all i had to do to complete the quest was to jump on the hippogryph and then wait til i at some point ended in the harbor again.

Currently broken in the beta,

What's SUPPOSED to happen is you fly onto the airship. After you kill all the orc crewmen, you plant explosives on the ship. Then while you fly the explosive-laden ship straight into a collision with the Forsaken army, you use the Wyverns on the ship to fly off in time.

Needless to say, that would be awesome to see...but as it stands, you end up stuck on the airship's roof, unable to do anything. Eventually you are "fixed" off the ship with the quest marked as completed.

This is also the last quest currently available in the beta. After this you get a quest telling you that the last few quests aren't ready for testing yet, and that they'll send you to Darnassus in the meantime.

I just completed the quest with a level 12 mage. We waited till Tobias told us to get on the hyppogryph and it took us to the Gunship. We killed a few mobs there then jumped down. We went to the lower decks of the ship killed a few more orcs then moved to the engine room where we faught a boss and blew the join up escapeing on those horde flying cat things. 15 silver and some good experience.

You assault the Horde Airship and bring it down upon the Horde forces. I expected more action than this, so I guess they will make this even more epic at some point. So far you can check out the beta version of the quest (build 12644) and see it's one of those "run next to X and you won't die" kind of quests.

make sure you dont accidentally talk to the boat master who asks if you are ready to go to Darnassus before you complete this quest, you will be taken out of phase and wont be able to go back and finish any further gilneas quests. I currently made this mistake and don't see an option of it being fixed unless GMs do something about it or I reroll a new toon...

For those that accidentally left the starting zone, there may be a way to go back without a GM - I had a long DC during a DM run and when I managed to log back, I had been vote kicked and, as a result, got unstuck teleported back to phased Gilneas, since I hadn't changed my HS location after taking the boat teleport.

This quest bugged a bit for me today. Lorna says, "That's... one big orc." And there was no orc. So I stood there, waited around, and then she told me to get on the wyvern and bail. Bummer.

Will someone please add more detailed information about the actions taken to complete this quest? I got over to the airship and couldn't follow what was happening. I looked all through my bags and couldn't find the explosives. I couldn't find the rafters she wanted secured. I couldn't tell if i should be one of the sharpshooters that stays behind. I ran around looking for the ropes or stairs that she was talking about but never found any way to get down - probably because i spent so much time looking for the explosives and got behind. After it completed, i abandoned it, tried again and couldn't find the wyverns i was supposed to jump on. Boy do i feel stupid. Any help for myself and others who might be in the same boat?

i went through, didn't even get the ropes to rappel down on. just stood there on the deck. listened to the dialog. eventually the ship blew up and i was flying home. oh well. bugged, but at least i got credit for it.

Did this last night. No rope appeared but i just jumped off the rafters. followed Lorna and let her kill most everything and helped fight the big orc. she sets off the explosives and it puts you on a wyvern on your way back to the starting point of the quest. for those of you that took the boat you only miss that quest and a few "go talk to someone" in darnassus quests.

The ropes spawned, but it took alittle bit of time for me to be able to use them. Ran the quest with Lorna and let her do most of the work. Then I was kicked off the server just as we were killing the boss. When I got back online, I was in Aderic's Repose, quest completed. Kinda wished I could have seen the rest of the quest.

Are we supposed to just wait around for 10 minutes after accepting the quest? I guess I'm supposed to get on a hyppogryph, but the nearby hyppogryphs can't be mounted, and Tobias just keeps repeating dumb things like, "we have to wait until everyone's ready". It seemed like I had to wait forever before I was finally on a hyppogryph and on the way to the horde ship.

I have had two issues with this quest:
- I took the ship before completing it. A GM fixed it, but I had to wait several days before he did it.
- Tobias keep telling the "we have to wait until everyone's ready" thing, so I abandoned the quest and accept it again. It worked. Don't wait more than 5 minutes for him.

to get the big orc Krom Bonegrinder to appear, it seems that you have to have the whole bottom deck of the airship cleared of enemies. he can be solo'd. Like the others on the airship, he didn't dropp anything.

