coords are 53:57 and i had a 100% drop rate...a good quest bundle with "Medicianl Purpose" (Same area)

i was waiting for wowhead to get done upgrading so i started killing the stags and every one of em dropped the meat killed like 6-7......

Drop rate is always 100% whether you have the quest or not, making it easy to push your cooking skills.

On this quest the meat is deffinately 100% drop rate.

I tested this on a level 80 pally, i killed 100 moongraze Stags and of those 100, 100 dropped the meat (Try it yourself!) :)

Just did the quest as a 70 Human Lock, I had to collect 7 Hides which are a quest drop off the same mobs. I was given a choice of either a cape or boots as a reward. There was no recipe, no followup, no nearby quests. I am wondering when this changed.

Still works, did it as a druid, after seeing the recipe being sold for 500g on AH.

Tips for horde grinding this recipe:

Be a Draenei (duh?)
Use mage
Ignore quests
Kill everything you see between your starting point and the questgiver. You need to be lev 4 for turning in this quest.
You can kill the Moongrazers before the quest, and just turn in when you arrive.

I'm at about 9.5 minutes from creation to mailing the recipe to a toon to transfer it across to horde.

It goes without saying, but it just happened to me, so I figure Ill post on it, I didnt have Low Level Quest tracking on, and didnt see the Exclamation point above Acteon, and like a moron spent several hours doing every other quest I could find in the area, waiting for it to open, then realized how stupid I was, clicked low level quest tracking, spotted him, got the quest... Posting this cause I've read my own mistakes before I've been able to perform them more than once...

For upper level toons who have never done this quest, all you have to do is go to Acteon (53,43) in the main quest giver and profession trainer area of Azuremyst Isle and pick up the quest. No prequests. Just do it and get your recipe! As mentioned above, it is a 100% drop rate so it's quite painless. Only element of tedium is you can't use your flying mount.

• Accept The Great Moongraze Hunt, from Acteon at coords 49.8, 51.8.
• Kill Moongraze Stag in the areas surrounding Azure Watch.
• Loot 6 Moongraze Stag Tenderloin from their corpses.
• Travel to coords 49.8, 51.8.
• Turn in the quest to Acteon.

Tried to get the recipe and did the quest The Great Moongraze Hunt but it no longer drops the recipe Recipe: Roasted Moongraze Tenderloin. All I got for a reward was Moongraze Hide Boots. Sad to see the recipe no longer available in the quest.

Description

You're starting to make a name for yourself, <name>. How about trying your hand at hunting?

Back on Draenor, our greatest hunters would hunt a beast that resembled the moongraze stag of this region known as a talbuk.

If you think yourself draenei enough, go out into the wilds and kill enough stags to fill your pack with meat.

You will find them grazing south of Azure Watch. Watch out for their horns!
