Note that you have to kill the shamans when they're chanelling with the lightning, otherwise you won't be able to click the torch. It's okay if the lightning goes away while you're killing them though.

The shamans put a buff on themselves that when you kill them or dispell it from them stacks on you. At 8 stacks you get 200% extra damage and quite a bit of healing every couple seconds. It's definitely worth it to try to keep the stacks up.

If you're having trouble picking up the torches, I found I needed an extra bag slot empty beyond the first one for them to fit in your inventory. If your inventory is full try getting rid of some trash and it should work.

It appears to be bugged now, as other players can "Steal" your torches once you killed the shaman. You need to be next to the torch and fast to avoid the quest items thieves.

Quest is bugged as of 9/29/2012. For me, when I started fighting a shaman next to a torch, the torch would disappear.

The Totems are beside the Shamans sapping the sump-rush lurkers and once you kill them you just have to go to it and pick it up. It isn't something you loot off of them. You just have to kill the shaman to loot it. Hope this helps XD

You can only pick up the Torch if the Shaman is near a Sumpruch lurker and they have a blue thingi betwin them. If you kill the Shaman then you can pick up the Torch after you killed the Shaman.

On the third shaman I killed the torch disappeared before I could kill him. This happened on the fourth and fifth time too. I thought maybe the quest was bugged, but then I noticed that the lurkers were dying before the shaman died, and that's when the torches disappeared. If this is happening to you as well just make sure the lurker has high health before you start, and you should be good to go.

Ok so i had 4 empty slots and nothing, killed 3 and nothing happened. So i though i would take a look at the Sumprush Lurker..Ahh His health starts to deplete and i killed the Shaman before the lurker died and presto...i was able to pick up the torch. See if that helps.

Note: Someone kille the shaman and i was able to pick up the torch.

With this quest I found it easier to found a Shaman who did not have a lurker trapped a give him a few seconds a lurker will spawn with full health. better chance to grab the torch at the end.

Yet another bugged quest... it shouldn't surprise at all anymore, still... Somehow it's impossible for me to pick up the torches. They don't disappear, they even seem clickable, but nothing happens. The torch remains stuck in the ground for a few seconds, and then despawns. The lurker linked to the totem runs off, no quest credit. Cute...

I was having trouble looting the torches and tried to empty out my bags like the first comment mentioned. It still didnt work. Logging out and back in seemed to work for me.

Thought the quest was bugged so read here about having one extra slot in my bags. That worked for me :)

The one extra bag slot still works as of today. This seems to be a glitch with inventory on the bags rather than specific to this quest as I have had the same issue with the cooking dailies on items that stack.

Terrible terrible quest virtually impossible to do for any class that isn't high dps, such as tank or healer, because the torches are either despawned or ninja'd before the shaman dies. I guess Blizzard just assumes no one is levelling in those specs anymore... :(

Most broken quest in WoW!. At the moment we are 7 ppl just waiting and following each other after a couple of ninja-uses... This really brings the worst in people. Been atleast 50 total in /spit /rofl and /shoo

To gain the torches, the lurker needs to be ALIVE.

The quest is NOT bugged, the torch just disappears when it's job is done, which is killing the lurkers. As long as you kill the Mist-Shamans before the thunder kills the lurkers it should all be fine.
Also make sure you make free bag space for the torches.

What's the point of taking these torches if we have to kill the shamans before that anyway?

The Mist-Shamans often drop "Capacitor Totems" that stun you when they activate. I was unable to kill them as a shadow priest so in the beginning I just let them stun me. Quite by accident I moved away from one (maybe 10 yards) and when it went off it didn't stun me. So maybe it's a given but if you keep away from them, they won't stun you.

Description

Until recently, the yaungol shaman would come here to work alongside us. Now, they bend my people to their will.

If we refuse, they kill us. Even if we oblige... they kill us.

The yaungol mist-shaman's magic flows through his torch. Take his torch away, and he has nothing.
