Sit back and enjoy this great in game cinematic. Once the actuall quest part starts simply spam 1 and enjoy the caos. You can also fly back to the quest giver on the drake. If you are lucky like I was this will be your 40th quest for the zone quest achievment.

High Warlock Xi'lun says: We are nearly prepared to start this battle, brothers. Thorg'izog, what is the matter? Why are you covering your butt like that?

General Thorg'izog says: WHAT? No reason... it's just... something is very wrong with my stomach. I think it's something I ate.

High Warlock Xi'lun says: Can you still lead your troops? Do you need to promote one of your sergeants?

General Thorg'izog says: Timan fell from the Pillar of Ash. Othana was eaten by wolves. Gorlop fell in lava. And most of my sergeants were killed in a freakish cudgelling accident.

High Warlock Xi'lun says: I see. Well, do the best you can. And Neeralak, why are you all black and smoky?

Dragon-Lord Neeralak says: Those imps you had delivered... they woke up and started shooting fireballs at everybody! It was chaos!

High Warlock Xi'lun says: Delivered? Woke up? What are you even talking about? Were you attacked by flamekin?

Dragon-Lord Neeralak says: Imps, flamekin, whatever! I don't know warlock crap. Demons all look the same to me!

Dragon-Lord Neeralak says: Besides, I've been busy dealing with other issues. Dozens of my dragons died when those two enemies swept through the front lines.

High Warlock Xi'lun says: You're both failures. But it doesn't matter; with a pit lord on our side, we won't need foot soldiers OR dragons. Behold!

<The High Warlock steps forward on an overseeing ledge and begins to cast a summoning ritual>

High Warlock Xi'lun says: Zar zar refir zenn X zennshi x buras daz!

High Warlock Xi'lun says: And now to quickly use the Orb of Domination, before the pit lord turns on us.

<The pit lord appears on the field and begins rampaging through the Blackrock ranks, unchecked, as the High Warlock fails miserably to bring it under his control. The terrified troops flee for their lives in complete disarray>

General Thorg'izog says: The pit lord's loose! We're doomed! Retreat!

<The player enters the scene at this moment, mounted on his cleverly disguised red drake, ready to put an end to the scattered blackrock forces>

General Thorg'izog says: Quickly, everyone run toward those dragons! All troops, towards the dragons! The dragons will save us!

Dragon-Lord Neeralak says: I never called any dragons...

I rofl'd in real life when Neeralak walked into view, completely blackened. I don't get this warlock crap!

if you skip the cinematic the quest bugs and mobs arent killable

Both things can be confirmed by me..

This was my 40th quest so i got my achievement. But only after it got bugged cuz i skipped cinematic.. Had to wait few minutes for the guy to respawn at flame crest so i could do the quest again

Almost every quest in game with a cinematic will get bugged when you skip it

if you got the bug just abandon the quest, take a gryphon to outside the burning then come back to the same point, accept the quest again and it will gonna work. The bug is because you are still using the orc disguise and there is no way to take it off (at least i didnt find a way apart from leaving burning steppes and come back), and while you are with the orc disguise you can't hit them.

With active you can understand High Warlock Xi'lun when he speaks in Demonic. He says:

"High Warlock Xi'lun says: One, two, three, four, I declare a thumb war!"

It looks like a thumb war can summon a big Pit Lord, so...

if you can't kill the mobs, simply dismount from the dragon in a safe area; the icon which represents the troll disguise at the top-right of your screen needs to be right-clicked, so that it is taken OFF. After the disguise is off (confirm by opening your character screen and making certain your toon is not wearing a mask) mount your dragon using the horn and viola! kill them suckas!

I tried to find the prerequisite for doing this quest, and found a very helpful guide in the comments on the Alliance version, which can be found here. Thank you, wharris!

Some tips for this quest :
1. zoom forward so that your view is in front of the dragon
2. hold right click to view the targeting point
3. circle Dreadmaul Rock to locate the squads for ease of kills in minimum time
4. when you have the 200, return directly to Flame Crest on the dragon. ignore the "return to Dreadmaul Rock" message.
5. dismount when safely back at Flame Crest and hand in the quest
6. watch the dragon leave & hear its steps
For the Alliance version, the above would probably assist, only return to your safe location, not Flame Crest (a Horde outpost).

BTW, there's a Pilgrim's Bounty table at the base of Flame Crest (when Pilgrim's Bounty is on).

READ!

I was having problems with mobs being unable to attack too. Titles were in green and my fireballs didn't affect them. I DISMOUNTED AND REMOVED THE BLACKROCK DISGUISE! I hope this helps!

If you leave your disguise on when you start this, you will discover the mobs are green and you can't damage them. Since you are on the dragon, you don't have direct access to your buff bar to easily remove the disguise. You can either exit the vehicle ( dismount ) and try again, or type:
/cancelaura Smolderthorn Troll Disguise
into the console, and it will remove your disguise and the mobs will be red again.

Do NOT eject the vehicle (dragon) to get off when you're done. Just don't! (Or be prepared to RUN!)

This quest might currently be bugged. I tried skipping the cinematic and I was teleported to Silverpine Forest in the ocean above Fatigue Water and had to hearth out. Might have just been a one-off incident but just be warned for anyone who does this quest as of 11.0.5.
