Each person in your party must free the whelps. The whelps being freed do not count party wide.

Be sure to have space in your inventory for four freed whelps. I myself had only three slots open and thought the quest was bugged. Do yourself a favor and have 4 slots open in your bag for this quest in order to complete it.

If you have your Flight Master's License, you do not need to dismount while looting the whelps. Makes this very easy at 80+.

Go in the cave where the whelps are spread out. The cave has all four tied down in it, and two orcs pathing around. Easier than running around from one side to the other.

a note about the quest marker for this quest, it's totally in the wrong place. So when you look at your map and see the # marking where the quest should be, don't go there! Also it appears on 2 different maps, Searing Gorge and Burning Steppes.
The quest area is in Burning Steppes, lower left area of the map and the cave can be found at the above co-ordinates.
Hope this helps you from flying/riding around in circles

So nice of Ariok to free the whelplings ... and then PUT THEM IN A CAGE! No fear, however .. they get their freedom later.

Looking for a confirmation on this;

I was questing on my hunter when I received this quest, I've freed three of the drakes however the forth one, the green drake is named "Unknown" and not fettered. ~~Anyone having similar problems or know how to fix it? I've tried re-logging but to no avail.~~

It seems that the problem has been fixed, if anyone does come to this, just relog and try again; I'm not exactly sure what happened but it seemed to fix itself.

Am i the only one who noticed that the dragon whelpes have the same colours as the dragon aspects?

Don't know how my thoughts crossed that, but its the exact same colours as the 4 dragon aspects that help you kill Madness of Deathwing (Bronze - Nozdormu, aspect of time. Blue - Kalecgos, aspect of magic. Red - Alexstrasza, aspect of life and Green - Ysera, aspect of Dreams, aka "The dreamer" :)

The green one is at the bottom of the hill at 17, 60. The other three are up the hill. When you get up, turn left for blue (17, 67) , straight for bronze (15, 69) and red (14, 66).

Obtain a Freed Red Whelpling, a Freed Green Whelpling, a Freed Blue Whelpling, and a Freed Bronze Whelpling.

Description

The Blackrock orcs of the steppes serve a dark master - one who performs twisted experiments on living creatures to create his own menagerie of abominations. Many of his test subjects are as corrupted as their master, but others are completely innocent.

In the whelping downs to the south, they chain baby dragons to the ground, preparing them for such experiments. I will not stand for this. Break their fetters and return the hatchlings to me... to safety.
