Pretty straightforward...Use action number 2 to send in your group of centaurs on a target then press action 1 to throw a spear at them till they die. The mobs are all around you. Apparently there is no specific place for the priestess to spawn, but i found her wandering around the middle camp. Shes a bigish demon walking around. Being a hunter i tracked demons and found her quite well. Hope this helps :)

After accepting the quest, speak to Leh'Prah again. He will give you the option to ride with the centaur into battle. If you take it, you will mount a centaur commander and get three centaur soldiers; 2 warriors and a caster.

Your action bar has the following options:
1 - Throw (Throw your weapon at an enemy, inflicting 300% of normal weapon damage)
2 - Attack Order (Orders your centaur units to attack the target)
3 - Return Order (Orders your centaur units to leave combat)
4 - Request Healing (Orders your centaur casters to heal you)
6 - Call for Reinforcements (Calls for aditional centaur units to assist you in battle)

Note that you can, if you wish, complete the quest without the centaur-as-vehicle mechanic -- just run around and kill stuff. But I expect it's harder -- the Doomguards and Priestess were 35 elites and pressured my 42 Feral Druid who's only doing this for the questline and the Cenarion rep. I suspect soloing these guys would be very difficult at-level without the centaur help.

I didn't realize you could have a centaur vehicle, so I just killed mobs on my own. The Doomguards were pretty tough on my level 37 warrior - I was at almost 0 health after killing them with the help of the NPCs. Didn't even try to engage one by myself.

This quest is buggy. If your crew of centaur get stuck they won't respond to commands. I ended up on the centaur mount unable to attack with centaurs running off doing their own thing. Annoying to say the least. I had to log out and when I came back online I was time warped to a different part of the map. Bugs suck.

As a 34 hunter w/o centaurs for the heck of it, killed the doomguards, priestess is very difficult (14k hp) because the warlocks respawn very quickly around her and will distract the pet. Didn't quite kill her.

Buttons 2 and 6 don't appear to do anything. Well, button 2 makes a hunter's mark on your target and taunts it to attack you, but it doesn't appear to affect the behavior of your squad at all. They attack what and when they feel like. Button 3 is the only button that appears to work as you'd expect, and is absolutely essential if you want to get any utility out of your squad at all. Button 4 does work (although it's a very weak heal, maybe 5% of your health), until your caster inevitably gets herself killed that is. As I said, button 6 does absolutely nothing - no replacement NPCs, that's it, enjoy your death and corpse run, DIAS.

The command for sending the centaurs to the target does not work for me. They just stand there and does nothing while the target attacks! Is it a bug?

As of 4.3 <Dec 16>, this quest gets even worse. The only vehicle commands that work are targeting and throwing a spear (2 and 1, respectively). If you can call that an attack, that is.
My lvl 40 combat rogue could handle everything but the priestess with ease. As a lvl 35 elite with 20x my health, it was easiest to use the centaurs to get her down to less than half her health, dismount, and then finish her off. Even the warlocks, the easiest kills, took three centaurs and my vehicle about 30 seconds to kill. Solo, it took me three strikes in about 10 seconds and that included their minion going down with them.
This is the worst vehicle ever. The next quest right after this... Dismount, form a new centaur group, get up the mountain and (again) dismount about 1/2 way through and finish the job yourself (with the help of the three Kahns). Solo, it took less than 1/2 the time. Two Khans will give you another quest but they disappear fast (while running away from you). Just plain bad mechanics on these two runs. Ciao. The vehicle is worthless. The guys helping me just ran around and did whatever they wanted. They did not follow orders, and I don't think the heal even worked. They engaged the priestess on their own, and died. Got her down to half before my vehicle died.

Did the rest of the quest with ease as a 40 disc priest. I probably should have done that to start since things die faster. Quest is buggy and unrefined, very sad.

I just went through this for a second time on a lowbie toon, and I honestly can't remember if it was as buggy the first time around as it is now. As others have already said, it seems as if the centaurs on your team are largely unresponsive to the attack command, and even the reinforcement button seemed sketchy. I gave up on the vehicle after getting wiped out twice, and just used my toon to finish the quest.

As a well geared 33 BM hunter I was able to take out the warlocks and Doomguards with little trouble. The Priestess required a bit of a trickier approach. Taking her on from the north is nearly impossible at this level; there are too many additional mobs around her that respawn quickly and overwhelm you. However, you can sneak around to the west through the water and stop at approx 68.7, 77.8, where there should be a lone warlock to kill. You can then pull the Princess and take her on solo. It's still a bit of a challenge, but with good pet management and a steady rotation, you can bring her down fairly quickly. I would imagine a warlock should also be able to do the same thing.

The rest of you? Bring friends. ;)

37 BM hunter with green beetle pet. Abandoned the centaur for the reasons already stated. The only bit of trouble I ran into was an add while I was killing the boss lady. Feigned once to lose the add's aggro & kept heal up on pet. <3 my green beetle!

