If you can't find the desires items like I did at first..

Detonator: 51,44/14,27
For the people without coords:
If you remember the enormous open space after the first boss, Fleshrender Nok'gar in iron docks, where you could use those big iron stars at the mobs ahead. It's at the left end from that of this big platform (at the water) at the stairs, next to a container and a huge bomb.

Explosives: 56,42/15,14
For the people without coords:
Up the ramp after you've seen Yrel (or after the Grimrail enforcers (the 3 bosses-encounter in iron docks) if you remember the dungeon) then walk next to the rails. When the rails end, the first left. Left right after again on that dock place and there they are.

Had an issue where I could not make progress on the objective, nor could I pick up explosives or the detonator. Once I logged out then back in I was able to complete the quest.

1. Garrison Campaign: War Council - (Video)
• Speak with King Varian Wrynn in your garrison Town Hall and turn in the quest Garrison Campaign: War Council (which was auto-accepted after receiving your Tier 3 Garrison).
• Accept the quest We Need a Shipwright.

2. We Need a Shipwright - (Video)
• Leave your Town Hall and speak with your Garrison flight master, Dungar Longdrink.
• Select "I am needed urgently at the Iron Docks."
• Once you arrive, turn the quest in to Exarch Naielle at coords 52.6, 9.8, and accept Derailment.

3. Derailment - (Video)
• Travel southwest to coords 51.5, 14.3 and click on the Detonator.
• Travel north to coords 51.6, 12.0, turn left and continue on to coords 49.8, 12.6 where you will click on the Explosive Charges.
• Travel southeast to coords 56.7, 17.2, and turn in Derailment to Exarch Yrel, and accept The Train Gang.

4. The Train Gang - (Video)
• Plant 3 Explosive Charge, on the train, at coords:
• 56.9, 16.9
• 56.9, 17.2
• 56.9, 17.4

• Click the Detonator, on the ground, next to Exarch Yrel.
• Turn in the quest to Solog Roark, and accept Hook, Line, and... Sink Him!

5. Hook, Line, and... Sink Him! - (Video)
• Travel west to coords 56.6, 16.1 and click on the Blackrock Grapple.
• After you grappled to the upper level, enter the building in front of you and attack Admiral Knar.
• Loot the corpse of Admiral Knar to retrieve Roark's Shipyard Blueprints.
• Turn in the quest to Solog Roark, who is located outside this building at 50.6, 16.1, accepting Nothing Remains.

6. Nothing Remains - (Video)
• Use your Garrison Hearthstone, turn this quest in to King Varian Wrynn, accepting All Hands on Deck.

7. All Hands on Deck - (Video)
• Leave your garrison through the western exit (coords: 26.2, 48.6), and travel down to Eventide Bay at coords 27.5, 11.3.
• Turn in the quest to Solog Roark.

If your ilevel is less than 640 or you happen to be a squishy, plan for an interesting and unpleasant slog. Seen Edge of Tomorrow yet? Once you've done this regrettable exercise, you won't need to. It's WoD's version of Edge of Tomorrow. Multiple nasty, repetitive deaths followed by blessedly-short trips from the GY only to discover you can't rez where you died because everything respawns in nanoseconds and you can't get far enough away from the orcanators to avoid being back in the middle of the fight. So you just get to repeat the whole thing from the beginning again. But that's what you wanted, right?

Did I mention that you can't loot the corpses because they've despawned? I love the concept that every so often you're tagged with something called a Hunter's Mark, which means the guys flying around will throw something at you that hits for some amount of damage (it's not consistent) but you have some number of seconds to run outside the red circle. You learn this quickly, because squishies can't fight with one or two orcs and survive a hunter as well. Of course if you're in a fight, with your back to a piece of the scenery, you can't run anywhere.

Except sometimes the timing is not consistent either; sometimes the hunter strikes immediately, and if you're in the middle of a fight, with no armor (cloth armor is for decoration only), you get to try to rez yet again. The Spirit Healer's name is Hilda; you'll get to know her pretty well. Don't accept any of her offers to play cards and you'll just have to get used to her smirking "Haven't seen you in a while....not." Oh don't forget - each successive rez means the next one takes longer, for some reason no GM has ever been able to explain. I think it's a bug they can't figure out. My last rez before I threw in the towel was two weeks, four days, 3 hours and 41 minutes.

But don't worry, the rewards are designed to cover a consistent 10% of your three-digit repair bill. We like that kind of predictability. Console yourself with the fact that the plate guy who turns away from the screen to answer the phone will have a four-digit repair bill.

Didn't like the first half-dozen deaths? No worries, you can just skip the whole thing and go right to Tanaan, where all your friends are. Oh, right - you can't do that; I was just kidding.

I guess we're all Death Knights now.

If you are having difficulty getting 100% completion because of the mobs, jump into the water.

The ships around the dock can be sunk by clicking on them for 6% completion a piece, they respawn quickly, and aside from the very occasional Hunter's Mark that will target you, there are only a few scarce level 93 fish mobs that won't really attack you.

It's a boring, but much safer way to finish the objective if you are undergeared.

Ugh, seriously. Don't bother. Like all other Draenor quests, it's frustrating, aggravating, and not fun trying to kill high HP mobs which you HOPE you only get one of while dodging bombs from the air and giant elites. >_<

This quest has just about driven me crazy, and after reading all the comments, I can see that it only needs some kind of editing to be a reasonable task instead of a complete turn-off.

I'm ready to punch babies and kick puppies over this little bundle of frustration. On top of a hordes of high level baddies are plenty of powerful elites. What's worse is that flying little balls of Blizzard's hatred for me (because there's no other reason for them to be there) roam around targeting you at random interrupting any HP/mana restoring eating you may want to do. Bring lots of good first aid and potions with you. How was I supposed to know I was an idiot for trying this as soon as I hit 100? Get some high level gear before you head out. And beer. This is going to drive you to drink.

The explosives nearest to the Alliance base is extremely difficult to get, even if you can fly. Not only is it far off the beaten path to the west, it's guarded by two stationed orcs and a freaking ogron, assuming you don't aggro the pathing orc, or time it horribly and have the pathing ogron from the north sneak up behind you. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU WANT A CHALLENGE.

However, you can instead take the explosive set for the Horde-side quest.

If you can't fly:

Once you get the detonator at (51.42, 14.31) jump into the harbor and swim to the rope ladder at (54.10, 17.13). There is an ogron that paths here; you can get past once he gets all the way west and stands there. If you want to be extra sure, you can wait or follow him to the east and he'll turn the corner to continue on to the crane.

Continue on past Yrel and the train to the end of the tracks and just around the left corner (to the west), where the explosives is guarded by a single grunt.

There is a rope ladder at the end of this dock, (55.49, 14.80) that you could use to get here, but unless you have a reliable stealth ability, you will have to fight several mobs at once.

This quest is no longer doable in Legion. It does not popup.

Also I had the quest from earlier and derailment does not mark the locations of the two pieces on the map. Only a general area for completion of the bonus objective.

Very disappointing.

it was easier to get the Horde explosives but getting to Yrel, I was killed 3 times and only made it by using camouflage (Hunter)

Description

Several orcs have spoken out since Gul'dan assumed control. Some were taken prisoner. Among them is an engineering prodigy: Solog Roark, "The Iron Shipwright." He designed these docks as well as the great dreadnaughts of the orcish fleet. If my scouts are right, he's in that prison train as we speak... And he may be ready to defect!

Gather explosives and meet with Yrel at the train to the southeast!