Basically, once you finish this quest you are stuck on a deserted island. I made the mistake of hearthstoning to finish a quest and upgrade my spells, and had to run through the entire island to get back to the boat, because everyone was GONE.

Don't do this quest unless you want to leave the island.

ok so i finished this quest twice. First time was my first run though and took the other area, Thought I had messed up or something so I re-rolled. I finished it again and now am thinking what do I do now am I to go to the boat to that dam(?) place?

I recommend skipping this quest: take it, wait for the start, hop on and then go have a snack while it unfolds. Just annoyed the XYZ out of me to have to hang around.

I didn't see the wyverns, just magically teleported to one.

Guess not being blown up with the ship because I was left behind at least it something.

But I do feel cheated.

And I don't even like the stupid mass-npc-slaughters with infinite heal wait for it to end kind of quests.

This was a big nothing. Ended up on horde ship and no where to go, just back and forth on a short bridge. When came time to blow up ship, I didnt do it. But was hurled through the air onto a flying bat and taken back to harbor!

Heh, at end of quest when everyone is to mount up to escape the soon to explode ship, I messed up and fell off the side. >_< Didn't die and a wyvern flew down to pick me up and take me back to the port, so no worries if you're as clumsy as I was. =P

first of all, the map is wrong, it is NOT in gilneas city, it is outside at keel harbor... second, why the hell does it take 15 minutes just to start the damned quest... i accepted, afk'd took a ^&*!, smoked a cig, came back, even had the time to set up an account and type this comment before i was even able to start this quest. not even worth the time in my opinon.

Well doing this quest it seems you sit there FOREVER with Tobias just repeating "when everyone's ready to go blah blah" .....so i started wondering if there was someone i had to talk to to get the ball rolling..i didnt..u just wait there for a couple minutes and evetually he yells he's ready and away you go!

I completed all the quests up to "Endgame" and couldn't accept this quest because I was level 11 somehow. I was able to talk to a GM and they were able to accept the quest for me so I could finish it. Just FYI in case anyone else has this issue.

Interesting note... you appear to be able to enter battlegrounds prior to doing this quest (or perhaps right after accepting it). Normally when a battleground pops and you haven't finished the worgen/goblin starting areas you get an error stating "You can't leave before the fate of Glineas/Kezan has been decided!" or something like that.

But to my surprise right after accepting this quest, WSG popped, I accepted, and was zoned in. I typed /afk because I had no heirlooms but I was not removed from the battleground (just the roster) and we ended up getting an 11th player.

I wonder if there's a level cap in this starting zone... if there isn't, theoretically it'd be possible to have a high level worgen sitting in this zone just using BG leveling. Not particularly useful, but it reminds me of people who would get to max level in Guild Wars' instanced starting zone too, heh.

Don't freak out like I did when I couldn't hop on the wyverns by clicking: you can't mount them manually. At the time when the ship is about to hit the ground, you're automatically put on a wyvern and flown to Keel Harbor so you can complete the quest.

5.0.5 has lots of bug on this quest.

- after planting the bomb, when the lady shout Thats a big orc. However, no orc spawns.

- after several minutes, she shouted "get on the wyverns", but they are unclickable

simply stand around and wait for the event to unfold itself. you will still be credited with completed quest.

Fun fact: if you're a level 14+ druid, you can teleport to Moonglade during this quest (possibly sooner?). Don't do that. You obviously can't go back directly and my hearthstone didn't work either. Waiting on a GM ticket to see if they can do anything. Update: GM helped me out, said they were able to use the hearthstone without any problem. So I'm not sure if it was some weird bug, or their special GM powers, or what. Still, I don't recommend doing that.

Bugged for me to, i didnt saw any "big orc" and i couldnt jump on the wyverns, then after 1 min the ship exploded and i aouto jumped on a wyvern and the quest was done :)

Alert: This is a long post, and contains a spoiler that gives away a bit of a secret on the boss you fight at the end of the quest; if you wish to avoid it and preserve the secret untill you learn it yourself, simply do not mouse over it. If you would like, I would suggest you simply skim over what information catches your eye that may be most relevant to what you are looking up on; this post was made in the hopes that it would enlighten or assist somebody who was stuck on the quest or needed clarification on the events that occurred, in the case the events had to be re-experienced, or should a friend need help and yourself quite at a loss as far as explaining what to do/what happened/happens. I most definetly hope this post will help people, and I hope feedback is given so as to give an idea of how to improve the quality of it or expand further on important details only briefly discussed. Thank you.

