funny: your vanity pet will also be thrown back by the stream. My little Moonkin Hatchling kept being tossed back and it would flutter its wings wildly.

If you walk down the side room ramps, you can cross under the beam without pulling the ones in the rooms. If you can get the mantids, on the ramps and around the main room, to walk in to the beam, it will kill them. If you don't mind a little kiting, you don't have to do much work with this quest.

After finishing the Brew Camp's set of quests, a keg will become available. Using this keg grants you a mug of their "beer". If you talk to Han while carrying a mug, another option will become available.

As a feral druid, I found Silentwon's comments very helpful. After entering, I stealthed counter- clockwise, going down each stairway far enough to be able to cross under the beams without getting zapped. When I got on the opposite side of the room, I used Master of Puppets to enlist one of the local baddies. We took out two or three of the other bad guys, then I let him handle the remaining ones while I clicked on Han's amber tomb, then stealthed my way back over to the quest giver. It was really easy after I initially got dead multiple times trying to take the baddies on head-first...you'd think I'd learn...you'd be wrong.

Encased in amber, dragged by Chen Stormstout all the way in home, gets Dreadbrew gatoraded all over him by me, wants to fight as soon as he wakes up, projectile vomits (literally all over me, I was standing right in front of him), and collapses on his face.

One of my favorite NPC's now.

I seriously hate this quest. When you die you cannot get back to your body because the entrance to the place does not show in black and white. I am literally a hairsbreadth from lvl 90 but i cant make it now because of this quest.

Also... you can use a ranged spell ( Like Chains of Ice ) to get them to runinto the streams... usually will kill them.... or they will be at half health.

Warriors: Heroic Leap will let you bypass the beams entirely. (As a result I was confused as heck on my *second* toon without a movement trick.)

You can see the cog representing the amber block where Han Stormstout is located by looking at your mini map when standing next to Chen Stormstout after you enter the Morrowchamber.

If you die, as a ghost you can surpass the beams, so if you know you're about to die (or are just lazy (go towards the center so you can rez in the right section.

When you start the quest, a very brief scene will occur.

Chen Stormstout then stands up and looks at Evie Stormstout's grave one more time.

Chen Stormstout says: She looked like Li Li.

He then departs to look for Han Stormstout.

That really hit me home in my heart. Made me wonder where Li Li is nowadays...

Once you've found Han Stormstout (be sure to click on the amber containing Han Stormstout to "push" it back to Chen Stormstout) there will be another brief scene after handing in the Han Stormstout quest.

Chen Stormstout is kneeling next to Han Stormstout, encased in amber.

Chen Stormstout says: Another one... lost.
Chen Stormstout says: He may never know the peace of returning to the earth... but at least he went out fighting.
Chen Stormstout says: Come on. There is nothing more to be done here.
Chen Stormstout says: I am going on ahead. They say Mama Stormstout is still out there somewhere.

Chen Stormstout then starts lugging the amber containing Han Stormstout out of the Morrowchamber.

Poor Chen, seeing his family members drop before him... I'm surprised he didn't get possessed by the Sha yet, seeing what he has been going through. Props to him.

These beams are a very good way to kill Kor'thik Chitinel. If you get them after you, just run under the beam where there is very low space between the ground and the beam. You will be able to walk under it (with none to low damage) and the NPC's will just keep running into the beams and die.

Don't worry, you didn't miss a quest, you'll see her on Fires and Fears of Old at the end of the chain.

I like that if you left click on Han while he's encased in the amber and being carried by Chen out of the Morrowchamber, he still greets you. Apparently he keeps his manners regardless of the circumstances.

As a gnome (and I guess goblins too), just run under the beams halfway down the ramp. If you get aggro, just get the mobs in the beams, and they will die.
Being small is yet again something good ;)

I hadn't done this quest in a long time so I'd forgotten about the beams. After several deaths (did they add land mines next to the beams?) I tried something in frustration.

I stood next to Chen, lined my self up with the amber on the other side, and ran straight through the middle. Since I went between the four central beams without touching them I was able to get through with no damage.

As of legion Worgens cannot get under the amber beams without changing into human form they get bounced back near the beams and cannot leave the sloped areas
EDIT: I currently cannot pass the stream even in human form

These beams are volatile. I can't remember if they were that bad when MoP was current exp but I'm sure I didn't have as much trouble back then. It seems they were throwing me back even while being no where near them.

After several attempts I tried a Noggenfogger elixir to shrink me down. Did get hit but went much more smoothly and managed to get round to him without too much trouble.

This is all sorts of messed up now. The beams definitely weren't acting like this in MoP. I was getting thrown all over the place. Finally I attempted something suggested here, and blinked right through the middle. This worked.

