Just follow his instructions on how to do it when you check with him. If he wants less mud then use the same amount on the other two but less mud and see what he says after that. At the most you will need 10 tries to get it right, no more.

So, for those of you who didn't have this quest available right out of the gate and spent hours running around trying to find the starter quests to get over here to do the precursors to get the new flamefly pet here are a few tips.

First you must do all the quests at Flamestar Posts. Alllll of them, even the ones with the little goblin up the road a bit. After you do all of them you will get a quest to kill mobs on your way to Chiselgrip post.

Once you are at Chiselgrip you will need to talk to Stebben Oreknuckle. After doing so you can talk to Eitrigg

Talk to Eitrigg and he will have to go talk to Thelaron Direneedle and he will give you this quest.

There will be a little table next to him with some glittery fabric on top of it. Click on the fabric and for a BE I used the 3 hides -> 2 mud -> 1 thread as suggested above and it worked like a charm.

To find out what you need to try different combinations while keeping on the options the same. Based on his emotes you can see on what you need to change.

3-2-1 worked for me as a Blood Elf. Keep in mind that after choosing a combination you'll need to talk to Thelaron Direneedle next to the table again.

Hi Guys
So after While i back to Burning steppes to complete my story line from this zone i was on 3/4 and now i'm level 120

so there is problem i need Blackrock Disguise and this is for while ago cant remember what happened to my quest item

so i read so many comment and didn't get answer so try to tell what happen to me!

first of all if you need this quest item to complete your quest go

find Thelaron Direneedle and speak again for each race its different you can find in wowhead your race tip
note:
if you try to get this as a allied race like :dark iron dwarf : check Dwarf part
or lighforge check Draenei
highmountain tauren check tauren and so on .....

so and again there is nothing for me the npc wont speak whit me and do nothing !

So i back to my messy bank I click on search button and search the word Blackrock disguise and i see its there on my back and that's why i cant speak to npc again for new one

this quest item need for some quest like

I feel like the explanation for this quest needs to be simplified since the comments are making this seem a little more complex than it is.

The fact is that there are 4 versions of this quest and which one you get depends on your race. The hide/mid/thread ratio is fixed according to the version you got.

Read the quest text a little and find out what race the giver wants to make you into.

If he wants to...

Disguise you as an orc: 2/4/2

Disguise you as an ogre: 4/1/3

Disguise you as a goblin: 1/3/4

Disguise you as a troll: 3/2/1

Description

Judging by your weight, build, and size, we're going to dress you as a troll. The Smolderthorn trolls have always worked with the Blackrock orcs, so you'll fit right in.

Do you know much about tailoring? If not, then consider this your first lesson. My crafting table over there has all the necessary supplies on it.

Go ahead and grab whatever you think is necessary, then bring it here. Thelaron will fix you right up.