Please uprate this to the top of the page if helpful, and I hope it DOES help some people. To clear some things up, it can be fairly said that this quest is not bugged at ALL. To start, upon accepting you end up having to wait 10 minutes (less if others before you accept the quest even if not in group) before mounting up on gryphons. Some time after the base of the Cataclysm players came and went and the populations began to seem less intensified, 10 minutes turned into a generally long time for the most of us, waiting to go and clear the quest. Once on the gunship, I've heard tell of how the rapelling ropes take a while to become useable. The trick is to kill all of about 10 Orcs on the upper deck, to the point where Lorna tells 2 sharpshooters to stay in the rafters (she refers to 2 general game NPCs, not players themselves) while the rest descend with the now-activatable ropes to the lower decks. You'll see her enter a tiny room with a navigator that says something to the effect of 'Navigator says: : Dabu!'. Lorna will say something of how the greenskins shouldn't try anything funny or they'd be shot on sight. Here is where you'll want to be sure you have a raid target icon over her to be sure you're following her correctly; to do so, simply click on her, and to the right of your player portrait displaying your health/level/source of energy/etc, right click on HER portrait and, mousing down to something that is to the effect of 'Raid Target Icon', choose a desirable and easy-to-see marker so that you can find her easily, should she escape your sight. She and a group of worgen will go below deck down into the hull of the ship and into a yet smaller room to kill 2-3 guards and set down incendiary bombs; however, she will spin around and comment about 'a BIG ORC!'. However, if others before you have killed him for the quest, this simply means you were late for the party but can skip the fight and will get credit simply for waiting about all of 30 seconds. At this point, if you were anywhere else on the ship but where the boss fight goes on, should it have occurred or not, Lorna Crowley would have shredded him up (lest he had not spawned due to having died already) and you still only have to wait 30 seconds for a Wyvern to swoop in and carry you away, with your required credit to clear the quest suddenly popping up as the bombs destroy the gunship. If you happen to jump the side of the gunship BEFORE the wyvern reaches you at the end of the quest, you will fall down and possibly die/have to run a long way back. DO NOT DO THIS. People who are even caught by the wyverns don't get , as this has been tested numerous times. To make this more clear, if you are at any point before Lorna mentions the big Orc, and he is killed, jumping clear off the side of the gunship would mean death, with the exception of landing in water. So yes, it is possible to stay up in the rafters with the rapelling ropes, on the main deck, in the room with the navigator and the other Orc, or anywhere in the general vicinity of the lower boss fight, and eventually get credit as soon as Lorna and her crew successfully kill the boss (which they are fully capable of doing solo), and then very quickly afterwards end up on a Wyvern back to the quest turn-in. However, if you want to be kept in the loop of this amazing questline, it is suggested that you be sure to at least check at the point where Loran says 'Big Orc!', so that if the fight hasn't been cleared minutes earlier on a run somebody started before you, you can witness and experience the awesomeness that is killing a boss that is a... SPOILER ALERT! If you do not want to know the secret, simply avoid reading by mousing over this 'blank' box; huge, ferocious GREEN and mutated fel-orc hell-bent on kicking the epicness that is Loran Crowley on a rampage, and her mini-legion of worgen buddies. Further information is that Lorna can solo this big baddy, and that he has all of about 14,000 health and is a level 12 elite.

