Actually, this is the VANILLA equivalent of the Ring of Blood etc. A new 83 one is implemented in the (i think) twilight highlands.

Note that (for alliance) you must complete Kelsey Steelspark's quests, from Seaside Salvage through You Too, Brute?, before this quest becomes available.

For those of you who what to know. The battle starts off with you and Kelsey in the arena with what appears to be a non elite NPC, Megs Dreadshredder.

Kelsey will start the fight and you join in. At about 50% health Megs yells "You think your clever, ganging up on me like this... well, prepare to face: THE DREADSHREDDER!"

At this point Kelsey becomes more or less useless and concentrates on beating down Megs though that soon goes awry when the Dreadshredder send a saw blade after her so forget Megs.

Your biggest problem now is the Dreadshredder. It is a big mechanical and iy will use a load of unblock-able abilities desired to slow you down and it will pour on the DPS. If your soloing its a DPS race, save your CDs till you are faced with the Dreadshredder and beat it down, soon as it drops, you win!

I solo'd this as a level 50 Feral Druid (mostly quest gear some dungeon blues) without this information.

Hmm... dont understand i did the quest "Thunderdrome: Sarinexx!" but now i can't take "Thunderdrome: Grudge Match!" :/ someone know what to do?

You need to follow the quest line of Kelsey Steelspark (Alliance) to enable this quest.

Even though you are lvl 47 and have completed Thunderdrome: Sarinexx!, you still need to complete You Too, Brute? in order to unlock this final fight.

I just spoke to a GM about this, and he said there have been reports about this quest not showing up for people even though they meet the requirements (I have gotten the Tanaris quest completion achievement and done the quest chain needed to unlock this quest). All he could tell me is to "drop by Tanaris now and then to see if it pops up as you do meet the requirements". AARGH.

Pretty straightforward to solo as a level 49 feral druid (cat form) in full heirlooms.

Avoid The Dreadshredder's Flamethrower and Sawblade abilities and you're home and dry. I used the Wild Charge followed by combo a couple of times, really helped to bring the 'shredder down.

I tried to solo this as lvl 47 ret pally cos i had done previous three thunderdrome q's as this, finished but when I killed the Dreadshredder (lvl 50 elite) it popped back up to full health and chased me through the town and killed me. Just had to rez and hand in q.

Opposite faction players can attack Kelsey/Megs and kill them/kite them and make them despawn without being attacked by the guards meaning they can repeatedly ruin every attempt to finish this quest without any negative consequences.

Not really worth the effort if there's a lot of players nearby.

As of May 10th, 2013, this quest is still bugged. I chatted with a GM for almost 30 minutes, logged on every toon I had available to obtain this quest, and could not pick it up.
For horde there are no prerequisites and you pick it up from the goblin to the left of the door - if he does not offer you a quest at 48+ you most likely won't be able to get it.
The GM said people got lucky and were able to obtain it after a server restart; and if at any point on your account you pick up the quest and abandon it, it will glitch for all your future toons. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon >.<

as of 6.0.3 Patch this quest is bugged, if you want to do this quest, you have to kill the big mechanical boss from 100% health to 0% in 1-2 seconds, otherwise yout faction's fighter will begin running around arena and killling the mechanical boss will not make your fighter to stop running, he will just disappear and enemy faction's fighter will stay in middle, but final dialogue between fighters will not happen and later you get "quest failed", again, you have to kill mechanical boss BEFORE your fighter begins running around.

SO! Here I am, a level 100 warlock, and need the cloak for xmog. Had to go around and do all the required quests, then back for the final match up. And of course, one shotted the shredder, causing the npcs to despawn. I even tried letting the shredder live for a few seconds, one shot and again, despawn.

Solution? I stripped off all my gear, walked up and used melee only one the enemy npc until shredder appeared. Switched to shredder, did melee for a bit... and then blasted him with a spell. (any spell, at 100 its a one shot even without gear lol) and bingo! The enemy npc despawned (died, ran away, who cares) but the friendly stayed and quest completed!

Note: Once you finish the first 3 matches, you have to speak to Kelsey (alliance) and do the entire quest chain, including side quests that come available along the way. (Yes, you even have to ride the big bug and kill hyenas for meat. Be warned, being as how this is a barren desert, apparently some of those hyenas are so skinny they don't have any meat.. just skin on a rack of bones and some nearly mummified innards, so you'll need to track em down and kill about 20 or so just to find 6 fat enough to get meat.

It always amazes me, like... collect 6 hearts from... whatever.. and OMG you kill 30 because, some how, 24 of them were wandering around and had no heart! Like seriously Devs... be rational, if you want us killing 30 of something, just say kill 30, or at least have a huge assed buzzard swoop down and carry off the other 24... at least that would make sence. LOL.

Killing the robot slower worked for me as well. Once Kelsey Steelspark yelled "Ack! Not the face! Whaaa!" and ran around the room, I finished off the robot, waited and got mission complete. :) (Edit: Forgot to add, that i also had to quickly put my pet on passive at the last second so he wouldn't kill off the robot too soon.) "

It's still bugged. I tried killing the mech instant or wait for the two NPCs finishing their dialogue. The outcome is the same. Megs Dreadshredder will stand cowering in the middle of the cage and after a few seconds the quest fails.

7.0.3 may have broken this entirely. I've tried blasting the mech down in seconds, waiting for Kelsey to run around, going so slowly that I only used autoshot, turned my pet to passive so the aggro would be on me, killed it very slowly on the last attempt... none of it worked. And on the last attempt Kelsey did run back to the center, but she said nothing and simply despawned. What a bummer.

i remember this quest when i was going to loremaster. this quest is not broken, just completed myself. so i tried this two time first time with rez and no gear and failed, equipped just my weapon dropped her to 1 hp and she summon the dreadshredder. kill it and i got quest complete, and yes i had rez when i did it the second time also.

not sure i need the rez sickness

Once Kelsey Steelspark yells"Ack! Not the face!" and "Whaaaa!" you can then finish killing the The Dreadshredder. If you kill it before then the quest will bug and fail.

I just completed this quest as of patch 7.1 on a Survival Hunter wearing nothing but gray quality gear (Part of a challenge I'm doing) and failed this quest many times before, finally after using ALL my burst, including putting my pet in ferocity spec (So she does more damage) I was able to defeat the Dreadshredder just miliseconds before Kelsey started saying "Ack! Not the face" and "Whaaaa!". Seems you have to get that sweet-spot timing to complete the quest. Killing the shredder too fast makes you fail, killing it too slowly makes you fail. Just keep trying over and over and over and it should work.

Has this quest been removed in 7.1.5? I got as far as Sarinexx on my level 49 frost mage but wasn't offered any more quests after that.

As of patch 8.0 at 110 I was unable to pick this quest up until I went and did The Amphitheater of Anguish: Yggdras! and the following quests at the amphitheater.

I was trying to complete this quest for Loremaster progress and kept running into the issue of "not meeting the quest requirements".

A work around I have found for this is taking off most of your gear. For whatever reason, going down to an ilvl of 116 allowed me to accept and subsequently complete the quest with no issues!

Warmode. At level 60 (shadowlands) I had to go into warmode before it would allow me to successfully accept the quest.
