I have no idea, why the questlog say, it's recommended for 3 players. Maybe, because you can't solo the following quest(s), bur this one is easy. You just have to sit on the dragon and lean back. After a while, you land back at Altruis and the quest is solved.

If you were on a mount, when you took the quest, you can't complete it. Just remove it from your log and get it again, standing on your feet.

I soloed this part, as all you do is fly around the Forge Camps, and then accepted the next quest. Then you just wait till you find a group to handle the rest.

You can't be mounted when you take on this quest. If you are, nothing will happen. Dismount, abandon the quest and get the quest again. Soon as you accept the quest, you take off on the dragon.

Confirmed. This is an easy 3050xp where you just ride the netherdrake. It's the portions of the quest, afterwards, that require the group.

You can't be moving or mounted while accepting this quest. When you accept this quest you get mounted on a dragon that flies by itself. just sit back and relax and get 3050 experience for free. Next quest is called Buying Time.

there is a glitch in this quest... i was mounted on my frostwolf howler and i accepted the quest it said you are already mounted then i got killed by some allies right there... when i got back i could complete the quest...
i went afk for a wile after i rezd i got killed again i relieced and walked back 2 my body and rezd i talkd 2 the guy 2 get the quest again and... i could speak 2 him about the end of the quest

Not only do you not want to be mounted when u accept this quest. You can't be moving either. Had to abandon and accept quest several times cause of that. I have a nasty habit of running in circles and jumping all over when idle :/

As an unholy death knight, I had to dismiss my ghoul before I could accept this quest. It kept saying I was busy and could not use the taxi service.

When you're in a party it appears only 1 person can take this quest.

I did the quest, my mate couldn't pick it up, even after i handed in the quest.

When I left the party he dropped the quest, picked it up again and then it worked...

Just accepted the quest right from being afk and still sitting, and it completed the quest without having to fly.

I accepted the quest while on my fly mount landed. Then it appeared an error saying that I was already mounted and the quest was completed.

For druids it somehow bugged on me while i was in flight form and I accepted quest and upon taking it it told me twice to dismount and it completed itself. Nice quicker way for druids I guess?

When i accepted the quest i was on my flying mount, he told me "you are mounted" 4 times and then i've completed the quest.
I'm reporting that to GM, i think it's bugged.

as of 3.2 you can have flying mounts in outlands at 60..so i was on mine when i accepted thsi quest..it said "you are on a mount, please dismount first"..2 times before it said quest completed..so if you want to see the quest get off your flying mount, if not then stay on it

It was bugged for me, i was on my flyer and i started the quest and it said i was already mounted. Then i waited about 5 seconds and the quest was complete somehow and i didn't do anything.

Theres a way to bug this quest where you don't have to fly on the netherdrake. When you accept it make sure that you are mounted. When it says "you need to be dismounted" Click off your mount you will get instant credit and avoid a 5 miniute flight. Hope it helps!

If you're having trouble getting mounted, position is important when you accept this quest. Stand directly in front of Altruis and next to Nethradamus' head. You should automatically mount when the quest is accepted, if not abandon it and reaccept.

Also if you are moving while you accept the quest, you won't get on the dragon.

They should fix it so we just have to right click on Nethrandamus, I wasn't near him or it didn't grab him and I was on my flying mount. So I had to abandon the quest to restart it.

once you restart the quest it will automaticlay put you on the drake

This seems to be bugged for me. Complete the survey flight, drake lands, I talk to the dude, get halfway through reading the text and (without touching any other keys) - I'm mounted back on the drake and the cutscene starts over again.
Happened 4 times to me now. Even quit out of the game and then reloaded in case something temporary was glitched - doesn't help.
Shame as I'm somewhat of a completionist - I get dizzy, feel faint and have to lie down if I leave an area before all quests are completed. Looks like I might have to suck it up and leave this quest (chain?) undone.

... only it's been six years now. On the up side is this:if you take the quest while mounted, it tells you to dismount a couple of times - and then decides that you've finished the quest...

Interestiing bug, that. Saved me some time too. But I missed the guided tour, which is kind of a shame.

Don't know what happened, but I accepted this quest, the drake flew for approx 3 seconds until it turned back and the quest was completed. Seems even in WoD this quest is acting strangely, but if this is intended it is now easier than ever

Don't know if this has happened for anybody else but as soon as the drake lands and I talk to Altruis and click the I see twisted metal thing it puts me back on the drake and makes me go through the flight all over again. So for me the quest can't actually turn in. I even disabled all my addons and relogged to make sure it wasn't a conflict and it still forces me through the drake ride again.

Note to myself: Never ever go AFK while doing this quest on a lowlevel character, the area around Altruis the Sufferer - thus the landing site - is within range of patrolling hostile mobs!

Description

To be my eyes will require some diligence on your part. Nethrandamus will take you through the Legion camps, but you must catalog everything that you see. Even the smallest detail that you may think to be inconsequential could be useful for our purposes.

Primarily, I want you to note what structures are in the camps and what comprises the camps' defenses.

Nethrandamus is ready when you are, <name>. Do not be afraid, he will keep you safe from harm.