In full, I am glad to have prepared this guide in hopes that I gave a good and thorough idea of the quest, its components, and how exactly it should be handled. Should this just be a collage of all things said on other pages (which I admit that for the most part it was, mixed with some of my knowledge) and it was simple enough to read through smaller posts that made everything clear in less words, vote them up or leave me be; I am only here to give helpful information to those who may want/need it. Should you feel that you are enlightened, or that this is a well-clarified or easy to follow guide, please show it through a reply or an upvote. My main concern is getting this close to the top of the comments, vote-wise, so that hopefully people won't experience such a pain in the snout as I have had on numerous occasions when doing the Worgen-associated questline. In any case, should you have read this post, I still very much so thank you for your time and apologize if no information here really helped you due to whatever given reason. I had an issue with this quest on 10th May, 2013.
After waiting for the npc's signal, I went on the hippogryph, and landed on the aircraft, but not a single npc was there, no event was triggered... The aircraft just start moving after some time and crash on the wall of Gilneas, then I had to walk all the way back to the quest npc to try again.
After 5 unsuccessful tries, I opened a request for GM, here is their answer (translated in english by myself) which solved the problem):

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Game Masters,

After investigation, it seems that this issue with the quest Endgame is known by our developpers.

They are working actively on a fix. We expect it soon.

To resolve the issue, you just have to go on the aircraft and, if it is empty, deconnect while you are on it and then reconnect.
You should appear in the middle of the fight, as expected.

WARNING: your character is currently on the aircraft; be ready to fight when logging in ;)

Leads to Rut'theran Village from Admiral Nightwind. Completing the quest instantly teleports you to Rut'theran Village, a Night Elf town just outside of their starting zone, Teldrassil.

The town has a portal to their capital, Darnassus, and a harbour which will ferry you to:
- Azuremyst Isle, just outside of Exodar (immediately behind you / the western dock). This is the Draenei starting zone.
- Stormwind (ahead and to your right / the southern dock)

I waited for this quest to start and could not click on anything, so I came here and it seemed like the quest would start without me, so I started smoking, developed lung cancer, had transplants, quit smoking, or whatever, and then saw that on three separate occasions, they told me to mount the flyer and the quest continued without me. So, I sat and waited, followed Lorna, killed a few orcs, never saw an orc, she never even said her line, just told me to fly back, and before I could click on the wyvern, I was flying back.

Very disappointing. Make sure that you pay attention so that you do not miss your chance.

Wow, this quest is bugged to hell. You stand there from anywhere to a minute to ten minutes waiting for him to give you his ready. Don't even try mounting the hippogryph, it won't allow you to until he gives you his command. After rambling about it being the right time a few times he will give his command and you can mount. It flew me to the gunships, dropped me off and then nothing. No NPCs, no big orc, just stranded on the gunship. Logging out didn't work. No ropes. After five minutes of hearing shouting and seeing no one, the gunship crashed into Gilneas and it gives me credit for the quest. Which I did nothing to achieve. Now if you're like me and want to see the story line and actually get credit for the quest, it sucks. But if you just want to get it over with without any effort then you can literally just do nothing. Hope it's fixed soon, I hate to lose the opportunity to see a big orc.

The quest glitched for me and the ropes appeared but I was not able to use them. However, after waiting a few minutes the quest completed anyway and I was put on a wyvern to fly back so it worked out.

Ok, so I'm like two expansions late and I've gone through on several worgen before, but I'm still really confused why we're destroying the horde gunship instead of using it to kill all the horde after we've captured it.

This seems to be bugged for me today. When she tells you to get on a wyvern after killing the orc, i couldn't mount one. I waited around for like 5 min. but nohting happened except she wasn't around anymore. Finally I decided to just jump off and take my healthstone.

Had to wait almost the full 10 minutes because of bad timing and once I got on the ship, I wasn't sure what to do but eventually the rope showed up and I took it down.I started to explore but then randomly fell through the floor and was stranded in the middle of the ocean. I already had this website up because of the wait mentioned earlier and so I decided to scroll through more of the comments until I found someone who had relatively the same experience. The commenter said a wyvern had picked them up from the ocean so I just waited, and waited, and waited until I realized I could see Lorna's dialogue was repeating itself. So now I had to swim/run for an hour just to get back to the quest. Definitely the absolute worst quest I've seen in WoW.

Apparently worgen quests are bugged. You still have to wait an entire cycle to do this quest, watching the horde gunboat fly around and crash before you can do it yourself. This and Greymane's gambit, also involving worgen! Or maybe it's quests that involve gunboats crashing....

I had to wait on the dock until I saw the Horde zepp fly by and crash before he let me hop on a hippogryph.
That was weird. I was in the middle of killing the giant orc when without any warning from Crowley, the ship exploded, and suddenly *pop* I was on a flying wyvern flying high above the burning ship. What just happened? LOL Quite a bug.

