Feels nice to cut loose and go all out for a change, doesn't it? Not quite UNLIMITED POWER, but enough to tear every elite in the area a new one for a few minutes.

The quickest way I found to do this, as demonology, was drain life. It would work for the other specs but not sure if it is the fastest. The quest is about doing damage to enemies and not killing them. So with each tick of drain life you remove 1 from your meter. With just drain life and pet on passive everything died quickly from the fel balls that fire each tick.

It's weird what counts as being able to drain the fel crystal. Fastest way is probably to go Aff and just agony/corruption mobs (no drain soul).

As Destruction, it seemed pretty easy to throw out some Immolate and use Channel Demonfire.

For Destruction, I found the most efficient method was to gather up some mobs then Rain of Fire.

This quest is also a great opportunity to help anyone in the area trying to do Twisted Power, the Fel Bolt does insane damage.

You have to hit mobs to decrease Fel Energy bar through the quest. Each time you hit a enemy, bar counter decreases by 4.
When an enemy being hitted, you launch a fel missle, that deals around 1 mil. damage, so you cant just spam any spell to elite elementals.
But you can use aoe spells, each hit counts as single and counter decreases well. So, if you pull a crowd and cast aoe, you'll progress through the quest really fast.

Some of those fel bolts were hitting for over one million damage. The elites in the area were vaporized

By far easiest and quickest way to complete this quest is to drop a Sturdy Love Fool and go to town. Complete in under a minute.

in version BFA 8.3, think theres bugs with this quest

mine deplete from 300 to 299, then back to 300 again. I cannot work out why fel energy bar gets refilled.
abandoned and retried the quest 3 times.

at level 120 demonology, had to kill my minon, strip naked and try get more hits on mobs. still didn't work.

so if u see naked green locks running around, u know why lol

Turnip Punching bag also works to help drain the energy and is easier to obtain outside of the holiday.

The counter is broken as of 9.2 but the punchingbag trick still works. Get some mana potions if you're impatient.

The manastalkers around 29, 45 hyperspawn and are an easy way to farm for this quest without a toy.

UPDATE! the quest is not bugged ... the bar is bugged so, keep spamming Drain Life on enemies until you get it completed. won't take more than couple of minutes.

So, as the other comments have mentioned, you can use a 'Sturdy Love Fool' or similar items like a 'Turnip Punching Bag.' However, if you are like me and don't have those toys yet, you could use 'Whole-Body Shrinka' and unequip all your items. Then, start draining life from an elite or a rare elite (Houndmaster Stroxis is near the quest giver and is accompanied by three adds, so if you kill him, you can easily target the adds and deplete the remaining charge in the bar; his respawn is pretty quick too). You get a 3-minute buff, which is more than enough to do the trick. Additionally, in the current game, you are so tanky that the NPC attacks won't damage you.

Post Dragon Riding: Don't summon your dragon riding mount. I think the special widget is shared with mount vigor, and I had lost the Fel Energy bar. I must have done the quest maybe 3 times before abandoning, retaking, and just not using a mount.

Also, since you're probably high level enough to one-shot, use some Aff dot without initial damage to get 2 casts per mob.

Here is another simple way to do this quest:

-Swap to affliction
-Put defile in your hotbar
-Go to 31 50 in Azsuna

There are a lot of imps that respawn really quick. Just tag them with agony and run in circles. It should be faster then just running around.

Description

Soon Kanrethad's banishment will fade, and he will return to our world. We must keep him, and his power, out of the Legion's hands at any cost. If my old friend is still in there somewhere, perhaps we can bring him back. The crystals you recovered feed on fel energy. We can use the ravenous crystals to siphon away the magic that consumes Kanrethad. But first, their power must be depleted. To do so, you will need to harness the power of the crystals and use their energy to kill demons.