The easiest way to get across is to make use of Ka'roz the Locust's Klaxxi Augmentation: Speed King. This gives you a second jump which makes a nice large arc across the pit.

This quest is horribly bugged right now, you will get thrown around even when you're not even remotely close to the beams. Makes it impossible to get to Han.

Holy crap is this quest bugged. Blinking works, but since most classes might struggle with that, the quickest way to do this is to die, then respawn right next to Han Stormstout. It's by far the least frustrating method I found for getting this quest done, particularly since you only need to do this once.

Broken piece-of-#$%^ quest. The beams position is no indication to whether you're going to get knocked back (forward ? it's complete chaos). You get hit both when you cross them, and sometimes even when you're nowhere near them, or even hugging the wall trying to go around them through side-chambers. Really irritating bug.

The bug is that you used to have to kill the mantid in each room to break each beam. Killing them doesn't disable the beam now so hopefully you have an ability like Blink or Heroic Leap to just jump to him to turn in.

Well. That was tough, no joke. However, I found a way around the beams that worked, based off of what other had folks posted here. Turn to the left, and go around each beam by walking down into the first chamber, kill everything, go around to the back of the first chamber turning back on the opposite side of the beam and back towards the main room. Do this one more time, and you'll find yourself behind the large piece of amber that you need to click on for it to move towards Chen. Once it's headed his way, you can run through the middle and get back to Chen, finishing the quest at that point. Whew!

2020, Quest is bugged. Amber beams can't be disabled as intended.

Simply walk into the beams until you die, corpse run back and res on the other side of the beams, unless your class has means of getting to the other side of the beams in, say, "a blink."

I Tried this as Tauren DK three times, only after reading this did I decide to rez near Han. I had a bad feeling when I entered the chamber the first time.

Mages: Blink.
Hunters: go survival, harpoon.
Rogues: go outlaw, grappling hook.
Warriors: Heroic leap.

If your class has any kind of ability like this, use it, because even if you SEEM to be not touching the beams, they'll still get you. Save yourself the frustration.

Completed today as 120 paladin. After entering the entrance, go left and try to be as much close to the walls as possible. Walk all the time through the left side hitting the walls also in two rooms and then go straight and activate the item.

Ever since the Winds of Wisdom Winds of Wisdom EXP buff was introduced, I've been levelling alts in preparation for Shadowlands. (Now have one of each class)

This quest is by far the most messed up quest. the room seems pretty much un-navigable. if you can blink through or something similar, do that. if not, die and corpsedrag through.

In 8.3 this is what I did, and I hope it helps you.

I read some suggestions here about dying on the far side of the beams and rezzing like a mage blink (I'm on my pal and couldn't get close after 10 mins of trying).

I took off my helm, shoulders, pants and chest. Pulled the last pack down where the beam is pointed and was able to back/strafe up the ramp to reach Han Stormstout without issue.

Fully geared, I couldn't do it with my bubble or Bop. Hope this saves you 10 minues! Good luck!

Since some point during Legion, for most players, this quest has been about impossible to complete without dying and rezzing on the far side of the room. Mages can blink through the amber streams (usually), warriors might be able to leap over them (but not always). I spent 30 minutes trying to use disengage on a hunter and never managed to get to the side of the room with Han Stormstout. I tried slow-walking, using potions that increased my run speed, and aspect of the cheetah, all to no avail.

Just as I was ready to give up, I tried aiming my character so it was walking into the wall and inching my way along. passing under the stream near the bottom of the side passages. This worked, more or less, but there were some tense moments when my character was sent in the wrong direction by the amber stream's knock-back. To my relief, my character made it to Han Stormstout and then was promptly kicked to the entrance side of the chamber from stepping one pixel too close to one of the amber streams. But, having seen it could be done, I kept with this technique of walking into the wall, until I got to about the center of the wall on the side with Han Stormstout and finally managed to click the lump of amber he is encased in.

This quest was always touch-and-go for large-framed characters (e.g., Tauren males and Draenei males), but no where as difficult during MoP as it is now.

The room seems bugged and 3 out of the 4 streams were invisible.

You can still just dodge them by going low enough on the ramps.

This quest has been nerfed a lot. The angle of the beams was changed so you can just walk under them now. You used to have to go down the ramps and kill all the trash to disable the beacons.

Find Han Stormstout in the Morrowchamber beneath Kor'vess.

Description

There will be time for mourning later. For now, there are other Stormstouts to be found.

They say that Han Stormstout was last seen exploring Kor'vess. I suspect he headed into that mantid burrow, just across the way.

You should meet me down there, <name>. I don't doubt that I can handle a few mantid by myself... but I'd feel better with you by my side.