Such a terrible chest chain. So much time waiting and watching terribly coded npcs jump back and forth, confusing quest information and just a sad gating to the game. Will not do again no matter what.

I tried several times to do this, and was even joined by other players one time but I was teleported back to the harbor every time. It finally worked and I was able to do it on my 5th attempt. Kinda bummed my levelling having to twiddle my thumbs to end it off.

This quest is very dated. You have to wait several minutes before you can jump on the hippogryph and your flown up to the horde ship in the sky. Once up the top of the ship you must kill all the horde npcs and wait for the alliance npcs to catch up and start the next part of the event. It's very annoying and a waste of time. When you use the rope to jump down, you kill all the horde npcs and head down stairs where you encounter an elite orc you must kill. When dead, you are told to jump on a wyvern to escape. This was bugged for me as I was running to the wyvern and i fell through the boat and to the ground and almost died. However my quest still completed.

Adding to this hilarious comment section I have just discovered that yes in fact, we have a new bug with this quest and it's just as breaking as the rest. Tobias tells me it's time to mount up so I do and we're off! Flying out over the sea to... er, nothing. There's nothing there but your ride doesn't care, you have arrived, good luck!

And with that I promptly drop into the sea below, as i'm writing this I am currently swimming back to shore. It's a bit like the Darkmoon Faire cannon really.

I can safely say that as of 2021 the quest has been fixed and it is no longer bugging out as described previously by others. I was able to complete it from start to finish without dropping into the sea or losing my team. The only annoying thing that still remains though is the awful wait time for Tobias to allow you onto the Hippogryph, but I seem to recall that has always been the case.

If the Hippogryph doesn't activate mountable for you, and you happen to be a druid in any other than caster form, just go to caster form. It won't work in, say, travel form.

Like many others, I had a slight issue. I had completed the quest, and Lorna yells "get to the wyverns!" I ran to the wyverns and as soon as I stepped near them, I dc'd. When I logged back in, Lorna was back up at the top of the gunship. If you are in the similar situation, just STAY PUT at the bottom of the ship. Lorna will eventually come running back to you (took maybe 2-3 minutes) and you'll be able to kill the big orc again. Like other commenters, I just didn't move once she shouted and it put me on a wyvern and brought me back to where I was supposed to be. :)

Yes, you do wait until one of the mounts beecomes rideable. No you don't have to wait for the ropes to jump down (but you will want to follow Lorna around when she finally descends. Yes my game did crash when I was supposeed to click a Wyvern to escape the ship lmao

Managed this quest on 12/31/2023 with some patience.

Wait around until Tobias Mistmantle says, "Hop on a hippogryph, now's our chance!"
Land on the airship. Don't do anything. Guards will kill the orcs at the center platform.
Eventually the ropes become active. Lorna Crowley yells to rappel down.
Land on the main deck. Follow Lorna to the navigation room. More yelling.
Follow Lorna back to the deck, then down the ramp to the engineering area below. Kill any orcs that attack.
Follow Lorna to the furnace room. Lorna says, "We've got the explosives in the furnace room. Just hold them off now!"
Don't do anything.
Eventually Korm Bonegrind shows up. Kill the big orc.
Lorna yells, "It's about to blow, jump on the Wyverns!" but the wyverns aren't interactable.
Feel a moment of despair that you're going to have to do everything all over again...
But wait! You suddenly appear on a wyvern as your camera goes to a cutscene of the ship blowing up.
Appear back at the docks, relieved.

I got dc'ed right after killing the giant orc, so i got stuck on the ship mid air. Then an orc was somehow attacking me on my swim back to keel harbor. then it spawned me on a wyvern about 5 minutes later.

Description

We need to get rid of that flying gunship if our people have any chance of escaping.

Here's the plan. Keel Harbor had its share of rebel sympathizers in the old days. I've managed to round up a hefty amount of incendiary explosives from one of our storehouses.

We're going to hit the enemy with a force small enough to fly undetected. The night elf hippogryphs should do the trick.

Tobias will give you the signal when we're ready to go.