As a 38 Boomkin, I did this today and have some notes on NOT using the Centaur's soldiers:

The Warlocks Burning Blade Warlock (x15) are fairly easy and squishy, killed easily along with their pet.
The Doomguard Doomguard Invader (x3) are a little harder. My tactic was to pick on the ones that were already fighting with a soldier that was out and about. I added some dots on him and did my best not do take ago away from the soldier. Once the soldier died, the Doomguard would come and attack, but by this point his health was near half. Burn him down and be mindful of his fire cast. If he does this, run out quickly without aggroing any new baddies nearby. Easy as pie.
Priestess Than'darissa Priestess Than'darissa was by far the worst. Attack from the north where the Warlocks are a little more spread out. Might need to swim to get the best positioning. Root her, dot, and burn. Never let the dots expire. If the kick back is ready, do this and heal up while she is slow to return. Also, watch your mana as by the time you are form swapping and doting, you will get close to OOM. If this happens, swap to Bear form and finish her off. This was a close one for me, but I got it. Very satisfying quest after everything was said and done, I did die a couple times in trying to get the rotation just right. Take your time and be mindful of your mana/health.

This challenge is best done when using full buffs and a flask regardless of class. I didn't use food, but eat/drink if ya got'em. Good luck!

This is officially "that quest" for me. You know the one, the one you'll avoid for anything, because it's so broken, boring, bad, or some mix of the three. That quest.

Your 12.2k health pool is decently deep, but instead of seeming as a "cushion" between death and success, it seems more like a necessity. If I didn't have that extra 200 health, I would have died to the Priestess. (And one of the big demons my pets decided to Leeroy Jenkins onto.)

Call for Reinforcements would seem pretty useful, but it doesn't do a thing. Use it out in the open? Nothing. Target one of the guys being beat on by a big demon? Nothing. Kill the demon beating on him, and then try it? Nothing. Once your centaurs are dead, they're dead.

Request Healing -would- be useful, if it didn't take your caster 4 seconds to cast it, and if it healed for more than 300 health.

Overall, this quest is much like being in a dungeon as a fully geared Protection Warrior (sans survival cooldowns, weapon, and shield) with three DPS that seem to sometimes just aggro whatever they feel like, a healer dressed in all greys permanently afflicted with a shiv'd Mind-Numbing Poison.

You know. That quest.

As of 6.1, all of the Centaur Commander abilities except for "Call for Reinforcements" work. The centaur forces you work with do seem to respond well to the "Attack Order" but they still go off and kill other nearby foes after killing their attack target. Generally not an issue though as the nearest foe was generally the warlock's imp and it doesn't take them long to kill it.

It's even buggier now in 6.2.2. All of my centaur guys died fairly early on. The first time it happened, I just went back to the original quest-giver, dismounted, and then told him I was ready to go on again and I got a new centaur mount and a new crew. After that, most of my group died again in the first battle. I was left with one guy and finished the first part with the one guy. The second part, going over the pass, was also difficult - again, I lost my group right away even before getting to the pass. I got to the top where the boss was by myself mounted on my one lone centaur. After a few moments, the other dudes showed up and we all wailed on the boss.

Here's where it really got bad. The guy you turn the quest into after the boss died disappeared before I could even click him to turn in the quest! So, I had to go back, get a new group, and do the whole trek back up the pass again and defeat the boss again. This time, I managed to click on him, and quickly picked one of the items that was offered as a reward without looking at them, and then all three guys disappeared before the next quest was offered.

This is so buggy, it wins the award for least well thought through quest line. What' worse is that Blizzard will probably never fix it at this point - they are too busy trying to come up with new content to go back and fix old bugs.

Had no problem with the vehicle, worked fine, however the Princess does not spawn. Killed everything in the instance multiple times, went into every building multiple times. No dice. Abandoned

Priestess Than'darissa pats around the area that the map will mark her at, I found it easiest to kill everything else and find her last. I did this at 110, can't speak for doing it at level; at level you might find her just while running around and killing the quest mobs.

when first accepted, got followers, but no vehicle or action bar. And the followers just took off on their own. I killed about 5 targets but it's slow. Went back to quest giver, got a new set of followers, vehicle and AB. All worked well until waiting for princess and followers started on their own again. They got killed off and I did the princess alone. Using the AB to call for reinforcement followers yielded nothing. Tried that four times with no results.

It's a hard quest to tackle if you're a level 20 warrior like me. I'm getting the Loremaster of Kalimdor on a trial account.
Ask Khan Leh'Prah to Summon Centaur Commander and you become a Centaur Commander.
You can fight using your Attack Order and Throw abilities.
If you're having trouble defeating Priestess Than'darissa, the best strategy is:

Swim with your centaurs to the Priestess Than'darissa region, crossing under two bridges.
Get on top of the little hill. Kill the one Burning Blade Warlock that is between you and Priestess Than'darissa.
Heal to full health using your Request Healing ability, and then attack Priestess Than'darissa.
