Dismiss your pet before activating the troll statue.

Otherwise your pet stays out and can die while the scripted event unfolds.

While the in-game quest tracker points you to the Ruins of Aboraz, you'll actually find the bat totem at the Ruins of Jubuwal (where you got the Zanzil's Mixtures from). You'll be transported to the Ruins of Aboraz to get quest credit, then transported back.

Zanzil the Outcast says: Jin'do the Hexxer! It's been a while since I've seen that mask.
Zanzil the Outcast says: What brings you out to my part of Stranglethorn? I'm not accustomed to taking visitors from the esteemed Zul'Gurub.
Shade of the Hexxer says: You know well enough about why I'm here, Zanzil.
Shade of the Hexxer says: The Gurubashi have fallen on hard times. I live, and Mandokir has returned... but the rest of us are gone.
Zanzil the Outcast says: What a shame... but not a concern for an old exile like Zanzil.
Shade of the Hexxer says: Well, Zanzil, I'd like to male it your concern. I've recovered the bodies of High Priestess Jeklik and High Priest Venoxis.
Shade of the Hexxer says: I remember what you can do with those elixirs of yours. Can your elixirs help out an old friend?
Zanzil the Outcast says: Friend? You were among those who spit and threw stones, Jin'do. But let's let bygones be bygones, eh?

Although the In-Game Quest Tracker tells you to go to the Ruins of Aboraz, you must actually go to the back of the Ruins of Jubuwal.

There you will find the Totem which you should interact with to fly you over to the Ruins of Aboraz where the conversation between Zanzil the Outcast and Shade of the Hexxer will take place (this being the reason why the game points you to the Ruins of Aboraz in the first place!)

The area where you are supposed to use the incense is located south east of the entrance to Gurubashi Arena.

Done this quest for the shoulder transmog, as of the Legion prepatch there's no issue with the questtracker BUT no item rewards. So don't waste your time.

You might get confused about this quest as you get it at the same time you get the quest for Zanzil Mixtures. There will be a circle at the Ruins of Aboraz (RoA) but this is not where you want to go. Moreover, the map wrongly indicates the Ruins of Jubuwal (where the totem is) as right near the RoA.

You'll find the totem on the East side of the Ruins of Jubuwal.

Without, just a rock throw SouthEast of the Gurubashi Arena.

Place the Gurubashi Incense in front of the Totem of Hir'eek, then listen to Zanzil's plot.

Description

Zanzil the Outcast, an exile from the Gurubashi tribe, is my quarry. Recently, I have heard tales from my brothers in the north about his planned reentry into society, starting with the emissary he sent to the Skullsplitters. This is not good news.

I want you to peer into Zanzil's current plans. Take this incense, and place it in front of the bat totem in the Ruins of Jubuwal, to the north. Hir'eek will guide you from there.
